... karma.

fooker!
can you believe that?
man..i suuuuuuuck.
but for real.i do have three sisters, and i tend to be very protective of all women in my care.
that does not mean a woman can do as she wishes, for instance:
if a woman strikes a man she is taking the place of a man and the rules dont apply.
not knowing all the variables in this vid,and judging just by what i saw.
the mans response was not justified and could have caused irreparable damage to the young lady.
i had a very visceral response to this video, all i could think of was my sisters,my neighbors,my female students.
i dont respect men who put their hands on women, and have be known to confront those who do.
maybe its the way i was raised....i dunno..genetic?
eh../shrugs..just think its wrong.

Wife Catches Husband w Another Woman in India, Shit hits Fan

Sagemind says...

That was actually pretty good.
I wish in the west that when a woman catches her man with another woman, the whole family would get together and walk in on them and slap them around a little. cause you know he'd deserve it and he could take it. What a great insult, being hit by all the women you know with shoes

If I caught my wife like that, I wouldn't want to slap at her, I'd just walk out and not come back, no words said, period. Silence is a bigger slap in the face.
(by the way..., my wife would never do that and no, she didn't make me write this )

Hardball: Joe Solmonese vs. Pat Buchanan on Gay Marriage

charliem says...

Government should stay the fuck out of it.

Neither create a law for or against any way or the other, marriage is an issue between a couple and their church. If their church wants to marry them, then the govt. has no say in it.

They have to recognize it is a legal relationship, regardless if its a man / woman, or man/man, or woman/woman.

Also, it isn't an aberration of nature, homosexuality is rife in the natural world.
Lions, tigers, all of the ape/chimp/monkey species, mice..etc.

Hilarious response to 'gay marriage isn't natural' argument.

vairetube says...

-----

ok so i just watched your video...

and gay marriage just got legalized in Vermont
(and thats where i live)
so i thought i'd post a response...

because gay marriage is legal...
and im gay...
and im going to marry a gay.

...and you say in your video that gay marriage isnt natural,
but i dont think you know anything about whats natural,
because you live inside a house ,
and i saw pictures of you inside your room,
but i live outside in nature in the outdoors,
and you dont know what it is - anything -
to be about natural,
because you eat food from the - shtore,
and i eat food that i kill with a rock.

im a vegetarian and i eat plants,
but i kill all the food i eat with a rock.
i kill plants with a rock,
and i make a computer that's made out of wood
and i work on the computer thats made out of wood

your computer's made out of technology
so you shouldnt say anything about what it is to be natural and not to be natural,
because you dont know'n anything about what it is to be natural,
but i live in vermont and i use a computer that's made out of wood and rocks

i eat computers that are made out of wood and rocks,
and i use plants that are made out of computers,
and you dont know anything about what it is to be natural,
and you should get married to a gay,
cause im gonna get married to a gay,
and if you got garried to may to the,
you would learn anything about what it is to be natural.

so if you wanna learn anything about what it is to be natural,
you should go to the store,
you should buy wood that is made out of rocks,
and you should kill the computers with trees,
and then you would know anything about what it is to be natural,
and i dont know anything about what it is to be natural,
because im not gay and i got married to a gay.

if you get married to a gay
then you wont be gay anymore
because the gays get married
and then they become straight
because they are married to each other
and marraige isn't between a man and a woman
so one of them is going to turn into a woman or a man
if their either woman or man, not either -eending already -
and they're gonna get married to a gay.

so if you dont get married to a gay
then you wont know'n anything about what it is to be natural
and im gonna get married to the gay natural
im gonna be made out of wood
into the gatrolininay
are you gonna get married to the gay to the natural

Jon Stewart Grills Huckabee On Gay Marriage

quantumushroom says...

I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that one must believe that both sexes are exactly the same.

The moral relativists reached this erroneous conclusion, not I.

To believe men and women are interchangeable in relationships, that is, two men or two women are = to one man/one woman, requires serious denial of biology and sociology.

A gay woman is still a woman and thinks like a woman, not a man. The differences in the brain of a gay man are not so drastic that he is considered a woman with a male body and vice versa.

No one is questioning the reality love or commitment between gay people, myself included. I just think putting it on the same pedestal as "the norm" is bad for society.

In a similar vein, the rising acceptance of bastardhood isn't good either. The argument against the value of marriage between STRAIGHT people has been under assault: Men and women are still having children without 'the piece of paper.' What's the difference?

