Hillbilly Neighbor Is Pissed About New Dog And Trampoline

eric3579 says...

First off why the fuck does she video the interaction with her neighbor when discussing these neighbor issues? If you ask me that's provoking all on it's own. That's not what good neighbors do to resolve issues.

Kids on trampoline always peepin what you're doing is kinda annoying but barking dogs piss me off. If your defense is "that's what dogs do" then fuck you. If your dogs are barking outside at 6:30am bring the fucker in. I love animals, but dogs that constantly bark in close neighborhoods are a nuisance. End of barking dog rant.

Also that hillbilly hair is amazing and she fixes her bike with duct tape. These things score huge points with me

(edit) okay after watching more vids from this women's channel which are ALL of her neighbor, i think that Billy is a bit off and difficult to be neighbors with. Also with as many views as this woman gets from her videos shes making a nice chunk of change. Just sayin'. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWtCqWbJOO0VqzDX4AX3eKg/videos?disable_polymer=1

DAIRY IS F**KING SCARY! The industry explained in 5 minutes

newtboy says...

My point. Honesty would go a long way, much farther than exaggeration to make a point. Things are bad enough without any need for exaggeration clouding the waters. The video strongly implied that this is how all milk is produced, while, as you indicated, as much as 50% is not produced using these methods. Those 50% should be mentioned, IMO, and applauded for taking the extra time and effort to give their animals a better, at least comfortable if not free, life.

Your stats sound like a reason to buy milk...from local smaller producers. Otherwise only the giant factory farms that are invariably the worst at care for the animals will be left. A better solution in my eyes is to support those doing it 'right'.

Your stats are confusing. In one paragraph, you say that 50% of milk is made by 'smaller' (<500 cow-'good') farms, then you have other statistics about tiny (<100 cow) farms. If under 500 cow farms are USUALLY the "good" kind, why mention the under 100 cow stat, unless it's just to show how few there are in what's likely the 'best' category? (or is it to include my family's farm techniques in the equation, since we've discussed it before?...so you know, we had 200+- head on 300 acres when we had them, free range...now we (well, they, I moved to California) have about 100+- angora goats) Again, the second set of stats would also seem to me to be a good argument for supporting local, small farmers that take much better care of their animals (and produce a better product), rather than a good reason to boycott farm products altogether....but that's just me.

EDIT: Can we agree that the tactic of, without warning, showing horrid animal abuse to people who love animals is not a good way to get them on your side?

It's not all dairy farms, but it's most. See http://www.ers.usda.gov/media/430528/err47b_1_.pdf or page 7 of http://usda.mannlib.cornell.edu/usda/nass/sb/sb978.pdf (note my requirement of .edu not some blowhard blogger).

Namely:
The number of dairy farms with fewer than 500 cows (your "good places") has decreased significantly and the number with more than 500 has increased majorly. And those farms with more than 500 account for 50% of the milk made.

So, yeah. There are some good farms out there. But the number is shrinking and they're unable to compete with the large factory farms.

Also, from one of the docs cited above:
In 2000, about 71.1 percent of production came from
operations of 100 or more cows, up from 55.2 percent
in 1993. Production from the smallest herds, not a
large share to begin with, fell by about half—from 4.1
to 2 percent

Rather than refute any of the other claims above, I'll just leave it at this. I have vegan exhaustion. My point is that these aren't just made up vegan facts from PETA, these are studies by the USDA.

Aside from the fun of hunting it is also MUCH more environmentaly friendly. Hunters were among the first environmental conservationists, they understand that if you kill them all nothing will be there next year.

Factory farming is a horrible life for an animal.

I am such a hypocryte in my own mind because I eat meat, love the idea of hunting my own, but love animals and I'm not sure I could take a healthy one out even with my own arguments.

I hate that I was brought up "thinking" that meat is grown in white styrofoam with plastic wrap.

We should close factory farms and teach people how to hunt again.

This snapping turtle can climb fences!

OK people.. For starters, if you have never been around a snapping turtle, especially a 25-30 pound snapping turtle, you need to back off with the hate talk as to why I didnt jump right in and "help" him over the fence. This dude had a neck that comes out nearly a foot at lightening fast speed. His head is the size of a baseball.. Dont let the slow moving body fool you. These things can be NASTY as hell when you mess with them. You just dont walk over and pet it, or try to pick it up. The claws on his feet are razor sharp and about an inch long. Those feet are INCREDIBLY strong. My plan was to relocate him to the Mississippi River after work that day so he wouldnt EAT the newly hatched baby ducks and baby geese on the pond in the background. When I came back an hour or so later, he did finally make it over the fence and is now back into the pond. So far, the ducks and geese are fine. All are still accounted for.
He crawled into this fenced in enclosure sometime during the night, I found him the next morning just crawling along the interior of the fence just looking for a way out. I had NO IDEA these critters scaled fences or anything else for that matter. If you notice, the beginning of the video, how far away I am? I wasnt "waiting" for him to climb.. I just saw it in progress and started recording.. I didnt know he was going to fall either, nor did I make him fall. I just thought this was something super crazy so I recorded it for everybody to see. In a matter of 2 weeks, it has been seen nearly 60,000 times on YouTube.
I love animals just as much as anybody else and would never do anything to harm this turtle. So please knock off the "Prick" and the "WTF".. The turtle is very happy where he's at and Im sure will be there a long time..
Thanks,
Todd

welcome to Sift
No need to be defensive about your video. Even though comments might sound harsh, they are not so much comments on you but more for other Sifter's humor.
Right now your video is ranked #17. With a few more votes it'll get bumped to top 15 and then it'll get a lot more exposure. Not many people have the honor/luck of getting up there.

Dead Squirrel, Little Girl and a Video Camera

poolcleaner says...

A dead squirrel ain't shit. I used to shoot these things with a bb gun when I was a kid. Some people get paid to kill them. My grandfather was paid to kill a cute fluffy bunny infestation while my aunt (then 6) waited in the car watching. My girlfriend's father was paid to kill cat infestations when he lived in Vietnam. The internet simultaneously made everyone smart and stupid as fuck. (I love animals, but I also devour their flesh with no sympathy. Have you ever watched your cat kill a bird? Now that's cruelty.)

Genuine psychopath caught on camera

Hive13 says...

It seems she has been indentified and people are actually protesting her house.

"Thanks to the powers of viral video, a British woman who unceremoniously dumped a cat in a garbage can has been caught. Mary Bale became an Internet villain after the cat’s owners posted security video of her first petting Lola, then dropping her into the trash can for no apparent reason. Lola was recovered—alive—15 hours later, and police identified Bale, who is being investigated by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the New York Times reports.

Angry people have gathered outside Bale’s house, police say, but Bale doesn’t know “what the fuss is about,” she tells the Daily Mail. “It’s just a cat.” Her mother insists Bale “loves animals” and that “she can’t explain why she did it,” but Bale herself had no trouble giving the Mail an explanation: “I did it as a joke because I thought it would be funny. I never thought it would be trapped, I expected it to wriggle out.”"

Why I Love Anime

entr0py says...

It makes perfect sense when you realize the anime is about a physically abusive angel and her friend, a human who is unable to be killed. As an anime fan, I really didn't care for or watch the series.

Hmm, no that really just piles on more crazy.
