This isn't Star Trek!!! Where the hell are the lens flares and sword-fights in the sky!

I got about 10 seconds in and decided to make a lens flare crack in the comments, but I see you already had that covered -- in far better fashion than I would have.

ugh I'm so sick of the inception style BRRAAAGGGHHHHH drone that seems to be used in every trailer these days. Also J.J. Abrams is a good director no doubt, but pioneering? What exactly did he pioneer? The overuse of lens flares?

This was awesome though. I really wish they would make a Half-Life movie (as long as it's not directed by Uwe Boll or Paul W.S. Anderson).

Lens flare - the sun happens to be rather bright! Is also very likely to be residual afterimages on the sensor - it's hard to properly handle the vast amounts of light involved.

I took a couple of images myself with my SLR - had I not used three layers of ND-filters as well as post-processed the Raw files, I would have had to use shutter speeds of about 1/8000000th of a second - a thousand times faster than my camera is capable of.

Needs a little more lens flare.

Pffft, jja is a one trick hack who can never deliver anything worth while, because all he cares about is having a carrot dangling over people who pay to watch him dangling it while adding more lens flares.

I love how they included the J.J. Abrams signature "unnecessary lens flare" effect. Nice touch.

I have heard this issue so many times and honestly I rarely notice the lens flare. But I can understand people not liking it. I get annoyed at bourne trilogy shaky camera work. both are have the exact same underlining problem; If you cant see what is going on, you defeat the purpose of the movie.

They forgot to mention that all action scenes must take place at sunset, and all night time scenes must have tons of blue anamorphic fucking lens flare all over the goddamn place.

After turds like Nemesis and Insurrection the franchise was DOA.

Amazing as it seems, Trek fans alone cannot make a Trek movie profitable. You need to reach moviegoers with girlfriends.
