Vote While It Counts

newtboy says...

Comment downvote for blatant lies

1) it specifically does not outlaw them, it explicitly allows them….it regulates and enforces them, so yes, in states with ID laws, it has mandatory ID to vote (but expands what ID is allowed beyond a drivers license.). Fail

2) It does not allow unattended drop boxes. where? Quote it. It requires more drop boxes than one for 3.5 million people, it does not (that I can find anywhere) allow unattended drop boxes any more than current laws which require them to be under surveillance and attended. It does not allow “vote gathering” liar, prove me wrong with quotes from the bill (you can’t)….side note, in California, the Republican Party itself set up multiple unauthorized drop boxes, unattended and without surveillance cameras even after being charged for breaking state laws, gathered those votes (discarding any that they didn’t want to submit, like any from people named Enrique and DeShawn, and possibly filling out any left unsealed…..Republicans are also the ones caught with campaigns directly harvesting ballots from nursing homes and admitting they filled out any race not filled out, voting for the Republican candidates even on Democrat’s ballots, so you know, those are Republican MOs, not Democratic, you can’t point to one actual example of Democrats doing that, maybe you can find some false OAN reports claiming that, but absolutely no evidence. Double Fail

3) dumb ass, it requires investigation by the state “ Additionally, the bill sets forth provisions related to election security, including by requiring states to conduct post-election audits for federal elections”. It also requires states to purchase voting machines with a paper receipt and record, so no more attempts like cyber ninjas to reprogram the machines to give the results they want with no physical record to prove their fraud. Super fail

4) where does it limit a states ability to challenge and audit itself? Quotes from the bill or admit you’re lying. It limits the states ability to gerrymander, to deny polling places for targeted populations, and to create biased and blatantly racist policies designed to obstruct certain populations from voting. It limits states ability to limit early voting. It actually REQUIRES states to audit every federal election you delusional fucking moron. Double dipsolitious fail

5) the scariest part for you (that you didn’t mention intentionally) is making Election Day a national holiday, because if poor working people get a paid day off to vote, guaranteed more will vote, and that’s disastrous for the right that freely admits it can only win elections if they get to choose the voters, the method of voting, and the outcome (I’m looking at Trump), and will never win any election ever again if all legal voters vote.

Such a sad, deluded little liar you’ve become, bob. You must really dislike yourself to do that to yourself. You’re worth an honest argument and position, bob. You let Trump twist you into this dishonest, “say anything”, hyper partisan angry little man…..you deserve better, and we all deserve better from you.

Always against the side of freedom, inclusion, equal opportunity, truth, honesty, fairness, civil rights, and civility.

Time to review user ratings? (Internet Talk Post)

newtboy says...

I’ve been thinking about how to rate users and had a few ideas….
First I thought it might help to incorporate comment votes, but that doesn’t really take into account the lowered traffic in the last few years and still leaves inactive members as the top.
Second I thought maybe only count votes from the last year (or two)….but that discounts the efforts of those who are still active but less so than before.

Third, and this one made sense to me, maybe rank by “golden one” and/or “silver tongue” badge level. That ignores traffic rates and rates by percentage of current votes but doesn’t ignore older poster’s contributions, it rates/ranks them. Then, people who submitted many popular videos aren’t outranked by people who submitted fewer and less popular videos but at a time when there was just more site traffic.
Just my thoughts…

These are some totally valid points.

I reckon I'd totally be up for making some changes, especially as it relates to quality of life for those of us who still come around.

@newtboy What top users list did you have in mind?

@ant Did you have any specific updates for VS in mind? Large-scale changes probably wouldn't be doable any time soon, but we could get away with doing some smaller changes.

If anyone has any thoughts, do share!

Big surprise…the Trump campaign was directly behind the plot to create fake slates of electors committed to Trump from multiple states that Biden won, helped prepare and submit fraudulent certification documents, and they hoped to have them counted by Pence instead of the real electors certified by the states for Biden…Giuliani even wrote Pence a letter telling him to do just that. The campaign, led personally by Giuliani, organized this fraud, this subversion of democracy.
More direct Trump election fraud. You really think he’s interested in election security when he’s the one caught red handed committing election fraud on every front? Lol.

Edit: Trump’s communications on and about Jan 6 are now released, soon to be public record. No more delays possible, he took it all the way to the Supreme Court and failed all the way at trying to hide what he did. Better start stretching, you’re going to have some Olympic level mental gymnastics to do soon.

