What you think you know about tides is all wrong…

Palestinian UN Ambassador At UN

bcglorf says...

Tragically it's all more complicated than anyone can really state, right? I mean, if you had a 30 book(10k pages a book) series solely on the conditions in the region of Palestine between 1930 and today you'd still have so much material to cut, you could limit all 30 books to only 1 sides POV.

The closest I see to shortcutting things, is trying view what is likely to happen in the future, and from that maybe what one might try and do.

The trouble being there's so little one can do. The reality is that Israeli military strength compared to Palestine is completely and entirely one sided, and thus Israel can and will do whatever it wishes to militarily. It's all their choice, period. In fairness to Israel, you have to note that Hamas as stated in their own charter, given that same power would've already cleansed the entirety of Israel and have created their own single state 'final' solution.

It's also not actually about Palestine vs. Israel, which should be obvious given the fact of Israel's military dominance. Israel IS really facing existentially threats of it's own, just not directly from Palestine, and instead from ALL of it's neighbours. That state of constantly requiring Israel to be capable of winning an existential war since it's inception has kept things in a perpetual state of near-war, and more often proxy-war with the Palestiniances as the pawns of alternately Iran, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and others depending which time and region we choose to look at.

Predictively, that gives us that Isreal can not, under any circumstances, accept conditions to exist where any party(in particular Iran as the main backer) views the "Al Aqsa Flood operation" as a success. That means Israel will do whatever they deem necessary to ensure that happens and Iran in particular views that operation as a mistake. Nothing the UN or any of the rest of us say or do can change that.

A reasoned and relatively factual position. Congratulations, but….
In my and many expert’s opinions the deadly indiscriminate pressure is exactly what pushes desperate and grieving innocent civilian Palestinians into Hamas’s arms. You would create two terrorists for every one caught with the inhumane treatment of the civilian population…and commit a serious war crime in the process.

Israel should abandon all expansionist settlements from the last 30 years and free the Palestinian citizens from the oppressive genocidal apartheid they’ve forced on the population for decades. That would end the conflict tomorrow, instead Israel has telegraphed its intent to take over Gaza militarily and occupy it again…and America stands by their side, but not all Americans.

If America had spent 10% of what we spend supplying Israel with weapons they use on civilians instead on building infrastructure, schools, hospitals, roads in Gaza, the Palestinians would not rightly see us as racist enemies, and might have the resources and inclination to oust Hamas. But we don’t.

Palestine gets no aid. You can’t withhold something that never existed. The reason Hamas gets any support is they do supply Gaza with food and medicine while Israel and America just embargo entire populations because a terrorist group lives in the country. Think if the world did the same, bombing cities flat and starving America because the Boogaloo Boys live in America.

Hamas is not Palestine, they’re the warlord gang that took over from the intentionally weakened Palestinian parliament and the only group supporting Palestinian civilians (while also using them as shields and cannon fodder).

Hamas fucked around, but Israel is making innocent Palestinian civilians “find out”. That’s a serious war crime that should put every Israeli soldier in prison, and get Netanyahu executed.

MyHouse.WAD - Inside Doom's Most Terrifying Mod

moonsammy says...

OH MY. I watched the video after playing what I *thought* was the game, and I missed a LOT. I tried spoiling only tiny bits of it at a time and seeing how far I could get before I needed another spoiler, but it was too complicated to do it that way. Ended up just watching the rest of the video.

This is an astoundingly complex work of art. Huge credit to whoever the hell made it, and I hope more people (and not JUST people who've played Doom before) watch and/or try it, to appreciate just how amazing it is.

*promote this wonderful madness.

I played this without watching the video, and am glad I did. Really excellent mod, and the ways it fucks with you are quite ingenious!

Watch Elon Musk's Rocket Explode After Launch

newtboy says...

IF they really learned enough to justify the enormous cost, good for them and it is a “success”. That remains to be seen, I think even they won’t know until their next shot. If it has 6 motor failures, that’s advancement, but enough?

It’s not a great sign that near 1/4 of the motors failed in 4 minutes…that’s a whole lot of failures to figure out. It’s unlikely one thing caused them to fail, and they need to solve every single issue before they can put people on board. I hope they got enough data. I do want this to work.

This is a different mindset/methodology to designing a vehicle for getting to space, one we aren’t used to. Edit: Rapid Advancement through intentional failure. It will be interesting to see how this gamble pays off. Great risk can bring great rewards…or great failures.

I would say to Hatfield, yes, many airplanes failed their first test flights…but none were 1/10 as expensive or complicated as this rocket. Failures here are many orders of magnitude more expensive, so really NEED to produce major advancements quickly to be a viable method for designing rockets. The Wright bros only lost some cloth and wood when they failed.

Shit fails all the time when testing. Particularly when things have never been tried before. Chris Hatfield seems to think it was an 'enormously successful' first flight.

Lol. What fantasy. Based on what? Nothing. Cite your source if you have the balls.

Biden doesn’t have billions, certainly not Hunter. None of them. Not all combined. Just utter nonsense. Again, cite your source if you aren’t a coward spouting lies you’re making up on the spot.
The $2 billion no show contract the Saudis bribed Jared with, that’s real, is public record, and is being investigated as major fraud/bribery.

Hunter, the guy you say is a crazed crack head, flawlessly launders billions of dollars through international banks for Joe, miraculously leaving absolutely no trace at all. The most perfect, untraceable, impossible crime in history.

