"You're A Disgrace" The President Meets An Epic Little Girl

lucky760 says...

I don't know.

On the one hand, yeah!

But on the other, someone had to have coached her into behaving like a disrespectful little cuss.

If it were my kid and it was genuinely their own opinion, I'd appreciate more if they could express it more intelligently and respectfully, for the sake of my kid, not the dumbass.

Sailing The Sea Of Stones

wtfcaniuse says...

Our government doesn't give a flying fuck about the GBR or the environment in general as evidenced by all the GBR scandals and the Adani mine.
To use an Aussie expression "It's fuckin fucked mate"

Vantablack

artician says...

There's a company in the US that has created an equivalent, and they're sharing it with an artist I know in the Boston MA area. I can't think of the name at the moment, but it's probably easy to find?

They had expressed the same sentiment about the Vanta owner.

Drachen_Jager said:

Asshole Anish Kapoor bought it so he could keep it to himself and not allow any other artist to use it.

Ctrl+Shift+Face: Bill Hader is Tom Cruise

Drachen_Jager says...

This didn't have the usual level of uncanny valley I get from most Deep Fakes, but I didn't really get Tom Cruise either. First off, Bill Hader looks a lot like TC to begin with, and the facial expressions and some facial features clearly appeared like Hader's and not TC's.

If they're going to fool competent people into believing it's real they'll have to do better.

What song makes a girl smile?

BSR says...

She has the same facial expression all women give me when I ask them if they would like to come over to my place and play "sink the submarine."

Kicked Out of Class for Saying There are Two Genders

newtboy says...

Dishonest stating it in a way that strongly implies he was kicked out for his opinion, and hides from the fact it was for speaking out repeatedly, disruptively.
That's a lie by obfuscation.

Did you even watch it?
The teacher was clear, he was kicked out for continuing to argue after being allowed to state his opinion...a right he did not have but a privilege he was granted. That is disruptive, as is requiring individual attention a second time to discuss the same thing.

He was kicked out for repeating his opinion, disrupting class and the teacher.

The issue is being disruptive in class, thinking his uninformed opinion should shout down an informed one from the teacher, an opinion held by the school board and codified in the rules of conduct.

Regardless of what the douchebag kid thinks on this matter, he has no right to disrupt the class by debating policy.
The kid is free to think, but not to disrupt class. He may express his thoughts....at home or in open public forums, not class.

If you defy school policy, expect to reap the rewards of being removed from school and all that comes with that. Duh. Challenge, sure, appropriately, in appropriate venues and times, like a school board or PTA meeting, not during class. If you wish to challenge it inappropriately and disruptively, don't think standing on the right to speak gives you immunity from other rules or repercussions. That's not how it works. It's not an absolute right....I'll prove it, go argue gender in a federal court that's in session, see how long you remain standing and unincarcerated. Better yet, go argue something not insanely pro Trump at a Trump rally, see how many teeth you have in the morning...If you see morning.

Dishonest about what????????? I just presented an video of disagreement of thought. - I did not take any sides yet you say I'm dishonest.

The kid spoke up in opposition to what the teacher said that is not necessary disruptive. Kid got kicked out for having a different opinion and would not accept that of the teacher.

All in all that is not the issue. It is that is there only 2 sexes or more?

Regardless of what the teacher actually thinks on this matter the teacher is boxed in to accept the policy of his employer/ system. He can't speak against this policy for fear of loosing his job or getting in trouble.

The kid is free to think and express his thoughts.

Defying school policy, -- So its not right to defy school policy, or policy for that matter. Don't challenge? You don't want a world that does not challenge thought, do you?

Bullshit totally dishonest title Bob....as usual.
Kicked out of class for being disruptive, interrupting, not shutting up after stating his opinion, arguing in class, denying and defying school policy, and being a douchebag. His time is worthless, not the teacher's, not the rest of the class. He wasted THEIR time by insisting they agree with his ill informed opinion and not shutting up. I hope he has fun in Summer school.
*lies for the misleading title

Photographer portrays two different worlds in a single image

newtboy says...

