Malaria Parasite Invades Human Red Blood Cell

Imperial Senator Dick Durbin and his loyal media thugs

quantumushroom says...

The real focus here is the antics of "your" imperial senator. Since he's on "your" side, do ya think he doesn't have to answer questions or be accountable? You'd think he'd be better prepared to defend himself since he's a big mouth crap talker.

Sure, you can attack the journalist and suggest Reverend Moon is whispering in his ear, even though the man's identified himself as an independent social journalist at (an) event sponsored by (the) City Club of Chicago and open to media and the public.

As for the other thing, what else can the left do but flip the script and blame Republicans for the debt crisis? Saint Obama is infallible as long as you ignore the effects of his runaway spending. While the Right isn't innocent, this debt crisis is the baby of this clueless administration. Or did the Tea Party cause Greece, Portugal and Ireland's economic meltdowns?

Anyone who works for the Reverend Sun Myung Moon (publisher of the Washington Times who proclaimed himself the second coming of Jesus Christ) is immediately suspect.
I mean, you can see this reporter's not unstable at all. <- sarcasm.
Another stellar clip, Roomie. Thumbs up, buddy.

Rolemodel Cop Finds Gun, Remains Calm

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

You'll be hard pressed to find a guy more supportive of gun-rights than myself. However, Jeremy is an idiot. Walking around with a weapon openly displayed on a public easement is just poor gun ownership. Yes, you have the right to do it. However, with that right comes the responsibility to be a wise, cautious, courteous citizen. Openly carrying around a gun is not wise, cautious, or courteous.

When in a public area, keep the weapon concealed for both your own safety and the safety of others. There are plenty of holsters that can carry a weapon in a concealed manner. Use them. My favorite is the classic boot holster. I like Tony Llamas, and cowboy boots are plenty roomy to hold a small firearm. Takes all of 1 second to draw, and when it is in the holster it is completely undetectable. I'm armed, and I'm not freaking people out by publicly brandishing a weapon. Duh.

Nowadays with the advent of Ipads and other tablet computers, the "murse" is making a dreadful comeback. Women can keep a gun in a purse easily. Men - if you don't like cowboy boots then get a murse and keep the gun in there. It's just common sense guys.

Ah, the good old days! I was watching and listening to NBC's NBA theme song yesterday.

Ditto. That's when I became a Blazer fan. Roomie/bandmates/friends were all fans so it kind of rubbed off on me when we'd all get together at our place for the games.

In reply to this comment by ant:
Yeah, they totally did. I miss the old days Lakers versus Blazers in the early 1990s/90s.

In reply to this comment by Duckman33:
Sorry, I feel your pain. I'm a Trailblazer fan myself. I'm sure you are aware of the rivalry there. I usually don't talk smack about a team getting swept, but the way they (The Lakers) handled it was like a bunch of spoiled brats. Not very sporstman like or respectful to the other team IMO.

I am a fan. Yes, this season sucked.

Karl Pilkington on Satellite Navigation

GeeSussFreeK says...

I dunno about the brain development caused from doing 2 plus 2 all day. Expanding your mind isn't XP grinding. I do think that they both miss a good point on the road less travled that Karl was talking about. But living a life style of always fretting the little things is backwards, not progressive.

It reminds me of a talk I had with my roomie on what makes a good coder. A good coder is lazy. Meaning he doesn't want to waste his time doing trivial interactions with his machine to accomplish his goal. Trivial interactions do not expand the mind. But taking an alternate path not recommended to you by some program isn't so trivial as to be mocked.

So I was sitting here being some what silly and said, "Man, Chinese people can't drive". Then my roomy shouted out, "Hey, don't be racist...Asian people can't drive." Loling ensued

The problem is that in China, car ownership is a relatively new phenomenon due to the rapidly rising economy. Most people there are first time car owners. The licensing process itself is fairly lax, and traffic regulations are often times ignored. So yeah, they're basically a bunch of noobs.

Kevin Smith at his sarcastic best: Southwest Airlines Thin

>> ^Yogi:
I've seen people MUCH larger than Kevin Smith squeezing into 1 seat and they don't get hassled.

The fact that he NORMALLY gets 2 seats should indicate his actual girth. Remember, he isn't upset that he takes up 2 seats...he is mad that he was seated, then was told later there was only one seat for him not 2. In his tweets, he even comments on this, something to the effect that "Ya, I am the largest I have even been right now". The problem, once again, is that he has to get 2 seats. HIS problem is he sat down and had to stand up again...Hold on, Ill get my roomie to play some violin music.

I'd never realized how much stuff was being made by prison labor...that's quite a racket someone's running, isn't it?

They obviously don't manufacture THAT much in prison because I can't remember the last time I bought anything labeled as "Made in America."

Ed Griffin Defines Collectivism

Newsflash: civilization is collectivist.

You made the same word play that he discredits. Civilization is a group of cultures, which in turn are really just groups of individuals. A civilization could be, like america was for about 100 years, very individualistic. You're misusing the term, which is common in such talks on the interwebs. It would be like calling a single computer "the internet". While it may indeed be a part of the internet network...it is still just a single computer node.
Edit: In fact, the way the internet works might be a perfect analogy to what we have going on here with the word play. The internet is one of the finest examples of why systems of individuals is more a less a better system than one of collectivism...because both systems can exist in a system of individual rights. Look at the video sift. No one is forcing us to do anything thing here. We all chose to be here and contribute as much or as little as we see fit. And to get a little more personal, my household of roomies works more like a Communism. It is the systems within systems where individualism really shows its strength. People can willingly submit themselves to groups of their choosing at their own discretion, according to their own moral code. Only system of individual liberty can accommodate multiple moral codes. IE, only a system of individual rights can you be the most free you can be.

I did not misuse the term.

Civilization is a collectivist effort, albeit it has been perverted to the point where only the rich are allowed to benefit from the fruits of our labors.

You are the one playing with words.

The rich would not be rich if they had to do it all by themselves.

It is only our political system that allows them to get 90% of the pie that all of us are responsible for baking.

The bullshit award goes to the person who claims that collectivism negates individuality, just as the bullshit award would go to the person who claims that a single computer (individual) is "the internet" (a collection of individuals).