It turns out the difference is 'plenty'. What incentive does an unmarried couple have to stay together? How is government taxation and welfare destroying (or feebly attempting to keep together) the institution of marriage? Why are sperm donor-non-fathers and breeder-non-mothers not shunned by society anymore as being irresponsible? Is there a war against fatherhood, all the way to some kooks declaring the role of the father as unnecessary?

The claim that there would be "no adverse effects" from legalizing gay marriage is as intellectually dishonest as stating that gay couples are interchangeable with straights.

The argument for gay 'marriage' really fell apart when civil unions, which held the exact same rights as legal marriage, were eschewed in favor of forcing society to accept an inferior relationship as equal to the norm, at metaphorical gunpoint.

Canada, never a bastion of freedom to begin with, has moved from "gay acceptance" to putting people in jail for speaking out against homosexuality as immoral or otherwise wrong. That's where America is headed with this nonsense. And it IS nonsense.

Governator: We will maybe undo Prop 8

laws are supposed to based on unalienable human rights. that is the ONLY legitimate basis for a system of law.

The word republic comes form the word res publica which means a public matter, in political science a republic refers always to a state where power is given via consent by the people governed. Nowhere does it say that a republic comes with laws that come from unalienable human rights. This is simply a system of government over a populace.

If the people governed choose to have slavery, no womens rights and abolition of gay rights this is what the republic would have as laws. Changes with regards to these come from social change as a whole, as people realize that oppression by color by sex and by sexual preference is not right or inhumane and so on.

The modern world is not wrong, it is simply the result of recursive adjustments to how society changes its views over the course of history. In the 20th Century we gained womans right to vote, civil liberties and this all culminated in an election where a woman and black man ran for President. Obama became president. That's in a span of less then 50 years since the civil rights movement.

You are basically saying that we should have imposed laws. I agree that the Bill of Rights is a great Law to impose unequivocally. But this never happens in separation, it always leaves room for new laws that simply tools of oppression. That's why checks and balances exit.

That's why the US is constitutional republic, "in which majority rule is tempered by minority rights protected by law."

Woman at a comedy show in Australia with no sense of humor

JiggaJonson says...

Im not one who enjoys racist jokes but the ones that this man was telling were funny ONLY because he was making fun of racism not using racism as a premise for his jokes.

I always get mad at Wanda Sikes and the like because they use racism to create their material, to continue to use her as an example liek 50% of the shit that comes out of her mouth is about how black women have big asses and if SHE says it it's ok because hey, it's like she's making fun of herself, isnt there a Seinfeld about this where Tim Watley becomes a jew for the jokes?

anyway, this guy didnt seem to have it comming, Michael Richards on the other hand, did, we all tend to think that the world revolves around us, im sorry this woman misconstrued this man's act as a slight toward her BUT if he really did intend something (as i am half inclined to suspect by the venomous reply) then shame on him, as it stands, i cant tell

Pornography Myths (Femme Talk Post)

rougy says...

1. Porn cultivates good relationships. --- Porn has little or nothing to do with relationships. A relationship that is centered around, or influenced by, porn isn't much of a relationship to begin with. I've watched porn with girlfriends, but it was kind of distracting and unfulfilling. I really don't think porn has a lot to do with relationships any more than dreaming does.

2. Porn is for men who sincerely appreciate the beauty of the female body. --- It's less an appreciation for women's bodies than it is a need to see those bodies in order to gratify themselves and release some tension.

3. Porn is harmless and it has no negative effect on the person using it. --- It can be addicting, but certain people seem to need it more than others, kind of like booze.

4. Strippers and porn stars lead glamorous lives, and men respect them. --- As compared to what? A bank teller or a waitress? Some lead glamorous lives, most don't. Respect? That depends, too, on the woman and the man. Just as there are some real creeps in that crowd, there are some real bitches, too.

5. Men like variety in women so porn use helps a man stay faithful to his woman. --- Porn has little or nothing to do with relationships. Porn is a device used by some people to amuse themselves or satisfy themselves or relieve themselves with an orgasm, arguably one of the most pleasant experiences known to humanity. The impact that porn has on a person's fealty to his or her lover is usually nil.

6. Women who get involved in the porn industry choose to do so, and they have valuable careers. --- Most, obviously, choose to do so, as do the men. Rarely does a woman make a porno with someone holding a gun to her head. Some do have successful careers, like Christie Canyon or Nina Hartley. The same is true for the men, like Peter North. It comes with a price, of course, but the stigma of being in a porno has lessened greatly over the years.

7. Porn is an outlet or safety valve for men who would otherwise do Bad Things. --- Probably false on the whole. Again, the relationship between porn and human interactivity is almost nonexistant. Rapists don't need porn, they need rape. Pederasts don't need porn, they need little boys. People who need porn usually have some kind of hightened or unique sexual urge that is not being satisfied and porn is the only course to achieving that satisfaction.

