You know her name is right there at the top of her profile page!!!

You might not have heard of Bill Payne, but he's worked with bands and artists you have heard of, like Pink Floyd and Stevie Nicks.

Oooh, wow. I thought she was way younger. I never knew her real name. Haha. I don't know those band people and group either.

Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum

Trout says...

Ah, one of the all-time great singles of the rock era. So mature, yet it was their first single. I envy those hearing this for the first time (and they're just kids in this video... kids!). One of Paul McCartney's favorite songs:

McCartney: "It's got to be "A Whiter Shade of Pale." The first time I ever heard it was the night I met Linda. We met at the Bag O' Nails, and we went on to the Speakeasy, and they played the record of it there. We were with Keith Moon of the Who and Eric Burdon of the Animals, and we were all trying to figure out who it was. We all thought it must be Stevie Winwood, but it turned out to be Procol Harum. We just said, 'This is the best song ever, man.'"

Rap Critic: Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio

ChaosEngine says...

I don't really think he gives Stevie Wonder enough credit. Yeah, the rap was good, but without the chorus hook, it would never have achieved the kind of success it did.

I loved his angry rant near the end only to make a damning indictment of modern commercialised hip hop.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's Roadie is the Epitome of a Professional

Trout says...

Yep, and notice Stevie's little head nod just before the replacement guitar arrives, right on time (in the vocal break).

And afterwards, here's what we don't see (but is surely happening backstage) - the roadie rushing to restring and quickly tune-up Stevie's favorite guitar.

High Maintenance - Helen
