Missionaries Spread The Love
My scripture is a bit rusty, but wasn't satan the one who wanted to force everyone to adhere to gods laws and god wanted everyone to have free will and choose for themselves, thus satan was cast out to the lobby of a hotel in Uganda.
Edit: I hope he's sent home and de-funded by the church and benefactors who pay for his missionary work - In fact, I hope he's forced to pay back all the money he's received thus far.
Should gay people be allowed to marry?
No-one gives a shit what your neolithic deity thinks. The same boring arguments were trotted out when interracial couples wanted to get married.
Here's the thing, most people are already in favour of gay marriage. It's just past the point where more than 50% of the US population lives in a state with legal SSM. Most of the developed world has either legalised gay marriage, allows civil unions or recognises marriages performed in other countries. You have more in common with Uganda than Utah.
Enjoy being on the wrong side of history (again).
Imaginary sky father doesn't like men sucking cocks.
Imaginary sky father is the one who made marriage.

So Britney Spears and the Kardashians can't marry in Uganda as well?
It good to see that some countries still recognize improper relationships.

The REAL Reason You're Circumcised
I've heard reports from several men who had sex before and after and said there was zero difference in sensation.
I circumcised my boys but not at all because of aesthetics, nor to "look like me", and especially not for any kind of religious reason.
We weren't dead-set against leaving them un-cut. In fact, we initially figured we'd just let them be natural.
One reason we decided to go ahead with it is we heard about lots of uncircumcised men have issues that require them to have it done later in life (e.g., phimosis, etc.), but the bigger reason was recent (at that time) studies showed strong evidence that circumcised men are at substantially lower risk for serious life-threatening diseases such as HIV and penile cancer (that results from HPV).
>> Yep, it's fucking barbaric. It is genital mutilation of children, period.
Talk about misinformation from a bunch of barbarians.
It's more barbaric to be completely close-minded, backward-thinking, and ignorant as to why there might possibly exist valid reasons to provide your children an almost 100% chance to avoid a plethora of penis-related problems and life-threatening diseases for their entire life in exchange for what's really a very minor procedure when done soon after birth.
The reasons against it? "It's fucking barbaric." Because... why again? "It just is," I'm sure is the best possible response.
The reasons in favor of it? Don't be so glib. Read the research.
Science Daily from Jan 2010:
American Cancer Society:
Facts like these are "the REAL reasons" my sons are circumcised.
Were you circumcised later in life so you are able to compare sex before and after? If not, then no, you can't say that.
David Letterman on Fracking
You may not like it, but it's not a strawman argument. If we were fracking in Uganda and shipping the gas here, no one would be complaining. Any serious environmentalist would rather we burn natural gas than coal or oil.
I'm not in a position to argue about why Americans use so much oil. But the fact is that they do, and if natural gas displaces that, then you calculate the net benefit. The only way oil comes out on top is Nimbyism and a disregard for the people we kill overseas.
That is rather a strawman argument there man. We do get to complain about the source of our energy if that source is poisonous and deadly. The dependency on oil has been orchestrated because the US economy is backed by oil dollars. No matter how bad it got and all of the deaths and wars it has caused, it does not justify fracking.

David Mitchell on Atheism
You're kidding, right?
We've had Arizona almost pass a law that legalises discrimination, and Uganda actually pass a law that where homosexuality is punishable by death.
Meanwhile 60% of Americans don't accept the reality of evolution.
I wonder where you get the idea that people DON'T listen to really religious people.
And I have watched Chomsky, and I agree that he's a good debater. That said, I've never seen Dawkins be anything other than polite even when dealing with unbelievable idiocy.
I would wonder where in the hell you get the idea that anyone cares what really religious people think. Also why the hell you would think that an "atheist evangelist" would help in anyway shape or form. It just plays right into peoples hands "See he's a psychopath, look at how much of a dismissive dick he is towards differing opinions."
Address criticism and answer to it, I used the example of Chomsky, maybe you should watch something where someone is confronting him in a vigorous manner. He handles himself correctly in my view, my opinion is that Dawkins does not. That he sounds like a dick and he turns people off and it turns out others in the field of science feel the same way. He is not the white knight we're looking for, we want him to grab some pine and shut the fuck up.
Again I don't know where you get the idea where anyone listens to religious people. They're useful to drum up and get votes for but everyone including republicans know they're crazy and do their best to control them rather than do their stupid bidding.

Um, have you been reading the news lately? Arizona wants businesses to have the ability to discriminate. Uganda wants to imprison gay and gay friendly people for decades. In Russia gay people are kidnapped, tortured, beat in the streets.
He's still brave, my friend, when this is the environment he in which he lives.
I think he was silly to be concerned about this sister -- she gave him an opportunity to come out years before, and he didn't take it. And. He was scared and he finally did it. That is brave.
How is he brave? I think his sis said it best that she doesnt care that he's gay. News flash gay people: Nobody cares if you are gay are not (unless your the media and they love sensationalizing it). The only thing that matters is if you are a good person or bad person.
