Wikileaks Press Conference, London 2010 Iraq War Diaries
Thought I'd post this here too. Cause I always need to be heard!
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/online/secret-war-at-the-heart-of-wikileaks-2115637.html
This Article goes on about a Civil war brewing at Wikileaks. Although I find the timing of the Article suspect I usually trust the Independent.
Just as well if there are some former employees of Wikileaks that want to contribute more small leaks that will help shape reform in smaller closed off countries or corporations then how about they create their own Wikileaks? Someone should gather these people together...it's not hard it's all over the internet, and get them working on a smaller leak program. It wouldn't have to go after the American military machine because that seems to be covered...instead it could include all of what Wikileaks doesn't.
And hopefully the more of these programs pop up the more free our Media will become because they cannot simply ignore this stuff. Just look at when Blogs get ahold of something and it's all they can talk about...the media eventually has to comment on it. Lets put some pressure on them...start up more sites!

DCS: A-10C Warthog Game Mindblowingly Realistic
I wonder how well it handles errors/mistakes in the start-up sequence. I'm sure you could cause some real problems if you went into one of these and started flipping switches at random.
Fire Dept. Lets House Burn After Man Neglects To Pay Fee
this is why i'm blown the fuck away regarding why people think adding a public health care option would be bad. "oh noes socialism!"
fuck that. police is socialized, fire is socialized, why not health care? "i don't want to pay taxes for Joe who does something stupid and causes injury to himself." but you sure as fuck want the fire dept to put out the fire Joe caused because he doesn't know how to deep-fry a turkey. it just doesn't make any goddamned sense.
i'd much rather pay my taxes and know that if i snap my ankle walking down the icy steps on my way to work that i can go to a hospital, get it taken care of and move on with life.
just the same way as i currently know that if a fire starts up in my apartment complex, i can count on the fire department to show up and put it out.
imagine if every time you called the police or fire departments they made you sit in a waiting room and fill out a form, then 3 hours later when they're ready to see you they fix the problem and send you home with a bill.

related to the video, they really should have written in a contingency plan if they do have an out-of-city-limits/out-of-service-area caveat. something to the effect of "$75/year to be covered without question, $5,000 fine for services rendered if you're not part of the 'extended service' program."
either way, put out the fucking fire and deal with the monetary politics afterwards.

edit: holy shit @ the TYT video. i've never seen Cenk that angry before.

If i was "generic" good looking i would concider it. unfortunatly im realy average looking allso my gf wouldnt let me do it.
men can do web porn if they want to for women and for gay guys , but i actualy think thats realy hard work faking been aroused for hours at a time, compared to dancing on a stage and just been chatty and flerty.
it is intresting how in japan u have bars with men in for woman and thats totaly normal , yet over here we have nothing , if i had the cash its something id start up.
Last Combat Troops Leave Iraq
Our government is just saying that we have left Iraq so they can attack Iran soon. We really arn't out of Iraq. Three wars just sounds like too much even for The CIA/Pentagon brass. 2 wars is apearantly Ok.
If we dont start up with Iran, Isreal will drag us in, I'll bet in less then 1 month from now.
Alien Swarm : New, kick ass free game from Valve
The price of AAA games on steam that are not vlave are a total joke , i dont see how you can defend it.
last game i bought bad company 2 , steam price £29.99 amazon with free 3 day delivery £15 , play.com allso had it for free 3 day delivery for £15 , games satay at full retail price for longer on steam , and u dont have the advantage of trading it in if you stop playing the game + as you say no manual.
If you preorder on amazon its poasted out so it arives on relase day , and often arives day before.
It only anoys me because i would rather use steam , i allso know its largely due to publishers forcing that price on steam. another thing thats shit is that you buy a game on steam thinking steam will auto update it and all the bullshit coppy protection will be handled by steam but often thats not the case and u still have to manual patch or sign up to exsternal websites and make acvcounts for games. the New IL2 game was a compleat farce and arma 2 took a good 4 months before you could patch it with steam.
I think Valve are now in a positoin to say to publishers , "u need to have it at x price or we wont host it " and allso force them to acomidate the steam network if they want there game on it.
I have used steam since first beta came out and its gr8 for all the valve and hl stuff , patching HL1 to play dod and cs1.4 was a total ball pain and steam fixed that (lol patch 501015-50102 then patch 50192-2304).

