It's viewed at a very long range, through fog and clouds. The perspective is because of the very long range, and the image is very dimmed because of the cloud cover.
The image is underexposed, and therefore we can only clearly see the very brightest part of the image, which is the flames inside the thrusters - that part is hidden in severely overexposed flare blooms in all the other recordings. The rest of the rocket is barely seen through the clouds, and would have been a bit more visible if the image had a lighter exposure, but then the nozzles would have been bright blooms, and we wouldn't have been able to see any details inside.
If you look closely, you faintly see not only the spaceship, but also the huge flickering flame columns behind the nozzles.

Tried this once, didnt figure out ANYTHING, just stared at some spaceship in empty space while navigating some config menus I didnt understand at all. Ragequitted after half an hour cause nothing happened. But this trailer was pretty awesome.

Was anyone else disappointed that they never made a Starfighter game, like the one in the movie? It was too detailed to make when the movie came out, but they could have made it 5 years later.

I love the Millennium Falcon... one of the greatest spaceships in sci-fi. But watching it closely, it has some stupid design flaws... all that wiring and pipes and whatnot totally exposed.

Gravity uses existing technology, existing spacecraft, existing spacesuits.

Interstellar uses make believe technology, make believe spaceships, make believe space suits, make believe calamity, make believe killer sandstorms, make believe space planets and plenty more hokey bullshit.

S'ok if you want space opera for 2 hours but I like my sci-fi more believable.