8. Women who work in porn are empowered and sexually liberated. --- As opposed to women who don't work in porn who are empowered and sexually liberated? Porn is a job. Few jobs are empowering or sexually liberating.

9. Porn is just a fantasy and people do not apply it to real life. --- Overall, that's true. People who like and use porn are usually more imaginative than those who don't. The kind of people who have to apply things to "real life" are usually not users of porn. I would say that most people who use porn get to a point where they have to fetishize some aspect of it to keep from being bored. It's an outlet, a distraction, and ultimately very private in nature.

>> ^smibbo:
why are you guys saying the man in this vid isn't "hot"?

He isn't acting hot, he's acting like a goof-ball, and for the reasons you pointed out, he is not really being sexualized.

I see:

woman -> sexy -> object
man -> goof ball -> subject

these are okay things to say in our culture, but what about

man -> sexy -> object?

Would we find humor in such a commentary, especially in juxtaposition to the original?

As for ripped, that's just my personal pref, and was only intended as an example that straight boys could understand.

Look, I never stated that ugly or non-beautiful people do not get any of these same negative treatments, or harrassments... nor did I associate however it is you think I perceive myself with the incidents I reported. I merely offered up my experiences with the matter as a confirmation that the things referred to (mostly the more serious issues mentioned by oxdottir and persephone in their blogs, the harrassment, objectification, etc) are, in fact, not fun.

I also do not think, even for a moment, that men do shitty disgusting things based solely on something I do or the way I look, nor have I ever condoned it, or rationalized their behavior as such... if you would actually read my comment below you would see that. I'm sorry your own outlook on things has prevented you from looking at this any other way, or that you think I'm trying to undermine your experiences with my own, but that was not my intent.

All I meant with that post was for people to stop assuming that the girl in the video was crying for absolutely no good reason, because, I think at least, that she was crying because she perhaps had had similar exposure to sexual harrasment, and I wanted to offer this up as a possibility (because really, having only seen that short clip, none of us can know what she was really crying about). And I would think that anyone who has dealt with sexual harrassment or objectification (pretty or not, or whatever) would agree not to jump to conclusions about her tears because the damage done is very real, very hard to discuss, and very worth crying about.

In reply to this comment by smibbo:
the sexual harrassment you describe happens to ugly women too. it is very insensitive to make the association between your good looks and degrading treatment by men; its NOT a "looks" thing, its a FEMALE thing. I guess i'll keep saying it and you and the other pretty women will keep devalueing my point. I guess its hard for yall to believe ugly women gt harrassed too? They do. Because degrading and devalueing a woman is something "man" does for power and intimidation, not because you're so damned hot he can't help himself. They do it because they are cowardly jackasses, not because you look so great, no matter what they tell you. You give them a kind of "excuse" when you believe they do it for your looks. Stop believing that please, stop giving them that kind of "out" and please stop devaluing other women's experiences by constantly saying that because you're beautiful you get assholes bothering you; all us women get those assholes.

In reply to this comment by raven:
I agree with Kate that it is wrong to assume that the girl in the video is crying over nothing, or she is doing so just because she is beautiful... granted, that bit was lumped together with the other pretty minor complaints by everyone else, but I would think that the mere fact that she is crying is probably indicative that whatever it was she experienced was indeed pretty terrible... because as she said, some comments just do not make you feel pretty, they make you feel objectified, and even dirty.

I'm not talking about the basic, "You're very pretty" kind of compliment, but the kind that borders on, or is, sexual harrassment... you can't know unless its happened to you how terribly frightening and disgusting it is to be trapped in a elevator with a man who can't help but stare lecherously at you, and then ventures to say (true story), "I'd like to fuck you if you let me" Out of the blue, just like that, its terrifying, does not make one feel pretty but rather dirty somehow, and yes, it does bring out tears. Or there are even sometimes worse incidents involving coworkers or fellow students, where the objectification is continuous and after a while it becomes more than tiresome but rather stressful to have them all keep track of what you wear everyday, whether or not it shows off anything, or have them (rather publicly) get a pool going to see which of them will get to fuck you first (not kidding, guys, who are seemingly otherwise professional sorts, do actually do this kind of shit), which makes you begin to hate yourself and not want to go into school or work everyday. I'm not suggesting that this does not happen to those who aren't considered "beautiful" (whatever that cultural construct might currently be), but its damaging, and I can completely relate to where that girl is probably coming from.
