Salvia Trip Gone Wrong

New Rule – For the Love of Bud

shagen454 says...

My opinion is any natural "drug" should be legal. Any substance that is found in nature, with minimal processing should be absolutely 100% legal, no doubt about it.

The irony of this is that there are still great legal natural "drugs" out there. They still allow San Pedro (mescaline), you can still easily buy Morning Glory (LSA similar to LSD), you can still buy plants to create ayahuasca and extract DMT, you can still buy Yopo seeds and snort that shit (5 MEO DMT) and obviously everyone knows about Salvia.

The only reason I can think of that these haven't been scheduled is due to the fact that they never became very popular/rampant in popular culture.

And now they have more to deal with - due to the banning of weed and stuff people want like MDMA - everyday dangerous new analogs (far more dangerous than the real stuff) come out which are "legal" until banned. They ought to just let people do what they want to do and let the "free market" sort it out like the capitalist bullshit they propagate everywhere else. There are successful working models out there to guide the little boy blue.

How to DMT

shagen454 says...

It can last longer, depends on how much you smoke. It's nothing like Salvia, but salvia is comparatively similar in that you smoke it, it's very strong, comes on quickly, and doesn't last long.

Salvia is considered an "atypical psychedelic" because it fits into three molds: dissociative, deliriant & psychedelic but is no where close to being as clear, awesome and unimaginable as DMT. The main difference being is that when it hits - it hits inside of your mind so you can literally see this awesome thing happen from inside your brain very, very clearly.

Also, I agree with everything @newtboy says. Most of these videos have their little "educational use only" disclaimer at the beginning, but this guy actually sounds like he is advocating use (and irresponsible use in many of these cases), despite saying exactly the opposite.

Clearly he's not met many people who have had negative experiences; there are many.

Also, I can name many people, alive today, who have absolutely killed it in terms of contemporary success in the modern world, to speak to newts point about evidence of positive, individual evolution. If that's one way you measure success, I personally know multiple people who have made, literally, millions (billions in one case) and were significantly inspired by experiences like these in their lives. Two problems: It's an illegal substance, and it would be taboo to tie public figures names with it. Secondly, there are too many factors to attribute personal success to one event or influence, but there are also very few things in the world that can provide an experience so profound that it does impact your entire life long world view.

While I cannot know what many experience - I have been the sitter for over 40 people. They tell me what they experience, when they come back their eyes say it all. They could never have imagined what had happened to them was possible. None of them had negative experiences. Though, for a strong "teaching" psychedelic like DMT a negative experience is not always "negative" there is a story to it. I should know, I would say that one of my "breakthrough" trips was the most terrifying experience I have ever had hands down. But, I learned from what that experience wanted me to experience and what I was taught has had long-lasting positive components in my life.

I think you are confusing DMT/ayahuasca with other psychedelics, salvia, mushrooms, LSD, MXE... etc etc. Show me ONE story where someone has committed suicide from taking DMT.

While, I would not say I am a drug riddled person, I almost never take them.
I have "experienced" substances out of curiosity. I've taken many different kinds and all of the big psychedelics, LSD, shrooms, mescaline a few times. I learned that the propaganda around these substances has no merit. Obviously, a person needs to take them seriously and with respect so that nothing goes awry. And no, DMT does not compare at all.

But,I am very well versed on the topic (DMT), I researched all of the negative/positive effects for about six years before I actually did it myself. I was very careful, since if you have ever read a decent trip report it sounds absolutely crazy. There is no way anything could take you to places like that, to meet creatures of a bizarre sort, it's just not possible I thought. Well, I found out, it's similiar to decent trip reports X 1,000,000. As Joe Rogan says - it's "mushrooms + aliens x 1,000,000". But, nothing in the human language(s) could ever prepare anyone for it and no one can express even 1% of what it is like.

I think you are over-exaggerating the negative effects while shunning the reality of what this molecule is, it is a mystery that can only be understood after having experienced it firsthand. It only lasts 5-10 minutes (2 million years) what are you waiting for?

You understand that people react to DMT differently, right? You understand that some people have horrifying trips on DMT, so horrifying they commit suicide while on it, often enough that it is a drug that requires a 'sitter' to take with any small amount of safety. You do understand that some people have flashbacks of this debilitating horrifying experience at random times in the future, destroying the possibility of a normal life, right?
Your attempts to cajole others into trying a quite dangerous drug with NO mention of the dangers is irresponsible in the extreme.
My own drug experience is wide and varied, and I have had un-named drugs that did nearly exactly what others (poorly) describe their DMT trips as doing. It was not pleasant or useful in my life, and was given to me by those that acted exactly as you do...hyper exaggerating the positive effects, and completely ignoring the drawbacks and possible permanent pitfalls.

What, if not drugs, would you smoke in a bong? Tobacco? Lint? Elvis' pubes?

And yes, I know Tobacco is actually a drug too. And then there's crack and meth and salvia and so on...

Note, this is what Salvia is suppose to do. Short intense funny trip. If it doesn't do that, it doesn't suit you, don't try again. It's not wise to use it anyway, maybe once a month in this kind of perfect settings. But for a person that it suits this well, it's perfectly harmless.
