I read there was a malfunction in the guard arms and they didn't come down. Due to the weather the truck driver looked right but didn't see the train because of fog and rain. A truck that size isn't very quick and you get what we see here. Good to know everyone is ok.

Scary stuff, if the trucks can't stop in time to avoid a highly visible explosion and fire, they clearly couldn't stop in time if traffic stopped. This video should be a part of truck driver training.

Yeah, i dont trust a single fuck with a badge or a gun or both and a uniform. That wasnt always so. At one time i was a pretty lame introverted nerd with the world as my oyster. Listening to Rage Against the Machine made me concerned, because it was too extreme. And then the iron fist of law enforcement thought theyd fuck with me and make me suffer for what was not my burden. And then it just gets worse and worse, a downward spiral of constant legal battles, jail time, mental illness, etc. etc. etc. Its all the same to me, govt, law enforcement, human resource representatives, executives, redcoats. Oppression creates terrorism. Always.

During the Philippine-American war, the events which lead up to our own soldiers commiting acts of genocide started with our disregard of the indigenous people, oppression, and penchant for disrespecting local men and harassing their women; as well, our ignorant and well documented philosophies of Anglo-Saxon exceptionalism. The family of the abused rise up and attack their oppressors. Terrorism will always be so as long as the mighty refuse to respect all ways of life and seek instead to instill their systems of government and create puppet governments whoch fail, destablizing entire regions.

Because now the game is bigger. You dont simply destablize a region: when you oppress people, you destabilize an entire zeitgeist, affecting far more people than ever before. People in America rise up to join forces that provide promises of liberty that America no longer offers. Even if those terror groups themselves lie, the broken people see it as a hope. The oppressed will crawl out of the woodwork and kill. There is no precise pattern when frank castles of the world do their deeds. Its just like the 4000 deaths per year from semitrucks, the trucking industry says 70% (debatable, likely a lower number) of accidents are caused by noncommercial vehicles. Impatient people weaving in and out of traffic and cutting off truck drivers oppresses them and sometimes even they to rise up and do terror.

So simple answer: Love, peace, and good will are what the government should promote. Of course, that would simply open them to being taken advantage of... so, we are fucked, always and forever. But maybe even if we cant promote true peace, perhaps we can at least avoid creating the terrorists we fear.

The truck driver seemed pretty calm, and I'm pretty sure you can hear her freaking out, so I think she's OK (physically at least)..

Sounded like the woman just came around the bend and ran over the tree herself and met the this truck driver then the real scary stuff showed up.

I assume she got hit but I do not know.

I was completely screwed over by a tow truck driver in California. Car was on its side but still in working order, but instead of turning it back onto its wheels, they dropped it on the hood, dragged it to its death along the pavement and onto the back of the truck, then claimed it was totaled.

They won't have jobs because the automization of this country will leave them jobless. When Google makes truck drivers, taxi drivers, uber drivers obsolete, that's a few million jobs dead and gone forever. When every grocery store, fast food place, gas station and so forth are automated 100%, that's millions more. The ripple effect of 10 million + jobs gone in a few decades will cost millions more, the type that is higher paying.

So in other words @bobnight33 the economy is crashing under the free market 100%, so what is your solution?

The thing that really pisses me off about these places is that they exist in a legal grey zone. In Ontario, you have to be a licensed auto mechanic (OCoT scope of practice) to fix cars. But because they only change fluids, the franchise owners were able to worm their way into only hiring flunkies off of the street with minimal training. They haven't done an apprenticeship, and don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. They shouldn't be "recommending" anything. It's like asking a truck driver for heart surgery advice.

He should have tried Rambo's move of lifting each finger one at a time and putting them back down again. That seems to work for him in the secret world of underground truck-driver arm wrestling rings.

I take exception with the description. It CLAIMS there are 'warning lights', but I don't see any at all. it CLAIMS there are warning signs, but all I see is the single small 'caution' sign with terrible placement so it blends in with the speed limit sign and the junction boxes on the telephone pole. The only noticeable sign does not indicate any low clearance, it warns of grooved pavement ahead. It would be simple for them to put up the type of system where small weighted red balls hang from above WELL BEFORE THE BRIDGE that will hit any oversized truck AND trigger flashing warning lights on the bridge itself. Instead, they put up easily missed 'warning' signs, and a camera to catch the action they know is coming. I've been seeing footage of this bridge for years, there's absolutely no excuse for them not fixing the problem, yet they have not fixed it. If I were a truck driver caught out by this bridge, I would definitely sue the city for knowingly not fixing a known issue, and knowingly not even putting up visible warnings.

Despite that he can understand it without condoning it, he shouldn't refuse or be incapable of actually stating that he doesn't condone it.

Sure he's articulate, though I don't know why he should be praised for that (it seems kind of insulting to me; he shouldn't be expected to be articulate because he's a black man taking up a black cause?), but he's also being a politician, dancing around on the fence.

Regardless, I would have no problem admitting I would condone rioters causing property damage as long as 1) it's the only way their voice will actually be heard and cause change, and, more importantly, 2) NO INNOCENT PEOPLE SUFFER as a result of their rioting.

If they physically injure people or put small business owner's out of business or cause uninsured motorists to lose their transportation to work or pull truck drivers out of big rigs to smash their heads with bricks, then fuck them.

I think the differences in the way we see things are, I see the grey areas, and you see in black and white. Once someone is guilty in your eyes you come down 100% on them.
Me seeing the shades isn't always better, as I give everyone the benefit of doubt, sometimes when they don't deserve it, but I give it to them till I'm proven wrong.
That's maybe why you're better suited for your career, and I'm not.
Being able to make a solid judgement call and sticking with it is a solid attribute.

I only suggest that you see the possibility that sometimes honest people make poor judgement calls.
Where you see someone purposely ramming a truck, I see someone who made a poor decision in switching lanes and then proceeds to think she's good to go, and maybe is concentrating to much on the truck ahead and not seeing the truck beside her.
Poor driving, absolutely, but I can't believe her judgement said purposely hit the truck.

On the flip side. The truck driver is driving well within his limits, and maybe is tired of people cutting him off. So this time he doesn't let her in, not expecting that she may not notice him closing her out.

He could have avoided the collision, or at least tried, as he saw it coming and made no effort. She didn't. I don't dispute her bad driving decision or skill in this matter. On the flip side, his driving choices are not any better.

Actually, my mind is very easy to change. From being homophobic, to hating certain skin colors, I realize how stupid I was growing up as a person and how I had to unteach myself a lot of things.

As for my post; judgment is one thing. I do judge the car driver (And I judge the truck driver, although much less...) When that car intentionally rammed the truck it put not only their own lives in danger but other lives as well. That sort of accident can cause major destruction when 10 more are added to the equation.

I am glad neither the car's driver nor the truck driver were truly hurt. I am glad that people in our country only need to pay higher premiums in situations like this. That is a good thing and justice isn't wanting them dead...

If you are talking about my hatred for major corporations, then not sure where I shouldn't judge. Major for-profit healthcare providers, evil, evil. Same with car/personal injury-healthcare providers.
