My laymans guess as to why it didn't tip is that the building is divided into floors, if more than one half of one floor collapsed, the entire floor will collapse almost instantly,(it would already have been weakened and possibly bent by the extra weight and the heat and explosion) and then you basically have 2/5ths of a WTC tower smacking into the floor below, causing instant collapse of that, and the next, and the next..

Hard to say this to you Rougy, but I agree.

I've only watched the first clip so far, but it is the first video account I've seen that finally goes after the real problem of the occupation. The failure to implement martial law after the fall of Baghdad.

What's worse, is that everyone should have known and expected things to go exactly as they did in the absence of martial law. Instead, Cheney and Feith deliberately and repeatedly refused to prepare any plans for a post war Iraq involving lawlessness or sectarian violence. They should be shot for that alone.

That said, Saddam had done far worse things to the Iraqi people, repeatedly and deliberately over the last several decades and Iraqis are better off for his removal. I still support the Iraq invasion, despite my enormous and vehement criticisms and problems with the following occupation.

If you oppose war, than the volunteer army shouldn't be appealing at all. Conscription armies make war less justifiable. It encourages opposition to the war both within and outside government.

In fact, this is one of my primary complaints about the modern military, and particularly the unmanned drones. It makes war far too easy a sell. If it was going to mean Jenna Bush walking through the streets of Baghdad with no body armor, and the flag of the invader plastered all over herself, do you really think we'd be in two wars?