Just a guess based on the rest of the photos, not an accusation. It could just as easily be juxtaposing strong family involvement VS absentee parenting. That said, her expression is not a happy one.

I paid more attention to the man's clothes and weapon than hers when making my guess. I honestly didn't notice her head scarf on my tiny screen.
The impression I've always had is that in many if not most middle eastern/North African areas where traditional clothes and weapons like he's wearing are common, women are usually banned from schools....at least until recently. I do admit that's a stereotype, and perhaps ignorant.

ChaosEngine said:

I don't see any evidence of that. Sure it definitely does happen, but it's equally ignorant to say that this kid is miserable simply because .... what? she's got a dress (and maybe a hijab... can't tell from the crappy low res video ) and is standing beside an older man?

Infinite Tucker Takes a Dive in a televised race.

BSR says...

That's the difference between us, @newtboy. I like to create a purpose for everything. For instance:

The dancing skeleton was happy with his victory, which was no easy task, as we can all see, it cost him his flesh sliding on the rough track. The loss was worth the dream.

The dancing deer was his dear mother expressing her happiness for her dear son achieving his dream and her dream as a dear mother. Win win.

Don't dream it. Be it.

Racist Australian Senator egged by hero kid

newtboy says...

Not for lack of effort by the righties who tried to break the boys neck 3-1.

Senator Fuck face was violent, not The Walrus. He punched over a moist tap, an expression of free speech, then his muscle goons really got violent.

The senator erased his condemnation by following it with the word "however". We all understand how that works. He was saying Muslims are evil, and their existence naturally leads to right wing terrorists, who aren't to blame.
Right wing people have already radicalized each other into full blown racists and aren't slowing on that front.

He was not attempting civil discourse, he was attempting racist scapegoating and victim blaming of the highest order....not a discourse at all but a diatribe.

Plenty of civil politicians have brushed off an egging, not him....not today's right.

transmorpher said:

.... Thankfully this time nobody got injured when the lefties lashed out.

Once again lefties do not understand a nuanced subject so they cling to moral outrage which quickly escalates to violence when they don't get their way - silencing free speech.

The senator was not blaming muslims for the attack, he specifically said there is no justification for the attack, and CONDEMNED THE ATTACK. He was saying that lefties are silencing free speech, and that in turn radicalizes right leaning people - which is a problem, because the last thing the world needs is right leaning people being radicalized into full blown racists - because nobody is allowed civil discourse, which divides people into extremes.

And this egging is a perfect analogy for the problem the senator was describing.

-----

The lefties have got people so scared to have civil discourse about immigration, integration and other similar issues that the only people not afraid to talk about it are genuine racists. This is a huuuuuuuuuuuge problem. And as a centrist, this frustrates me to no end, because I have racists on one side of me, and lefty fascists on the other - both of which foaming at the mouth.

AOC Exposes The Dark Side - "Let's Play A Game"

enoch says...

this right here is what drives me absolutely bonkers.

you proceed from a false premise:
that "wealth" translates to being less corruptible.

blindly ignoring what wealth actual not only IS,but what it represents to the elite class in America.

power.

so could we please STOP with how much trump is actually worth,as if it has any inherent meaning in terms of power?

i do not understand wasting time with an ideologue,or dissecting his obviously conflicting comments as somehow expressing a clear and definable philosophy.these people play in the realm of cult of personality, spectacle and magical thinking.

their adoration for a particular public figure is cultish, and has very little to do with reality but more how their idol represents an ideal that they feel very strongly about.

so are we really surprised that bob will give Alexandria ocasio cortez a nod for exposing how easy it is to corrupt the system, but then conveniently excuse his idol and give him a pass based on the flimsiest of reasons:wealth.

when it was Alexandria ocasio cortez's lightning round that exposed how it is actually EASIER for the executive branch and the president to sell their influence for money.

