Tallest Mohawk - Guinness World Records

BSR says...

My hair ends just below the top of my shoulder blades. As a kid my parental units insisted on a "crew cut" which I always hated. It exposed a small bald spot on the back of my head which seemed to make my siblings always want to poke at it. Once I escaped parental captivity I said goodbye bald spot forever.

I was never interested in sporting a Mohawk.

Meet the Tesla Cybertruck

Source please. I can't find anything that says he mentions Blade Runner regarding the car.

I read it was from The James Bond Car (Lotus) in the movie The Spy Who Loved Me. A car he purchased at auction. https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-cybertruck-inspired-james-bond-lotus-elon-musk-won-auction-2019-11

I have to agree. It still looks like a prototype. On the other hand, it will probably attract preppers.

He got the idea from the Blade Runner car.

What's with the henchmen? This has got to be one of the ugliest cars ever made. A Delorian has more character. It looks like a Cylon fucked a door stop.

Mother and Son Witness Tornado Touching Down

bremnet says...

I've been in every type of winter storm you can name (from Canada eh!), sandstorms in Saudi, monsoons in Thailand, typhoons in the Philippines, several wet seasons in northern Australia, and a fair few hurricanes here in Texas. But tornadoes - the tricky unpredictable bastards that you can't predict, plan for or gear up for, Mother Nature's switch blade, are the only things out there that freak me out.

"Holy shit, this is crazy" is the right response.

Grim Reaper On His Quad Of Doom

Drachen_Jager says...

This probably needs an EIA too.

Attaching a bunch of sharp blades to your wheel hubs may seem funny, until metal fatigue causes you to throw one in a random direction.

Also... What happens when he falls off?

Also also... No helmet?

Caterpillar D9G donkey start and unloading

newtboy says...

Seems odd a donkey engine uses a pony motor to start.
Where's the chicken brake on that thing?
Does it come with a pig iron blade?
Third generic barnyard themed question?

How the Pink Tax Is Ripping Off Women

eric3579 says...

I'm pretty sure that the women paid twenty cents on the dollar comment is highly debatable. My understanding was that when you actually compared apples to apples it was around six or seven percent. Still not zero where it should be but also not twenty as was stated. (edit) John says 4-8% https://videosift.com/video/Is-the-Gender-Pay-Gap-Real

And just for fun i wanted to check the prices myself for the items in the video.

The CVS Menstrual pain medication they compared are NOT the same.
The menstrual product has Acetaminophen AND two additional ingredients

The razors are not on CVS website but are on BICS website. Comparing prices of the two products shown in the video, the "womens" one was actually cheaper by fifty cents. Also can't be sure that the razors they are comparing are exactly the same. Probably close enough though.

The same kids snorkel i found on Amazon. The one shop who actually has it in pink and also has two other colors are selling them for the same price.

The baby walker i found on Wallmarts site, and the pink one cost more. The other has been discounted from its original price.

blue/green https://www.walmart.com/ip/Delta-Children-Lil-Fun-Walker-Choose-Your-Color/50862051?selected=true

The Underwear were as stated in the video. Different quantity at the same price.

Well that was a fun little project

Boston Dynamics mechanical ostrich seems ready to go

spawnflagger says...

These pallets are often covered with layers of moving-wrap (thick saran wrap) - are these ostriches fitted with a knife blade?

I wonder how much weight is inside these demo boxes? If they are empty, it's not that realistic of a demo, but if they have some weight inside, then it's very impressive!

Paris’ Traveling Knife Grinder

mxxcon says...

I'm always so disappointed in these "great big stories" videos.
They have such amazing, interesting subjects, videos are so professionally shot, but they all end up being too short and not really getting into the meat of things
This video should've been AT LEAST 15min long if not good 30+.
They could've shown how he sharpens different knifes, blades, etc etc, what customers think of him, etc. All their videos are such wasted opportunities

Master Locks With INEXCUSABLE Design Flaws

Ginrummy33 says...

Very telling that this is all just one take, no apparent edits. I'm a little more forgiving of the weird key-tool ones, but the plain blade openning ones are pretty bad.

We Believe: The Best Men Can Be - Gillette Ad

ChaosEngine says...

Hell, I might go replace my mach3 that I’ve had for nearly 20 years. Because clearly I need five fucking blades

newtboy said:

Gillette is betting on the theory that they will gain far more new customers than they lose over this.....just like Nike using Kaepernick. It worked for Nike despite the over the top vocal outrage and videos of burning $500 sneakers, I think Gillette expects similar results.

"Nice Shoes"

moonsammy says...

"Robot" on the guitar pedal doesn't seem to be a reference to anything in particular, but the "R" is lifted from the Ryobi power tools logo.

I agree with Blade Runner for the origami, Edward James Olmos' character has a thing with them.

I'd add that the shots at 3:03 and 3:20 are also straight from Buckaroo Banzai.

eric3579 said:

Things i'd like answered...

1:18 The ROBOT sign seems familiar. Probably due to the font and particularly the "R".

2:42 What is the Oragami and toy car from? Also is Quark from something?