And now Republicans in at least 5 states have been caught having submitted matching forged election documents, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona (twice), Wisconsin, and Michigan. These forgeries, complete with forged seals from their respective states, attempted to “certify” fraudulent electors from those states that intended to cast their electoral votes for Trump despite their states voting for Biden, that vote being certified, and the real electors being certified.
Pennsylvania too, but they didn’t try to claim they were the electors, they claimed they would be the electors if a court invalidated the election results….created at the direct personal request of the DJTrump campaign.

Jeff Clark, of the DOJ, drafted a letter telling states to hold off on certification because the DOJ was investigating election irregularities…..but they weren’t and the DOJ head, the AG, refused to sign off, so Trump accepted his resignation, the resignation of the assistant AG, and tried to install Clark so they could send this fraudulent letter about a non existent investigation of non existent election fraud. In that letter he referenced the “second set of electors” two weeks after these forgeries were submitted to congress and elsewhere but long before that was public knowledge.

Another few attempts by Republicans to subvert democracy.

Apparently Trump also flew the idea of having the national guard confiscate all voting machines and rerunning the election (until he won).

Why the entire party isn’t banned from holding office is beyond me, your representatives all undeniably violated (and continue to violate) section 3 of the 14th amendment, and you’ll never get 2/3 of congress to let that slide.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

For the few that weren’t directly involved in the failed coup, the “aid and comfort” clause covers their behavior since.

Dreams do come true, give flight!

Reminds me of an episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy and her girlfriends were trying to play an upbeat song but it instead sounded like a funeral dirge.

But this is better because it's non-fiction.

Are you aware that most Republicans in DC are now legally barred from running for office under the constitution?

14th amendment clause 3- No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Now you understand why all Republicans voted against investigating The Jan 6 insurrection, the rebellion against the election. Sadly for them, that act is giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the state, so now they don’t even have to be implicated directly, their vote to not investigate invalidates them as candidates. Expect this to come up against Green next year.

Uh oh….the FEC, the election regulatory agency that Trump intentionally under staffed to the point that it couldn’t start an investigation much less conduct one has now been ordered to investigate the Trump campaign and the NRA that used shell companies to give Trump $25 million in 2016, a massive campaign donation limit violation, and used those shell companies to coordinate with the Trump campaign (and many other Republicans). Apparently this case was submitted to them years ago, but they didn’t have the legally required number of appointees to operate, and the few they had were Trump appointees not interested in investigating any charges against Republicans with a backlog of over 450 cases…so the FEC did nothing. Now they have been ordered by a judge to start the investigation in 30 days. Not going to go well for your people, they all played fast and loose under Trump, and there’s a new sheriff in town now.

Derp….this is the Republican led Arizona state senate, not DC. It’s not a choice, he was subpoenaed. It’s a jailable offense to ignore a subpoena. He should have shown up and plead the fifth, like most criminals do….or plead ignorance of literally everything he’s asked like Trump, who couldn’t answer a single question about his businesses or business dealings.

Odd, when it’s a Democrat, like say Clinton, you say they have a total obligation to testify under oath before a pure partisan Republican committee without being subpoenaed and any hint they won’t is a total admission of guilt….but if it’s a Republican they should ignore subpoenas and never testify under any circumstance, even subpoenas from other Republicans, even from the senate that hired them, and never ever submit to any examination of their methods or blatant biases, mistakes, grift, and failures doing the job the state hired them to do….and threaten anyone who considers testifying, and their families.

Why? The real audits already verified everything for non conspiracy nut jobs. Why spend $12 million a pop to replicate a horrendous, unprofessional, unofficial, idiot filled, false leak generator except to continue the big lie in moron’s heads and steal more of their money?

Prove it. It’s the figures the state senate produced, $6 million paid to cyber ninjas($1 million by the state, $5 million by groups trying to invalidate a valid election for political purposes). $3 million in invalidated voting machines, another $3 million in other related machinery and computers they invalidated. There are certainly other costs not included, so yes, it is misleading, the true full cost is higher.

Typical knee jerk reactionary refusal to accept facts you don’t like without even the slightest interest as to their veracity…..or so you understand, typical of you to cry fake news because truth and fact makes Bobby cry hurt.
