Harlem Shake Goes Horribly Wrong...
*eia
setup-firework explodes, fire begins, water bottle with flammable liquid handed to guy to put out fire, no gas in can. Screaming woman for effect.
Shrapnel from class C ordinance in that guy's face, though.
Unreal Engine 4 - Infiltrator Demo
I wouldn't say a tech demo has to center individual effects necessarily (as in enumerating and highlighting them) necessarily, but it does have to run in real time on *something*. I'll accept a little give-tand-take there (like it was rendered at half-real time and sped up for the video or something). Otherwise, it may as well just be raytracing. It's obviously all hand-animated too anyways, so whether or not its rendered real time is almost moot.
Anyways, you know what I mean,
That said, apart from some questionable art direction, it does look pretty cool. I look forward to the time, 8 or 10 years from now, when cut-scenes rendered in real time look like this.
Fancy rendering effects are great and all, but we need more physics stuff if we're going to advance gameplay. Not just solid-body, stuff tessellating with the bits bouncing around, but actual modeling of of environments taking into account the physics of how stuff works. Entire levels built of structures that obey the laws of physics made of materials with realistic properties. Wires carrying current, pipes with flowing water, load bearing beams and framing, fuel tanks with flammable liquids and gasses... that sort of thing,
I want to play a game where my imagination is the limit. Apologies for the rambling. Had a couple glasses of wine.
This.. is not a tech demo, this is just some eye candy. Tech demo's actually center on and demonstrate individual effects, this does none of that and is probably not even realtime on any current hardware.
Much Music Tree tosses
Who's bright idea was it to light the dry, highly flammable tree on fire and toss it next to the building in the first place. I noticed they quit in 2000 - Is that when the lawyers stepped in?
Periodic Videos drops red hot charcoal into liquid oxygen
Sounds like this guy has an awesome job. "Let's see what happens when we introduce this flaming object into this flammable material!"

Not a huge fan of his LNG plan for energy independence....fraking = flammable water supply![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/oops.gif)
Anti-Gay Protest at General Mills goes wrong
The Bag inside the box is made of wax paper - highly flammable and fun at campfires.
Soon, rockets will land on their thrusters
So long as where it is landing isn't flammable!

I had no idea the dust cloud from flour was flammable.
Dust cloud of anything is flammable. It is one of the more dangerous parts in farming where there is grain dust and a spark and then a devastating explosion.
On the fun side of things, take a box of sawdust and toss in the air over a campfire. If you were looking for a visual to go with the word "VAKKA-BOOM", it is probably the best.

Female driver trys to cut in line at the pump
I have no idea how this is cutting in line. Bad driver? Yes. A cheat? No.
Also, it seemed way to easy to knock over that gas dispenser AND catch on fire. You would think a little bit more engineering would go into a container of highly flammable liquid that services vehicles driven by the general public within a few feet so the above outcome is nearly impossible.
Then again, what the hell do I know? I'm commenting on a sifted video at half three in the morning....

oh for fuck sake... HOW??? how can you walk around and breathe at the same time with such an obviously useless brain?
Seriously, is this guy borderline retarded? And if he is who was the moron who let him work at a place with highly flammable liquids?
Imo, we live in a world where we're pretty much wrapped in cotton wool. Stub your toe? Make a claim.
We're an arrogant race.. we think everything is safe, and we think we're automatically the top of the food chain whilst forgetting the hard work that got us there <img class="smiley" src="http://videosift.com/cdm/emoticon/tongue.gif">
When you think about it you realise that behind all these laws and safety regulations and stuff, we're just animals surviving. We've developed some cool ways to do it in style, but that's still what we are.
If you got dumped on an earth with no sign of human technology, would you be fucked? I think 95% of us would be!
Lately, I'm finding myself getting pissed off when something happens to a bit of tech due to some bizarre unforseeable occurance and then a few seconds later calling myself a moron because there was no way for the designer to do anything about it.

I just think there are stupid people in the world. There are what? Over 6 billion people in the world now? With those type of odds. Someone is going to hit the stupidity jackpot.. (IE, its a million to one shot that an idiot would look in to a fuel tank with a lighter. Boom we have a winner) and a lot of times it's not that they are stupid, Its just that they do not THINK or Even want to. (IE Lady falling on her face while walking and texting. On live TV) I worked Tech support for years. I've had arguments with people over just getting them to check the damn power plug and then have them be surprised when its really unplugged.