evan if this game is good ,
steem is still flawed
Im the typ of person that would buy all my games on steam , I have maby 20 steam games as it is , mostly valve games but maby 5 non valve games. The big problem with steam are the prices for this reasoin i have bought my last 4 games from amazon , play.com game and game station. There is something realy wrong if you can pick up a game cheeper from bricks and morter . (steam prices r only good for old games or valve games when they promote them)
Another seperate issue i have with steem and valve is that the games seem to be more and more like console games , in game play and design , I have nothing against console games but i have a 360 to play console games on , with my pc i prefer games that are more saphisticated.
In some ways steem is gr8 id much rather have a company like valve do Digital distrabutoin than say EA or some random allso there promoting and pushing indi games is nice. I just think with some small changes it could be super amazing rather than just another way to get games.
Steam is not really flawed. Just because you might be able to get a slightly better price on Amazon does not take into account the full situation. With Amazon, you have to pay for the shipping. Not to mention waiting. It isn't so bad if you have an Amazon Prime account, but then you are paying more anyway so it doesn't matter. Plus, you can pre-load most games on Steam when they are first released, meaning the day before you can have it installed and ready to go, then the next morning just start up Steam and have at it.
Plus, with game stores like Gamestop and such, you have to drive their, find the game, check out, and drive back, probably for the same price as it was on Steam.
The only thing I don't like about the Steam digital distribution is lack of manuals are other box content that comes with retail store purchases.
As for games becoming more "consolized", that is the developer's fault, not Steam's. Besides, there are plenty of sophisticated PC games on Steam, you just have to weed out the bad ones.
In fact, the deals Steam hosts almost 24/7/365 are incredible. They gave out Portal for free, this for free. 600 games under $10. 180 under $5. I mean, the THQ pack alone is about 5 years worth of games for like $20.
Edit: Unfortunately the THQ pack is no longer on sale, it is back to $99. That was a steal while it was cheap, though.

Seattle officer punches girl in face during jaywalking stop
Dunno, black dude in light blue shirt looks like he thought shit was going down and was trying to keep black girl in the pink from getting involved. So, one person there thought it was a good idea to let the cop make his arrest instead of interfering.
And when she got hit black dude in light blue shirt was still trying to pull her away more forcefully.
Girl being arrest throughout most the video, from what can be seen was pretty being pretty irrational, just repeating the same things over and over and fighting back...and not calmly at any point. So unless that cop was trying something really serious prior to the video starting up....I think he was in the right since she seemed to emotionally distressed to deal with the situation calmly. Otherwise, crying or acting out would be an automatic get out of a ticket. Just as if a police officer pulled someone over for some traffic violation and the guy behind the wheel was screaming and raging about him stopping him (like a drastic over reaction that doesn't subside as seen in video)...he should detain him as well for his own safety and the safety of others because he isn't safe to be on the roads.
Crowd gathering....she wasn't in mortal danger, so them filming is probably the best bet to have the truth of the situation brought out. But I have to say the video reminds me of the court shows you see on TV when they get upset and keep repeating the same stuff over and over louder and louder so you can't hear what the other side is saying. Even the guy shooting the video was doing it when the cop punch the girl in pink who was getting physically involved in it.
And girl in pink backed down pretty quick when he socked her in the face, so I don't think she was expecting to have a man try to hurt her back. I think he was just trying to arrest the girl without seriously hurting her, because there are some arm locks you can get a person in where it'll break or dislocate the arm if they keep struggling. And they are bad enough to make the UFC guys who take punches and kicks to the head to tap out instead of dealing with recovery from the damage the hold can do.
Giant Fish Head is Going to Eat You!
I'm not upvoting because of the way these people treat this...
I think you could say that it IS dead, all higher brain functions are gone and this is just reflex action. What's happening with the fish head IS interesting, it's fascinating what can keep going for a long time after 'death'. I used to fish for trout in a friend's pool (they'd put trout in there during the cold months, let the grow and then fish for them before next summer)... after killing one we took the heart out and put it in a glass of water. It kept beating for a very long time, at least 15 minutes or so if I remember correctly. And if it stopped, you'd prod it and it'd start up again. Fascinating. So I'm not adverse to being intrigued by such things.
BUT, there was dignity in the killing of the fish, and just awe at how the heart kept going.
This sort of sick laughing at the head of an animal moving after death is disgusting and speaks to a lack of respect for living things which I hate. I think that if I heard 'awwww' or 'oooh', or 'wow' or the like I'd be much more inclined to upvote.
YES we kill things and eat them, but it can be done without being like this.

6:10? Uh, what did I miss? My friend and I saw nothing? I watched it twice! Are you pulling my antennae?
I do believe that he is, as we say in the business, fucking with you.
absolutely not true. you gotta watch it again to spot it. not just that time mark otherwise you won't notice what happened. you gotta watch it from the start up to 6:10 mark.
I did! I saw nothing changed. OK, just spill the beans for us please. Or tell me privately.
then it won't be as fun when you realize it
that's like telling the punch line before the joke
Bah, frak this. My friend and I can't find it. Whatever.