Sounds a lot like the perfect, flawlessly performed election fraud you still believe where, with no evidence whatsoever left behind, Joe managed the biggest, most complicated, most convoluted, most scrutinized con ever in history from his basement that was so undeniably perfect that the right and hundreds of millions wasted on fake investigations can’t come up with a single tiny shred of evidence almost two years later.

If you really believe the Bidens are such absolutely perfect masterminds, why wouldn’t you want them in charge working for America?….

…..it’s because you don’t really believe any of it, you’re just throwing infantile tantrums and screaming insults as fast as your little brain can think them up, never considering the implications of your stupid accusations. You spout this ridiculous stupidity and say I’m blinded from reality!?! ROTFLMFAHS!!!, 😂

Hunter just launders his family money for the "big guy"

Hardly elitist at under $35k per year for a couple in California.
Not even superior overall as far as I know, (overall superiority is a complicated non standardized judgement to make without complete information about both of us, but thanks for saying you believe it.).
Just somewhat educated not even highly educated, but often more importantly I keep myself decently informed. Sorry to burst your bubble.
(Edit: this means not only learning the facts, but also the “alternative facts”. I read Tzu, and believe in his theory that if you know yourself and your enemy you will be victorious in every battle.)

It’s the smug ignorant incorrect certitude I can’t go for, and you exhibit it daily without ever admitting your mistakes or that you were w-w-w-wrong, just silently moving on to the next falsehood when it’s proven.

Amish response to covid

Buttle says...

For children covid is just not bad at all, almost no chance of serious complications. Taking a vaccine based on brand new technology never before used in humans is, in my opinion, just not worth the risk for them.

newtboy said:

Sweet zombie Jesus, compared to the side effects of getting covid, the risk with vaccination is statistically zero.
Permanent heart, lung, blood vessel, kidney, eye, and/or brain damage, and death just for starters.

The occurrence rate of side effects is almost certainly orders of magnitude larger with the disease….but admittedly I can’t find trustworthy numbers for either.

Specifically for Myocarditis …. 37 “reported cases” after 82 million vaccinations, vs 450 cases per 1 million infections….
“Myocarditis (or pericarditis or myopericarditis) from primary COVID19 infection occurred at a rate as high as 450 per million in young males. Young males infected with the virus are up 6 times more likely to develop myocarditis as those who have received the vaccine”.- https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34341797/

Why I’m ALL-IN On Tesla Stock

vil says...

Yes but to converge the two sides have to acknowledge the arguments of the other side, unfortunately I am probably not arguing well enough and Im perfectly willing to just give up.

Anyway you seem to be able to research complicated topics well, you can read up about the history and end of the gold standard and about deflation for your own sake in your own time :-)

Fighting against fiat money, reserve banks, inflation and national debt is like fighting against democracy or free speech.
Sometimes democracy gives you Trump, sometimes free speech gives you porn (or worse, Fox news), sometimes the economy gets out of hand, but mostly these things work better than their alternatives and prevent or minimize crashes, based on the experience of the last 200 years. Every time someone thought better, they made things worse.

No, the point of discussion to come to an understanding IMO, not to just argue.

Why I’m ALL-IN On Tesla Stock

vil says...

That is the point of discussion, right?

I know a true gold standard is inferior to a well functioning reserve bank issuing paper money and an international exchange standard based on mutual trade agreements.

I am not sure I can explain it well or convince you, but I like you so I try.

Unfortunately the matter seems to be complicated.

The fact that something has, as you put it, "real" value is actually a bad thing, as clipping gold coins is as old as gold coins.

So let us assume gold coins are out and we are going to use some form of symbolic money...

Nope this will not fit in this thread.

Nah, IQ tests are good at measuring how good you are at taking IQ tests

I don't run into many multiple choice A B C D very clear options in my life.
The problems i face are always ill-defined, always complicated/multifaceted, and involve variables that are extremely unpredictable.

The biggest advocates of IQ tests are people trying to sell them to you. Or people with inflated egos.

If you brought it up, just remember a few twists and turns in your life and you could be as deluded as Bob is. I'm by no means perfefect either, but I try to keep in mind how much my dad loved Fox growing up and how I used to admire Bill O'Reilly for 'not taking crap from people' - i later came to realize that the theme of that thinking is zero empathy for the other guy.

So even when I step over my own lines these days, I still try to say what I'd want anyone else to say to me if I were acting LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT WHO DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF

And I'd want my bad behavior pointed out. We should do an ole' fashioned roast around here to settle some things.

Here,I'll start.

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------

So I was fucking @bobknight33 in the ass recently. Not in a gay way, like a viking. And the twirl he did on the end of my cock with his tongue. I mean you really know he cares about YOU when he does things like that. I don't know what I was thinking before, that this man didnt care.

newtboy said:

To be fair, I brought up IQ when Bob accused me of being “stupid as shit” before going on to mangle his next sentence.

The only thing I think IQ measures is problem solving ability. It is not a good indicator for future success, happiness, knowledge, experience, morality, or opportunities. Far from an end all measure, but it can be a decent measure of expected limitations in certain arenas. It would not surprise me to find out that the school I went to in Texas had fairly high minimum IQ score requirements. The classes were all accelerated and well above grade level, and I’m sure they wouldn’t accept a below average intelligence student and doom them to failure.
And yes, I understand there are numerous examples of IQ and biased testing being used to separate, subjugate, and denigrate groups of people….my school may have used them to deny many non white applicants….it was a prep school in Texas.

Way too complicated. I’ll never get all that right. I’m just sticking with the Kool Aid Man method of crashing through the wall. Simple, but effective…and it works on left and right hand walls.
