If your arrested for saying "I think the end of the world is coming and policemen should be killed" thats thought crime.
No, if you're arrested for saying "I think the end of the world is coming and policemen should be killed" that's threatening to kill police. Though usually you would not be charged unless it could be shown it was a serious threat.
If you're arrested for the suspicion that you might harbor secret, unspoken, murderous intent for police officers, that would be thoughtcrime.

Uhh, arrested for a thought crime?
You're surprised that conspiring to commit mass murder, sedition and acts of terrorism is illegal?
Believe me, that is not at all what thoughtcrime refers to.

The FBI does not just arrest anyone for nothing. If court finds that the FBI has enough evidence to arrest then they issue arrest warrants, and search warrants.
I bet the arrested are thankful that they are innocent until proven guilty.

If your arrested for saying the above and planning the crime, and preparing for it, and making your intent clear that you are going to take such action, then no. Not thought crime.

I can't see that this will be helpful. In fact, I think this will only strengthen the Australian government's resolve to keep escalating their censorship regime. What government is going to cave in to a bunch of internet misfits? They can't afford to be seen as unable to respond to a direct attack on themselves, so either they'll simply play the importance of the attacks down or they'll pursue some sort of legal action against the perpetrators while using the attacks to paint the opponents of censorship as juvenile troublemakers.
Interesting thought, but I begin to wonder if at this point there is anything that can stop these mind thought crime type laws from being instituted into Westernized governments. What strategies will work that haven't failed elsewhere? (Patriot Act, etc.)
'Accidental' Download Sending Guy To Prison
Thought crime.
"At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"
Thought crimes are illegal in the U.S. especially when the majority disapproves of them. Being a communist sympathizer could net you some jail time back then and blacklist you from certain industries.

Cop beats man with a mental disorder
From what I can find out,
They arrested him for Resisting Arrest and "Wandering with the intent to buy drugs".
Since the police aren't talking, we will have to wait on the "intent" charges. The Resisting arrest charges appear to be the same old bullshit charges that cops file after they assault somebody.
Can we all agree that the police always charge somebody they have assaulted, with Resisting arrest, its an automatic charge, probably an order from the lawyers from the police departments?
The other charge is to cover their butts on why they needed to beat him to begin with. Can't have a Reisting arrest charge without a Reason for arrest in the first place. Its pretty amazing that his original crime is a "thought crime".
Also please note: when the other cops show up, they just seperate the bully cop and the victim, Fight over! No more need to beat the "resisting guy who is thinking of buying drugs".
I bet the asshole cop was trying to impress his female parner, even though it looks like she wanted to intervene, but didn't.
Pope reinstates Holocaust-denying bishop
Isn't it crazy that holocaust-denial is a thought crime? It's actually illegal in some countries to *question* the historical record?
Obama calls for civilian paramilitary force
They'll be used against the populace, to take their guns, and enforce laws against thought-crimes.
McCain still claiming USA founded on Judeo-Christian values
Funnily enough "judeo-christian" can't even bloody well agree on which day to worship on.
Go Jewish, the sabbath is a Saturday but Christ wasn't the son of God, go Seventh Day Adventist, Christ is the son of God and worship on a Saturday. Roman Catholic or any of the derivative religions (protestant, Lutheran etc) and you get Christ + Sunday.
The fact that there are hundreds of "judeo-christian" religions which are all subtlely (or dramatically) different, considering they all derive from essentially the same source, old Testament Jewish, should be more than enough evidence to show that they should not have any hold over the governance of a people. They are inherently biased to their own distorted point of view and the corrupt any law they come in to contact with their viewpoint at the expense of all others because they believe they are acting appropriately.
We need less church in the state (and the associated emphasis on thought crimes, protecting people from themselves etc), not more.
Teen Fell From Bridge: Cops Tasered him 19 times

Wireless neckband allows first voiceless phone call
"It translates brain synapses and neural skull vibrations into audible speech frequencies."
"Yeah I got one of them too. It's called a mouth. Whats your point?"
That last bit is the part that scares me. My head is the only place I can go where nobody can hear me. If this is perfected then thought crimes may become a very real thing.
