Cenk Uygur debates Sam Harris

billpayer says...

@enoch agree 100%. You got it.

@gwiz665 @Ashenkase @Taint Wow. Were you listening? Did we see the same video ? Harris made not one legitimate point.

Sam Harris has proven himself to be an ignorant warmongering bigot, holding one set of rules for Christianity and Judaism, whilst vilifying Islam in an utterly unreasonable way. The same acts carried out by Christianity and Judaism are excused. If a muslim had suggested the things Harris is quoted as saying there would be international outrage, water boarding or worse. As Cenk aptly put it, all religions are equally guilty.

Begging Cenk to pull the Reza Aslan video was just sad and sickening, crying that he had no chance at recourse whilst being interviewed for 3 hours.. pathetic.

How to deal with naughty kid

lucky760 says...

That's one of the biggest problems in this country: Parents who love their children so much that they let them do whatever the fuck they want create exactly the same type of monsters as parents, if any, who ignore/neglect/leave their children to do whatever the fuck they want.

I'm sickened by parents who just sit there ignoring their kids or occasionally ask them if they could please find it in themselves to perhaps decide to stop their bad behavior.

Real parenting means teaching your offspring to live in a society and be conscientious and considerate of others, not placating them by feeding their bad behavior with positive reinforcement and hoping desperately they'll parent themselves.

I always think of a kid as starting out as an ugly pile of soft, wet clay. You as a parent must get your hands dirty and form and shape that thing into something beautiful, otherwise it'll just harden into a horrible mess that can never be made right again.

Never underestimate the power of love to make a parent completely blind and oblivious to the bad things their children do.

Racist Attack on Brisbane Train

Protecting and Serving in Minnesota

00Scud00 says...

Cops do have a lot of discretion, and in this case it would seem they didn't bother using any of it. I'm willing to bet the cops didn't even bother to find out what was going on, a little asking around and they would have found out that he was in a public place and had every right to be there, this could have been solved in minutes rather than months. And the cop who told him he was going to jail sounded positively excited about it, it was pretty sickening.

Cops have a lot of discretion when it comes to making arrests. In general, people who act civilly when questioned by the police go on their way. People who make a fuss, even when innocent of any wrongdoing, talk themselves into an arrest on the basis of acting in such a way that a disorderly conduct arrest becomes imminent. Loud, boisterous, foul language will get you arrested plenty fast.

Laying Down on Railroad Tracks - Poland Style

transporter says...

really though, can't upvote this. can't give these guys what they want. if you were the conductor and that guy did die, how well do you think you would deal with that, even knowing that there was nothing you could do? it's sickening to impose such a risk on someone else's psyche.

Irreversible: Rape scene (disturbing)

rugby-girl says...

As a victim of rape some of you lot sicken me... I came across this as I'm doing some research about how rape is portrayed in the media. Lonestar you should be ashamed, think how you would feel if this was your daughter because it dammed near killed my dad! You are a sad pathetic individual who feels the need to air his views online and despite all I've been through its you I feel sorry for. I will never be as small minded and delusuonal as you are.
And for the record, my sex life with my boyfriend was varied and adventurous, and low and behold it didn't stop me getting raped.
People who feel the need to do this to another human are sick individuals and should take a minute to think about how it ruins the victims life!

Bill Maher says Shuck it to seniors

chingalera says...

Let's go dig up that Harley and toss that carcass on the highway somewhere?!

The tragedy to be found in the remainder of one's life-savings or what's left of their pension or even the insurance they've paid into going to medical expenses in the last days or weeks of their lives should sicken their survivors and be enough to indict the entire medical establishment on gross negligence and fraud.

Bill Nye the Science Guy Dispels Poverty Myths

Fairbs says...

I agree with a lot of what you say. I kind of felt that he wasn't necessarily suggesting a solution, but more saying that it isn't a futile problem. I would love to have seen our country go into Rwanda or Darfur and stop what was going on and I think it could have been done easily. I don't think that is our agenda unfortunately or the agenda of the people in power at least. The American people probably would have been proud of stopping another genocide. I read a book about one of the survivors (lost boys) and it was sickening what he lived through.

What Conan's Watching

Payback says...

Those TV shows with the 3-4 year old "Jon Bennet Ramsay" clones sicken me. The sexualization of toddlers is disgusting and vile. Everyone (over 18yrs) involved with those shows require serious mental health treatment. Every last one of them -the "mothers" all the way to the producers- have serious pedophiliac problems.

Mike Tyson & Evander Holyfield Reminisce About the Ear Bite

bcglorf says...

I must be old and grumpy, but I don't want this in the happy channel.

I'm doubtful if you had his rape victim on tape to chat about the old days it'd be as happy.

The continued/renewed status of Tyson as some hollywood type just sickens me. It's as if a whole segment of our society is 'open minded' enough to look past his rape conviction because after all, when he was in his prime was he ever good at punching people.

Truth in Media: Vaccine Court and Autism

Kittens, Australia, A Message

poolcleaner says...

I never purchase animals from breeders or shops, because I view their ilk as unethical in the face of the thousands of animals that ALREADY EXIST and DIE every year.

Stupid humans and their penchant for declaring one set of genetic qualities as better than another. A dog is a dog. A cat is a cat. Save the ones that need saving and halt your superfluous breeding to make money off of selective assholes.

I've owned a beautiful russian blue, orange tabby, dalmatian mix, german shepard, and austrailian cattle dog that I purchased from the pound. Pretty cheap, I did a good deed, and they ended up being some of the greatest companions of my life.

Seriously, stop breeding animals for so-called "pure" breeds. It's sickening. Actual lovers of animals and all things cuddly, think about this fact and stop doublethinking yourself into believing you're an animal lover. You're NOT. You love the idea of something cute that you believe is superior to another something that is less cute. And that line of thinking most certainly does not qualify you for anything other than a cretin.

South Park On Cable Companies

Krupo says...

BS argument: Netflix, you may for an all-in package. It's a real buffet.

Cable has some many tiers of service, it's a sickening fast food restaurant that stuffs rancid rotten meat in your salad.

Are you seriously telling me that you would watch every show available on nextflix if you got it, there isn't content that your paying for that you don't want? How many episodes of Caillou would you be watching on hulu plus so that you could watch Community? you still end up paying for content you don't watch.
