What's interesting is the voice actor actually sounds like that. I saw him in a promo interview video for the game and was quite surprised. Somehow, that makes it more tolerable to me.

Steve merchants voice is one of the most damaging things to the game and the exsperance. I guess if your american you will perceive his voice differently but at a minimum they could have put a bit of distortion on it so it didn't sound like a voice actor in your ear for half the game allso they should have made is speaking far less formulaic ( granted how he talks in this is all he is capable of as an actor)

As for Steve merchants lines in terms of writing to me it felt like I had some kids nurator from some cheep kids cg film following me around , when you have a character like that you really need the writing to be done by monty python , duglus adems or maybe terry Pratchett.

The glados character however is good and most of her lines are decent and fit the game well.

As for this whole adopted news story its just retarded the news anchers and tv produces should just be em brassed by how pore there reporting is.

Great show, I loved this one, too. I think it's the voices they use in dubs that account for at least half the cheesiness, though. You could have a show with semi-serious content, but the american company that casts the voice talent will pull every cartoon voice actor that can do a "funny" voice to do it. It can be a whole different experience watching something in the original Japanese with subtitles, and then watching the same film dubbed into English.

ok, so I saw Elijah Woods, so he might be a good voice acto-

PAUL REUBENS!?! Pee Wee Herman is also going to be a voice actor in Tron?!

It's like they took the audio and instead of pitch shifting it, they just slowed it down to lower the tone of the voice. It ruins the voice actor's timing. Or maybe I'm being too generous, maybe it's just bad.

Fun fact: Phil Hartman was supposed to be the voice actor for Zapp Brannigan of Futurama fame, but he died before they started recording, so Billy West took over with basically a Phil Hartman/William Shatner impression.
