US sues to block TX abortion law

bobknight33 says...

@noseeem

Yep I'm shitty with grammar and spelling But I can fix anything and hold my own in front any Dr. or C suite within my field of expertise.

Personal experience? BSEET Penn State.
33 years as a medical Field service Engineer.

28 years working for Global conglomerates and 5 years in house at UNC Chapel hill NC.
I’ve been with Siemens Medical and General Electric most of my career.
I’ve serviced/ install Cathlabs, Vascular labs, Rad/ RF rooms and Mammo rooms. Plus others.

Last 20 years installing / servicing Medical Ultrasound.
This includes Cardiac, Radiology ultrasound and Woman’s health, OBGYN
I’ve seen more ultrasounds hearts and heartbeats than you can imagine..
Being Hippa compliant, I look at images for quality and for servicing.

All the Techs I talk to say the same . Heartbeat starts about the 6 to 10 week of pregnancy
And yes there are images that capture this along with all the other images and measurements. Doppler is used for this.

Per quick Google search
When does the heartbeat show on ultrasound?
A fetal heartbeat may first be detected by a vaginal ultrasound as early as 5 1/2 to 6 weeks after gestation. That's when a fetal pole, the first visible sign of a developing embryo, can sometimes be seen. But between 6 1/2 to 7 weeks after gestation, a heartbeat can be better assessed.

Your fucking up the wrong tree today. Go back to being the big guy at you high school.

You can even do this at home

Now, again I ask…what’s your personal experience on this topic? I’m absolutely certain it’s less, there’s no way an 8th grade dropout works in medicine. You have no experience and no education, no understanding, no knowledge at all, just what bubba dun told you down to da boars nest.

It’s what there is at 6 weeks. The whole thing is less than a newt in the egg, no limbs, 1/2 the size of a pea….the heart isn’t formed at all. Get someone to read for you, watch a film, this isn’t hard info to find if you remove your head from your anus. Look at real medical sites, not anti abortion propaganda sites, they lie, exaggerate, and obfuscate.

The Most Popular Programming Languages - 1965/2020

Mordhaus says...

I had to study assembler in college before I went to work for Texas Instruments back in the 90's. Used it a bit at Siemens as well.

When I moved on to work at Dell I stepped away from programming into troubleshooting device failures, so I haven't done programming since the late 90s.

German Train makes Music

oritteropo says...

Well it is an electric train... I did mean to put the info into the description, but only put it in the tags.

The train is a Siemens Taurus, ES 64 U2. According to Jimbo's big bag'o'trivia, it has a top speed of 230 km/h, although there is a really similar model which proved itself quite a bit faster at 357 km/h in testing prior to delivery. It also says it has a quill drive, but I'm not really sure what that means or why it would reduce track forces.

That has to be some sort of electrical motor that is making that sound, wouldn't you think?

Elon Musk introduces the TESLA ENERGY POWERWALL

radx says...

I'm intrigued by the different strategies they seem to have taken with regards to different markets.

The US market has been covered here already. Living off the grid, buffer for power outages, etc.

But they appear to market the Powerwall as a decentralized buffer system for our regional/national grid, as a means to shave off the spikes in power usage at times when both wind and solar fail to meet expectations. Seems like a virtual power plant of Powerwalls would be an alternative to gas turbine plants. Add some pumped-storage hydroelectricity in Norway and the Alps, and the need for standby power plants would be vastly reduced.

Additionally, they are probably aiming at the time when diminishing feed-in tariffs for PV panels make it more attractive to charge batteries instead of feeding into the grid.

However, even if they manage to sell only a handful of Powerwalls, it'll force all the other players to get off their fat asses for once. Politics managed to kill the local solar industry and the big players came up with fuck all in terms of meaningful innovation over the last years.
Yes, I'm looking at you, Siemens!

Lack Of Skilled Workers Is Cause Of Unemployment

DerHasisttot says...

>> ^radx:

The folks at Siemens have been singing their tune for years. Give them <100 qualified candidates for every opening and they will proclaim a shortage of skilled workers. Despicable bunch of wankers, if you ask me.

I think it's a ploy to get a broader qualified workforce so they don't have to pay as much as they do now.

Anatomy of the Stuxnet Computer Virus

9547bis says...

Sensationalist Bullshit Alert: Stuxnet used 3 zero-day exploits (although this was incorrectly thought to be 4 at first), not 20. Mind you, 3 is impressive enough.

On the other hand, it stole 2 certificates, not one (but not at the same time).

The bit about Siemens is also kind of bullshit-y: Siemens CPL (the targeted hardware) is commodity hardware, it's *everywhere*. It's not some kind of vault door technology.

What is in Plano, Texas other than a lot of FedEx assholes?

"The city is home to many corporate headquarters, including Ericsson Inc., Rent-A-Center, Crossmark, Dell Services, Pizza Hut, Alliance Data Systems, HP Enterprise Services, JCPenney, Frito-Lay, Cinemark Theatres, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Siemens PLM Software."

I stand corrected, it is of the schtuff that many a JG Ballard novel is made of.

The Future? - Nokia Mixed Reality

theali says...

Nokia has sold eavesdropping equipment to Iran's government which is used to oppress its citizens. Iranian have repeatedly asked Nokia to share with them details of the technology, so that they can avoid or bypass the eavesdropping. But Nokia has refused to share life saving information, and is continueing its service contract with the Iranian government!

This technology has been used to threaten, imprison, rape and even result in death of people. Still Nokia is NOT sharing the detail.

For example with Siemens, we know they have sold Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to Iranian government, in which case SSL would allow safe surfing. But same level of information is not publicized by Nokia, I was very shocked ans saddened.
