Junkyard Turbo Chevy Datsun 240Z Autocross Thrash - Roadkill

enoch says...

i did some mural work years ago and they paid me some cash and a modified 77 280Z.

and when i say modified,i mean MODIFIED.
brand new straight 6 with a cam,1800 stall converter and porsche transmission and linkage.

it looked very similar to the 240 in this video.
was a total rust bucket.
the suspension was toast and the u-joints were all bad.
no muffler....just a straight pipe ..yeah..that baby was LOUD.
chug chug CHUG chug chug....
didnt even have a key for the ignition, started it with a screwdriver.

but holy hell could it move on a straight away.
mustang GT's were my favorite to embarrass.
i would stay with em till they hit 4th gear (round 50 mph) and i would hit second, chirp the tires and wave...buh bye....

man,now that i think about it...
how am i still alive?
damn car was a death trap.

Michael Hastings: Police and Fire TOLD not to comment

Engels says...

And a Merc isn't a sports car, its a luxury vehicle. Think German Cadillac, not German Mustang. Some Mercs are sporty, but not many, and its not the primary selling point.

It is the best of the best in the old-man vehicle line of cars.

Dyno Goes Bye Bye

Payback says...

Mustangs have live axles. The right wheel is on the ground, the left is still on top of the dyno. The rear roller of the dyno --what the right wheel WAS sitting on, and the left wheel sorta still is-- is sticking straight out the back.

Destroyed dyno, probably not much damage to the Mustang.

Upvote for the rear roller still spinning 30 seconds after meltdown...

Looks like the left rear suspension or axle went 'bye bye' as well.

How to Unlock your Car in 10 Seconds

skinnydaddy1 says...

It does not matter. I stopped locking the doors on the car a few years back and they still break in. I keep nothing in it and have even stopped bolting the stock radios in it. Break ins - 23, Keyed - 4, egged - 5, radios stolen - 9. Wheels stolen - 6, Hit by others 7, Hit by thrown objects - 9, Tail lights broken 3.
Police could not figure out why the car kept being targeted and it was not until a few people had been caught that we found out why.

reasons
1. Make and model of car - 98 Honda Civic hx
It seems a large number of people have a massive hatred of Japanese cars or ricers as they like to call them.
Car is not modified in anyway other than after market tail lights. They were 30 bucks and far far cheaper than stock after someone broke the others. Bought the car after a soccer mom parked her SUV on my mustang and I wanted a car with much better MPG and the HX got 39 hwy.

2. Street I live on.
It is the only strait cut through from one road to another so people cutting through see the car all the time. "Oh look we can do something and be miles away before the owners get outside"

Its gone from being a nice little car. To a something being held together with duct tape and with my current job situation means I'm stuck with it for awhile to come.

so what this and other videos have taught me.

1. don't bother locking your car doors.
2. don't leave anything you like inside your car.
3. pray that no one uses your car as a restroom.

Misinformation, Fear, And Hate In America

quantumushroom says...

I'm sure a similar laundry list of accomplishments far and wide could be made about any president. America will be feeling the positive effects of the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act and proposal for a new refuge for wild mustangs for years to come.

Mind you, this the best Obama can do with 90% of the media unjournalists taking his side, never vetting him, never asking hard questions or questioning policy...

Where it counts, this President doesn't cut it. And why is there still no budget? It can't be because of the Republican minority in Congress.

Hey, I could be wrong, and the mob will decide in November that government dependency and not working are now more rewarding than the opposite.

As for why the current problems persist:

"The endless proliferation of anti-business interventions by government, and the sight of more of the same coming over the horizon from Barack Obama's appointees in the federal bureaucracies, creates the one thing that has long stifled economic activity in countries around the world -- uncertainty about what the rules of the game are, and the unpredictability of how specifically those rules will continue to change in a hostile political environment." --T. Sowell

Yeah, what has Obama done anyway aside from put up with all this ridiculous nonsense?>> ^quantumushroom:
Don't y'all wish you could simply point to Obama's successful record instead of resorting to this?
Higher taxes and demonizing the rich (who pay the lion's share of income taxes while the bottom 50% pay nothing) haven't worked.
Massive government spending hasn't worked.
Weak, indecisive leadership in dealing with our enemies (and allies!) hasn't worked.
The only reason there aren't riots over Obamacare is the new taxes are on a delayed fuse.
Obes doesn't deserve a second term, and didn't deserve a first term (neither did McLame, but the lesser of two evils...)

One Pimped Up Ford Mustang

How do people this (presumably) stupid afford such things?

It is their parents money more than likely. Some well off parents prefer to not raise their kids than to put the time into it. Likewise they give them lots of money to make up for lack of being a good parent.

I am sure we can come up with some other scenarios as to why these fly guys have paper to burn. I was laughing at the guy trying to take out his big wads of one dolla billz, and his pants falling down even more because of the molestation trying to get that wallet out. Take a little of that wad a get a belt son. Your style makes you look like a goof ball.

what's his point here? It's a beautiful ship because what came before it was some sort of saucer from the <garble mumble> movie?

The original "The Day the Earth Stood Still". The silver-undies-wearing guy he refers to would probably be Gort. I think his point would be NCC-1701 is a "revolutionary" step from previous "space ships" as opposed to NCC-1701-A, which is an "evolutionary" step. Sorta the 1964 1/2 Mustang compared to the 1968/69.
