Several months ago, someone posted a trailer for a porn spoof movie (not surprisingly, I can't find it now). It was freaking hilarious, but it had to go. This seems to fall under the same umbrella.

This old vid is unfortunately dead, so I don't know if it's relevant or not, but perhaps some elders can comment on its content and why it was acceptable.

I'm not really taking a position on this. I think it's one of those areas where you have to decide to be dogmatic or flexible. I generally think flexibility is good, but I can see why this is one rule for which you might not want flexibility.

Condescending bitch "Darlin' I'm going to have to go with the research" Well, quite frankly that research is a steaming pile of crap. What kid who plays a game thinks that it is real life? What age are they testing? What situations are they testing. What complete and utter tripe.

I am a very anti violence kinda guy, hate it, hate guns etc. BUT I love FPS games, and I really enjoy adult themed violent ones... it has no real baring on real life, they need to stop creating scapegoats for bad parenting, simple.

All they keep coming back to is 'Well parent's just can't watch everything their kids are doing any more, the kids are going to play their dad's game'. Ok, let's break this down:
* Parent's should be actively involved in what their kids watch and play. No TVs in their bedroom, any watching/playing is done in a communal area, such that they can't hide it away. Same goes for a computer.
* By saying that the kids are going to play their dad's game, are you suggesting that it shouldn't be able to be purchased at all? Are you saying NOTHING should be available that kids shouldn't have access to? What about alcohol? No, you won't ban that because a) that's stupid and has been tried before, and b) you lot all love a drink and wouldn't want that deprived of you. So what do you do? You keep your liquor under lock and key. Parent's can do that with any M/AO games too you know.
* Then they swing back to "Well it's all available on the internet"... a game of that size? Yeah, won't notice that on your internet usage... Where did that 4.5Gig go Billy?
