What If - Super Mario Bros. had Achievements

MilkmanDan says...

Seems about right.

I hate "achievements" in games, but one similar system that I actually loved was in Baldur's Gate (1 and 2). In those games, there was a window that tracked all kinds of stats for each of your party members. Stuff like percentage of total party kills, percentage of total damage output, strongest enemy killed, etc. A few games since have done things similar (Borderlands comes to mind), but most seem to opt for this sort of pointless achievement nonsense.

7 Absurd Uses of DLC that Will Make Your Blood Boil

00Scud00 says...

I wouldn't say all DLC is bad, some of it is fine and is pretty much just the modern term for expansion pack. I thought most of the Skyrim DLC was fine (except Hearth Fires I can download way better player palaces than what you could build with that), and a lot of the Borderlands 1 and 2 stuff was decent as well. Horse armor aside, Shivering Isles for Elder Scrolls Oblivion pretty awesome too.

I've never paid for DLC, and I never will. Screw those bastards. This crap is why I don't purchase games anymore, I rent them and run through them in a week or less (some games in one day, they're so short). If they can make GTA profitable selling it at $60 for the full game, there's no excuse.
...but if people are dumb enough to pay twice what the game cost for some DLC, I can hardly blame companies for providing it.

Functional Copper Clad Steampunk .22 Gatling Gun

00Scud00 says...

And just like a lot of those Gatling guns in Borderlands 2 it barely starts to spin up and it's already out of ammo, useless.
But neat otherwise.

You can be shot by an unloaded gun

00Scud00 jokingly says...

Damn, and I thought that gun that fired exploding swords in Borderlands 2 was awesome, I want of of these.

What she means is that there are HUGE guns that actually use handguns as projectiles instead of bullets as is classically the case. She is right, it doesn't matter if the handgun is loaded or not, you can still be shot by one.
