The Bizarre Far-Right Billionaire Behind Trump's Presidency
Oh no, sir. I KNOW he lied repeatedly, he wrote a book about how to get ahead by lying.
On the other side, as you put it (and you missed me screaming for months that there aren't only two horrendous choices) was a normal, underhanded, misdirecting politician.
Email cover-up? Really? What crime was she covering, now that we have seen them all....none. Was she transparent about it, no, but as evidence that Trump is at least as bad on that front if not worse....tax returns is all I need say.
Pay for play, after Devos blatantly bought a cabinet position you would actually blindly make that claim with no evidence? Let me guess, you're afraid of the fish people Alex Jones told you about too. Is she corrupt, yes, is she corrupt compared to a man that's screwed over every business partner he's ever had and the taxpayer by intentionally bankrupting his companies repeatedly by hiring and massively overpaying other Trump companies, using that method to steal all funds and assets and build up massive debt, then declaring bankruptcy, stiffing his partners and creditors, and walking away (or in a few cases doing it over before being forced to leave), no. By comparison she's above reproach. Clinton may fit the definition of corrupt, but the word barely covers the insane backstabbing, admitted and repeated bribery (remember he claimed to have bought numerous politicians by bribing them, he thinks it's how government works), and theft from his partners that Trump is proud of.
So yes, tissue paper thin glass snow globe......
So you are really basing this all off of the notion you THINK Trump lied to get elected. Lets just assume for a second he did, not that I do or don't think so, but lets just ASSUME he did...
What was on the other side of the ballot? Pure-as-the-driven-snow candidate HRC? Madam email cover-up? The Queen of Pay-for-Play? The DEFINITION of currupt politicians?
So yes, Glass Houses...
Do you consider the film Die Hard a Christmas movie? (User Poll by eric3579)
Man, I'm suuuper late to this party....
Anyways, Die Hard is and is not a Christmas movie at the same time. And it depends on your definition what makes a Christmas movie.
I'm gonna take an insane detour here that'll make sense.
Is Star Wars Episode 4 a science fiction movie?
That setting is futuristic, sure, must be sci-fi then. Lasers, Spaceships, Robots, the works. The checklist is done. Sci-Fi.
But what are the themes it touches upon, what is the story?
A young farmer's boy (naturally an adoptred orphan) named Luke is dragged into a rebellion against an evil king (Palpatine) by accident. When the boy get's hold of a pretty princess' (RIP Carrie Fisher) message to an old ally and menthor (Obi) through the fault of her two comic-relief servants (Robot-slaves), he decides to seek the adventure he's yearning for. He finds the old man (by fucking up) and both seek the next harbor to board a ship to join the resistance. The hire smuggler/pirate/bandit/nerfherder Han and his foreign friend Chewie and cross paths with
the black knightLord Vader, the evil kings enforcer. Hijinks ensue, princess rescued, the magic castle/ship/train of the evil king get's destroyed and everyone gets a medal. What's exactly sci-fi here?
That could play out in medieval times. Or ancient greece. Or the wild west. Or on Christmas.
The setting and the genre are two different things and both determine what you'll label a story with.
Alien is a horror movie, a slasher. Aliens is a war movie. Alien³ is a horror movie of the animal-gone-maneater kind. Alien: Resurrection is a disaster movie (hihi).
They're all sci-fi, like Star Wars. Because of the setting.
Now look at Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 2 Episode 9 'The Measure Of A Man'.
Lasers, spaceships, robots, the usual. What is it about?
A Robot who's so sophisticated that he has to go to trial to prove he's not property but a real boy. Sure, you'll say, I've seen Pinocchio and I can see african men argue the same stuff in the 18th century. The point of the story is not only that is humanity is questioned, the point is he's an artificial lifeform. The question is not only 'What makes you a person?' but also 'When does artificial intelligence become an artificial person?'
That shit won't work in a setting without spaceships and robots. That's sci-fi because of its story.
So, setting and story are both what makes you label a movie a certain way but they're not the same.
Die Hard. Happens on Christmas. Could be Thanksgiving too. Setting interchangeable.
Story? Doesn't contain any christmas-related themes beyond two estranged family members become closer again. That could happen at a funeral as well.
I'm in my mid-thirties and I love Die Hard. It's one of the best 80's action movies. I can watch it anytime and I've seen it at least 20 times (noit joking here). But mostly in the summer. But I understand the question and its diverse answers perfectly well.
Die Hard is a christmas movie if it feels like one to you. For me, Lord of the Rings (especially Fellowship) feels like a Christmas movie to me. I've seen them all in theatres in December, I watched them on VHS and Blu-Ray only in December so far. They have fuck all to do with the occasion but this year was the first one I didn't watch any of them in December. And I feel I missed something this year. I'm not sure I can watch them at this time of the year.
Ghost in the Shell VFX Behind-the-Scenes
You still can...they are called 'Chūshingura' .
'The Loyal 47 Ronin' is one version you can watch for free with subtitles, it can be found on YT in 2 parts, part one is at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE9lG7G6t4E
Many are just named 'Chūshingura', including the most famous one, made in 1962 named "Chūshingura: Hana no Maki, Yuki no Maki" There are many versions. None of the Japanese made versions have dragons or witches, as far as I know. I'm almost certain they are ALL better than "47 Ronin", but I haven't seen them all...I just know it's true.
I would have still seen 47 Ronin if Keanu wasn't in it, but at the same time I probably would have thought it wasn't as bad.

Trailer 'Chinese Zodiac' - New Jackie Chan Movie
Jackie's fucking awesome...if you think all of his movies are the same, you clearly haven't seen them all. Check out "Little Big Soldier" if you want something different. That may well be his best movie, and nothing like his usual fare.
Personally, I very much enjoy his standard flicks, in part because I know he does all his own stunts, and in part because I like the fact that he clearly doesn't take himself all that seriously. He's more than happy to laugh at himself.
Ross Sisters slaughterhouse
I know its just contortion, I've seen them all before but when you put that soundtrack to it.... for some reason I'm creeped out.
The Bechdel Test for Women in Movies
I understand her point but this *is* Hollywood we're talking about. Comfortable, conservative, racist, sexist Hollywood.
And choose better examples to make your point - Shawshank Redemption? Really?
Anyway just off the top of my head I thought of a few films that passed (or I assume they do as I haven't seen them all - correction, I've not seen Charlie's Angels but have seen the rest)
Charlie's Angels
Ghostworld
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Monster (the one about Aileen Wuornos)
Thelma and Louise
So in the context I've described maybe things aren't as bad as you might be led to believe. I'd also imagine that some of her other examples (think I saw Jolie there as Lara Croft) would be seen as models of empowerment despite lacking dialogue with another woman.

I don't think they'd have me seeing as I'm not a pure-bred. People like that are usually pretty narrow-minded.
If the International Football Factories taught me anything, it's to never EVER go on an away game to eastern europe
