In general I agree a person should [for their own sake at the very least] shut the fuck up and do as instructed by police.

However, that is secondary to the well-being of the [real or fictional] fetus in the suspect's womb.

Many people, regardless of race, gender, or station in life, have little control over their temper and go ape-shit nuts ignoring the authority of law enforcement. In 99% of the cases, I'd say the officer is right to tase or use force against the offender to achieve compliance, however this is the 1% where I feel someone has to be concerned with the safety of the unborn child.

Even if the mother is too dipshit crazy to be able to put her baby's safety ahead of her outrage, at least the sanity of an officer should come into play and beat her up in a way that they won't be jeopardizing the safety of the fetus.

Don't obey an officer's orders repeatedly and dare to resist? Get tased. Get wrestled to the ground. Get kneed in the back. Hell, even get into a choke hold.

But pregnant, unarmed, and presenting no physical threat? Break her arm and punch her in the face if you have to, officers. Just avoid the taser and physical trauma to the uterus region in general.

(I know; radicals will say the baby doesn't deserve to be born into the world with a mother who is too dipshit to obey officers, but I think it deserves a fair chance at life [or at least not to be potentially murdered for its mother's disobedience].)

I get the enjoyment of sitting around watching bears and deer in the wild, and I love archery and shooting sports, but I don't understand being happy about killing an animal. Maybe if I'd wrestled it or something.

#7 - Roughhousing with your kids allows you to demonstrate your strength. There's nothing that reinforces respect than showing that all three of them together can't beat you in arm wrestling, or you can do pushups with them all on your back. The next time you have to growl at them for something they should be doing, they move just a little bit faster.

Hmm No one yelling "Drill baby Drill". This is what they wanted right? Oil flowing like water down the streets. Throw in some babes in bikinis wrestling some music and a few assault rifles and you have Republican Heaven on earth.

Firstly, what odds? Study please.

Secondly, if she has it out and is using it - i.e. she is firing the gun and bullets are hitting her assailant - then I doubt he's going to be able to ninja his way out of the bullet holes leaking his life blood out of his body and/or disabling his central nervous system, wrestle the gun off of her, then shoot her with it.

2 older gentlemen on the heavy side guarding a door. Seriously you needed a taser? Seems to me these guys are just not fit for the position.

I work with a few security guards downtown that deal with all sorts of drug addicts, drunks, crazy people and outright idiots. They aren't issued anything.
I hear stories of them wrestling guys to the ground almost every week.

I don't think they were justified in using the taser, but only because it was too early. I don't think he'd crossed that line yet where any physical action was needed.

But if you think a pile of guys wrestling him to the ground would have been safer (for him or them), I have to disagree.

I definately wouldn't say that a taser is a "lazy cops" method. A taser prevents secondary targets from being affected (unlike pepper spray) and the cop in question definitely did not want to get into a wrestling match with the suspect while wearing a suit (where it would be unlikely that he would be able to control the situation). The suspect was warned and refused to back down.

As for cops in general being lazy, again I say no. I have two state police officers for friends and at lest with the Indiana state troopers the line is drawn when the possibility of injury to the officer would exceed the possibility of injury to the suspect from the taser. If its an old dude or someone who appears to have health issues they are obviously going to use more restraint than some young punk kid who will suffer some pain but will be back on his feet shortly.

I did this throughout my whole childhood. Started in the late 70s, before we had the metal chutes, so the adults would have to rope them and wrestle them down like old-school cowboys. I had to watch this just to see if anythings changed. Looked like he had an electric iron, which is new to me (we still used fire last time I did it), and the one, most gruesome thing the video didn't cover was what you did when you got a male calf.
Interesting though. How antiquated of a practice is this anyhow? It was originally used to identify your cattle so no one stole them, but does that still happen??

I'd maybe, be faintly interested in anything to do with professional wrestling, if the acting were ever better than fifth graders.

Johnson does a decent job in his movies...at least as well as John Wayne ever did. He seems to only have one character in his repertoire...likely his own, but he does do that one role well. However, he apparently -can- sing a decent tune. Surprise!

Even when it comes to his movies, I only watch because my wife makes me.

I can't say that I care for the whole professional wrestling thing, but the Rock is awesome.

They're going to have to bring the acting up to World Wrestling standards if they ever hope to make this a popular sport in the US.
