Using the power of mathematics (props to GeeSussFreeK up there), and a rough approximation of 1.38s from apex to smackdown, I have deduced the following:

Well of course it's Staged...everyone knows what they're doing. The most accurate description of wrestling I can think of is it's basically Medieval Times. There's a mapped out physical competition that requires mostly physical acting with some words. If you analyze it it's just like say a physical play or even Cirqu De Solei or however you spell it.

Donald Trump and ZZ Top were both utter ass as guest hosts. However Seth Green was a huge fan and it was great to see him do it, as well as Shaq who also took it seriously and did a very good job.

That being said, Raw is the Weakest of their shows right now...with Smackdown making mistakes with their characters and ECW looking stronger than all of the shows.

^I have no problem being skeptical of the chi KO depicted in the link above, but the chop KO actually makes sense. I've seen how fast you can choke someone out if done correctly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the trauma of the chop combined with the brief interruption of blood flow had an effect.

I'm not willing to let someone chop me in the neck though. Those students are morons.

Its been my impression that for the most part, TDS has always seemed to come out with a Liberal viewpoint mostly because its been on for 10years now, and 8 of them have been with Bush at the helm. When you have someone like Bush presenting you with new material practically every day, a show like that is going to end up with a Left sided appearance, whether they are in fact or not.

I think Stewart *could* go after Obama if things really fuck up, but I'm not sure if they actually will. Personally I'd rather not have Obama fail badly enough to warrant a smackdown by TDS, merely because I think if they did in fact fail that badly, the US might be so far down a hole by that time, we might not come out of it. Still, there will have to be some screw-ups at least even if Obama succeeds in pulling this around, and I'd enjoy any amount of TDS coverage.

Wasn't Crossfire canceled a short time after Stewart came on?

You want a high-minded discussion of economics to rant about, this video would be a better place to comment, though it's socialist-free already.

I used think that all these girls on Maury or Jerry were overacting and it was all fake, and to some degree, that's probably true. But then, I got a job working with complex mental health and high needs youth. I now work with girls EXACTLY like this on a daily basis.

I'll tell you how they get like this. Most of the time, the story goes:
Parents did crack and drank alcohol while pregnant with them and after being born, they were neglected, physically abused and sexually abused by their parents or others in the community. I've worked with girls who were cleaning up their father's puke cause he's wasted and then make breakfast for him, while drunk themselves...at the age of 11.

You'd think a good smackdown would work, and I've seen some girls mouth off cops and get...well, a smackdown. But even that and some time in prison doesn't change much. A little abuse goes a long way.

Daily, some times for several hours. Occasionally, I take breaks away from it for weeks at a time (3 months in one case), usually b/c of meatspace stuff.

Visits are almost strictly for videos now, though. The commentary on current events vids started to turn me off enough that I actually turned on a few channel filters to deal with it. Basically, I come to videosift for entertainment, not to have the horrors of the world bashed into my brain anymore than they already are. That part of VS has just become too tiresome. I do get the commenting bug sometimes, though. In fact, I think I posted more comments today than in the entire previous week.

Been a member since 7/07, lurked for a couple months before that. (I think the desire to comment on this video is what finally caused me to register. Wow, I was pretty angry. ) No plans on leaving anytime soon, but who knows -- PornBumber may start taking up all my time.
