Inside the World's Most Dangerous Amusement Park

Esoog says...

Chattanooga is listed on that page as previously having an Alpine Slide. We went up there twice at night after they closed when I was in high school. They always left the shed with the sleds unlocked. We lost most of the skin on our shoulders and elbows after a couple runs. It was a blast to do during the day...it was terrifying at night without lights.

Mt. Hood in Oregon has the Alpine Slide. Been going for 20 years. Upon further investigation, there are a LOT of these.

Red Hot Nickel Ball in Peanut Butter

UsesProzac says...

I can sort of answer this.. Open jar of peanut butter elbowed into fire, smelled good at first, through the haze of melted plastic. Then it smelled god awful and I couldn't eat peanut butter for a couple years.

What it's really like to work at a music store

aaronfr says...

Actually, I think most of the 'music' was coming from the black guy in the back. You can see his fingers doing all the work just under the white guy's right elbow. It might be a terrible duet, but there is definitely no child involved.

Louis C.K. Interview By James Poniewozik

The last question and the answer to it was really great. If you want to succeed in show business, you have to have that "show must go on" attitude where you just don't rest until the shit is done, a genuine interest about the subject and the message. Even if it's a commercial for a local car dealer, that motivation will shine thru. If you don't have that, you're in the wrong line of work. I've never met anyone who has that passion and care to not get a job in the industry and i've seen a lot of arrogant and talented people fail miserably.

That being said, you have to use some elbows every once in a while, step on some toes and be confident of what you do. I'm advancing step by step just because of that genuine care about the message, have only got good reviews (so far, fingers crossed...) Every time i get a new show to do, i'm just so grateful to have that chance, seeing the look on peoples faces when something you did makes them dry or laugh.. That 5 seconds of shared emotion cures all pains.

Hot tatooed girl fails at caligraphy

chingalera says...

No, it's 2013 man. You saw smashed breasts with nipples and most of the tee-tahs covered by elbow-action. Check with your boss for what's safe and what's not and maybe you shouldn't be fucking-off watching viddies at work??

Thumbnail should be changed, as you are basically showing tits on the front page. FYI Which means you made the front page a NSFW website.

Crazy Impressive Breakdancing Kids

mikeydamonster says...

The heyllll you talkin' bout, can't flow together? The entire basis of "power moves" in breakdancing is being able to sustain rotational momentum while nearly seamlessly chaining them together. I would be of the opinion that is one form of flow.

Not trying to be a dick, but if you're really saying that nothing new has been invented in the past, I think you have to regain some perspective, and you're also missing a lot of nuance. 15 years ago people doing straight windmills would be somewhat impressive. It wasn't much more than five years ago that air tracks (0:38) became common. People were not doing that shit in the 90s. And certainly not doing it on just one elbow, while grabbing their other leg and sipping a cold Coke all at the same time.

People do moves, and then other people figure out ways to add a little something on top of those moves, and so on and so forth. I think there is definitely an artistic aspect to it, in that there's an exploration there of the limits of the human body, and dancers have taken things much further over time.

I think to some extent breakdancing has been played out, when it kind of resurged in the 2000s. It's also frequently taken out of its larger context of hip hop dance, where it's just one aspect of many different styles.

Anyway, yeah, I guess I'm kind of defensive about breakdancing.

I'm sure there is other dancing that has a more limited vocabulary, but breakdancing feels particularly limited in that many moves can't flow together...

Anderson Cooper Demonstrates the Ostrich Pillow

zor says...

Funny idea but for real, the best 'ostrich pillow' is a long sleeve T-shirt, rolled up long ways, and tied twice around some regular headphones like you find at the gun range. Can't see or hear anything so who cares if people think it looks funny damn if it doesn't work on planes or airports. I just tell seatmates give me the elbow if they need anything I'll be asleep.

The Electric Fence

Payback says...

>> ^Archanon:

Don't listen to that elbow or back of the hand crap. Even though most if not all electric fences are DC, they pulse the current so you would never have a clench response. Instead, pick up a blade of grass and touch it with that. The grass acts as a resistor and lowers the current you receive. He did earn a few Darwin points however for standing in a mud-puddle and touching something electric. He should go hug an electrical engineer for sparing his life.

Real men piss on them.
