Police State Watch: All Ages Curfew

iaui says...

I found it interesting that the entire time the mayor is talking half of the frame (which is less than half of the screen space, because of the ticker on the bottom) is taken up by a huge rotating, flashing blue 'news giver' and then when the lawyer is speaking there is no such thing. Just shots of him and wider shots of the interviewer and the mayor. The shot goes from a feeling of claustrophobia during the mayor to being intrinsically open.

Wrestler gets mobbed takes on fans

Sagemind says...

Common, They were mobing him, He was the Victom.
Ever seen someone with Claustrophobia? They're doing fine until they are surrounded, then everything starts closing in, panic sets in and it's all they can do to get out of the situation.

My wife gets this all the time. She will be sitting on the chair wraped in a cozy blanket, then one child will climb up on her, trapping her, then the other child will climb up and sit on the arm of he chair over top of her... Then my wife begins to feel it, and she asks the kids to get down, they don't. Then she tells them to get off, they don't Then She tells them to get off, right now, they still don't (they are kids after all). She then starts to tense up, closing her eyes and and then BAM she squirms and tries to bolt out of the chair, both kids fly to the floor, bouncing. as my wifefranticly tries to get free of the blanket.

She would never try to hurt the kids, of course, but when that panic sets in, and she says get off, it's because her world is closing in, and panic is taking over.

This wrestler guy was pinned down, he couldn't go anywhere... He was trapped, no security and panic set in. Was he bigger, yes. Was he bigger than the entire mob surrounding him, absolutely not. Did he have a clear path out of the mob, no he didn't. People don't always have a choice on their reactions when this happens, instinct just says "Get Out, Fast"!

So he tried!

International Space Station (ISS) Tour (4 parts)

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

This is great. Could we get it together in a YT playlist?

My thought on watching this is that it's incredibily ugly inside. It must be like living inside a poorly cobbled together desktop PC.

I know engineers rule there, but could they not hire one interior designer to help out with some visual aesthetics and create a sense of space instead of claustrophobia?

Tumbleweed tiny houses: living in a small house

raven says...

These houses are fascinating, I've been looking at them for some time now as well, but I can't help but think that were I to try and live in one, I would go absolutely batshit insane from the claustrophobia... especially in the winter, I've read of people who live in them year round, I don't know how they do it.

Dirty Jobs - Cleaning a KC-135 Tanker

Aquavista 500

pho3n1x says...

after thinking about it, i wish i'd have remained neutral in my vote. 4.4 inches?! talk about fish-claustrophobia. at least 5-6 inches is what i would think should be minimum, i mean, the fish aren't 2d... if you want the 'flatscreen television' look for an aquarium, inset a 6 inch tank into the wall...
