What Was Happening Before the Big Bang?
You should check out PBS Space Time on YouTube then
I love Brian; he is a pillar of the physics community. However, in the interest of time, he only got into Hawkin's shuttlecock interpretation.
There are others such Paul Steinhardt Eternal Inflation, and the universe being born out of black/white hole as described in the Penrose diagrams.
General relativity math is solid, but no one really knows how to interpret the singularity (if there is such a thing).
Totally agree.
This is extremely fascinating.

I believe in Brian. And Stan.
I believe in a guy named Jesus, he could walk on water when it freezes, and turn water into wine using his vineyard, but his mom was no virgin and his dad was a human being. Am I good?
A Scary Time
The alleged victim's testimony was the extent of the prosecution's case against Perry and Counts. There was no physical evidence linking them to the crime.

It was Banks’ word against hers and she was not likely to change her story. After all, Gibson sued the Long Beach Unified School District claiming the school’s lax security provided an unsafe environment that led to the fraudulent rape. She would eventually receive a settlement of 1.5 million dollars.
Brian Banks was faced with an impossible decision at the time – either fight the charges and risk spending 41 years-to-life in prison, or take a plea deal and spend a little over 5 years of actual prison confinement. Although it would mean destroying his chance to go to college and play football, a lengthy probationary period, and a lifetime of registration as a sex offender, Banks chose the lesser of two evils when he pleaded no contest to the charges.

I'd look up more, but I have to go pick up my wife from work.
You can totally be against both. Most reasonable people are.
What you shouldn't do is assume that they are both equally bad and equally prevalent (important note: I'm not saying @bcglorf is doing this.... but other people are definitely doing this).
Obviously, a false accusation of rape is a terrible thing. In the most extreme circumstances, it can lead to having years of your life taken away in prison. But sexual assault is a life sentence, you will carry that to your grave.
Second, as I've pointed out before, the idea that we're seeing an epidemic of false accusations is not supported by evidence. The numbers are hard to come by, but it's not even 1% of actual rapes (nevermind lesser sexual assault like groping, etc).
Finally, where is the abandoning of proof and evidence? Show me someone who has been convicted of sexual assault without any evidence. There's a big difference between accepting an allegation is worth looking into and convicting that person.
If a woman (or a man) comes forward with a claim of sexual assault, they are entitled to be taken seriously. That doesn't mean their alleged assailant is guilty though.
IMO, the real issue here is one of deflection. Trump and his cronies are basically inventing this narrative of victimhood where women are on the lookout for men to falsely accuse of rape, which is patently bullshit.

Flynn lied to the FBI. A mistake or deliberate.. don't know. This would be a process crime not a Russian collision link.
Still this is a side story of little direct impact to POTUS.
Yet Brian Ross suspended 4 weeks for lying on air and misleading false hoods about this.
Still the witch hunt will continue ..
Keep spewing your Trolling POV -- No one believes this story and all know it is BS.
I believe if I recall correctly you implied an IQ of mid / high 130s.
I also believe you indicated that you are in one of the lower tax brackets.
Why would a poor man with such an IQ be here? Righting justice where ever wrong doing exist? Or are you 1 of those Russian trolls?????????????
They, and other news organizations (so probably not Fox) are back on it today, since Flynn plead guilty to lying to the fbi about colluding with Russian diplomats, specifically his repeatedly "secretly" (so he thought) violating the Logan act, at the direct direction of and reporting back to the campaign/transition leader(s)...which means Trump himself.
Maybe they're hoping this will distract from the failed secret attempt at making abortion illegal with their tax bill which would have codified fetal personhood, a huge step towards making any abortion murder, on top of raising taxes on anyone making under $75k by up to 30% and lowering taxes for millionaires. Good thing they're so incompetent that the tax bill was illegal, or abortion could be ended today by a scam and a lie.

The deeply conservative (!) "Die Welt" in Germany has two pieces by Sy Hersh, completely debunking the supposed chemical attack by the Syrians at Khan Sheikhoun. It also paints a highly disturbing picture of the decision-making process in both the White House and the Pentagon.
The first one is a rather short conversation that includes all the goodies: the chemical attack in Syria was, once again, not a chemical attack by Syrian forces -- they hit a stash, just like both the Syrians and the Russians claimed at the time.
The piece also details that US forces are keenly aware that it was not a chemical attack, that the response (Tomahawk strike on Syrian airfield) was equally ridiculous and dangerous, and that the bellicose stance of the US vis-a-vis Russia is complete lunacy.
The longer piece by Hersh himself and displays in great details the disconnect between Trump and his military advisers, as well as between the upper echelons of the military and the troops in the region.
Just a snippet about the strike itself:
And the media went along for the ride, for the umpteenth time. Remember Brian Williams fawning about the beauty of the weapons?
At some point, this volatile mixture of warmongering and McCarthyism is going to start WW3, and they'll blame it on the Russians.
I think this quote illustrates the issue quite nicely:
“Did the Syrians plan the attack on Khan Sheikhoun? Absolutely. Do we have intercepts to prove it? Absolutely. Did they plan to use sarin? No. But the president did not say: ‘We have a problem and let’s look into it.’ He wanted to bomb the shit out of Syria.”
This Statue Is Weird
He appears to be about 46 years old, so should still be kicking around.
I wonder if the original sculptor is still alive to see this? I really hope so.
