I was born between the release of the original Gershon Kingsley version and the release of the the Hot Butter version http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popcorn_%28instrumental%29, so I think there's a very good chance I heard one of them as a child.
I can say though that I only thought of posting that video because of this one - http://videosift.com/video/Stop-Motion-Animation-Using-500-Ping-Pong-Balls - an excellent stop motion video made at film school, by Victoria Foroponova.

I'm trying to figure out right now, where and when I first heard that tune. It seems impossible!!

A stop motion video within a stop motion video
Beautiful. Not anything within anything though. There is only one layer (or level) of animation going on here. The within thing doesn't make any sense. How close to the camera the people hold the cards is the only difference from any other stop-motion animation. The fact that you see what or who is holding the cards doesn't add a level of video or animation. The fact that many people around the world are holding the cards and the quality of the experience is what is special.

But it's stop-motion animation, innit? The longest cut is a single frame. What's this got to do with the ten-minute length of film? Was that description supposed to be sarcasm?

Ah, I hadn't realized that. We switched to displaying YT and Vimeo vids in iframes and some things on the page always assumed an object or embed tag. Will look into fixing it when possible.
Thanks for reporting.

The "BRIEF" and "LONG" markers are getting stuffed beneath the video today. "BLOCKED" is behaving properly.
Here's two examples:

hmm. looks super-bogus to my cynical eyes.
stop motion animation has been with us for a long time.
Dad leaves old, busto '58 BMW to his son; see what happens
Father-son connection things like this get me... I was happily watching right up until that last shot of the plaque... 'For my Father, who taught me all the things I ever needed to know in life...'
That almost choked me up.
Mothers get a bum wrap in the son to parents relationship stakes. Mothers (in general) are always there, do so much, do the things day in day out that allow the kids to thrive and have a wonderful life. And then the Dads get all the glory by doing a cool science experiment on the weekend or spending some time in the shed with their boys.
It's not fair, but it is the case more often than not.
And I try my darndest to give my kids memories of building things and doing science experiments, and doing stop motion animation etc. and yet always feel like I'm not giving them quite enough.
Ahh parenting, it's a wonderful thing.

This is a small part of an article about the CellScope:
"through to the maximum 50x magnification, which can show individual white and red blood cells"
I dunno about your digital cameras but none of mine do this. I know this magnification isn't that but a device made with that level of usage probably comes with some advantages.
>> ^cybrbeast:
Awesome animation, but why use the CellScope? The Macro function on any digital camera would function equally well or better for this purpose.
That's exactly it, this video doesn't use anything close to those magnifications, so I don't see the point of using the CellScope. If you've seen any good macro photos you can see that their quality is much better than the stop motion frames used in this video.