but to bob,and how he sees things, the very idea that trump would ever engage in a breach of morality, and break his promise to the American people...is preposterous,...because trump already has money, why would he sell his integrity?

because BOB has integrity.
because BOB would never break a promise.
this is basic projection of ones morality onto a figure they admire.
we can apply the exact same metric to those who voted for Obama.same thing.same results.

you will never get bob to admonish his hero, because that hero represents the IDEA of what bob is projecting, not the actual reality.

fundamentalists engage in the exact same magical thinking.

so how can i get mad for bob,and the other trumpsters of the world?
i pity them.
because delusional dreams always crash on the shores of the real eventually.

and that is going to be a sad day for bob.

Bob said that her line of argument (selling regulation policy changes for self enrichment), is less of an obvious motivation for someone who enters politics already wealthy.

That's a perfectly fine statement to make, as there is less to gain.

Emotional Wedding Haka

toferyu says...

I get where you're coming from.

But I'll tell you with this my feelings are more along the likes of

**Jealousy** : Wish I had that type of communion at my wedding or any type of gathering of friends : pure and raw expression of individual and shared emotions... which brings me to :

**Shame** : In a way I fell this shouldn't be shared with anyone else that wasn't there that day.

Sagemind said:

I'm going be honest here.
I'm getting tired of seeing Haka all over social media.
But maybe not in the way you think.

It's a deeply emotional and personal dedication of feelings and respect. It's amazing and a great show of power which presents and reinforces the dedication a group has to another.

It's deeply spiritual and steeped in tradition.

But the way it's plastered all over Social Media, it's become a spectacle. It's become something to gawk at, and it trivializes what's really going on. It's so deeply personal. This exchange is more of an experience in it's presentation.

Of course this is just my opinion. My opinion is irrelevant in this matter, and I would never try to force my opinion on others. I'm not advocating some kind of Social Justice enforcement or cultural appropreation, or what ever the internet trend is.

FOR ME, I just feel the deep importance is stripped away as we look in. It would be fine if I saw one or two, and I experienced the power to understand it. But it seems like every time I turn on my computer, someone else has posted another one. (This one isn't new to me, I've seen it in at lease 20 other places on the web on other SM platforms. It's becoming a meme which does it some discredit.

Thanks for letting me voice my thoughts.

GUARDSMAN - 2018

Mordhaus says...

Basically the Emperor, a human who was effectively immortal due to his psychic power constantly regenerating his cells, began to be considered a god because of a combination of lies from the chaos lords and because some of his followers simply couldn't reconcile his existence without him being divine. He constantly fought against it, telling them he was not a god.

Due to the chaos lords interference, a cult formed that would accept him as nothing less than a God. They fought a huge war and the Emperor was triumphant, but was so wounded that he was going to die. Unfortunately, his mind and psychic powers control FTL travel and some other stuff, so he had his people modify a 'throne' he had been creating to help him control the daily duties his mind performed easier. The modifications would keep his mind functional even as his body rotted and decayed.

The great irony is that he began to be worshiped anyway and his skull is the symbol of the imperium because it shows his willingness to sacrifice himself to 'protect' Mankind.

The effect of trillions of human beings expressing a deep faith in His divinity has massively empowered the Emperor's mind and soul. Whatever He may have been before the Horus Heresy, the Emperor now truly is a God within the Warp, equal in power to any one of the four major Chaos Gods, and very likely as powerful as all four of them combined, as He has become perhaps the strongest spiritual force for Order in the Milky Way Galaxy. His mind must claim the life energies of 1,000 human psychics a day to empower FTL and other functions of the imperium.

My knowledge of 40k lore is limited, perhaps someone can fill in a bit. I know these dudes are both generic archetypes from the game, and are zealous supporters of their God-Emperor.

Is there a bit more info anyone knows that would add some layers of understanding to the interactions here, particularly at the end?

On The Nature Of Daylight

I never heard of her before. But then again I don't watch television. Her facial expressions are so subtle but so full of emotion. Truly a great actress in my book of winners.
