Man Arrested & Punched for Sitting on Mom's Front Porch

ChaosEngine says...

@bareboards2 is right.

You do not have the right to resist arrest.

Even if the cops are 100% in the wrong (which they clearly are here), you can be charged, tried and convicted on this charge alone, regardless of the legality of the arrest.

As much as it fucking sucks, that is reality.

And @newtboy, "If you are black and armed and you get stopped, shoot first." are you serious? I must be reading this wrong, because what you are suggesting sounds insane.

Let's ignore that you are advocating killing a potentially innocent cop who might have stopped you for a perfectly legitimate reason. We can also ignore the fact that regardless of whether you have committed a crime, if you shoot at a cop the BEST possible outcome is that you do serious jail time.

Even ignoring all that, do you really want to give ammunition to the kind of people who say shit like "blue lives matter"?

Also ... Mom, answer your goddamn phone in future and give your son a fucking house key!

You actively admit supporting terrorist organisations? Why stop at Hamas then, you can’t have double standards now can you. Here I’ll help you:

"There are no terrorist targets in Iraq. Occupied people have a right to resist, both ethically and under international law. Al-Qaida rocket fire/suicide bombings isn't terrorism, it isn't war, but a ghetto uprising; just as doomed and just as noble."

Do you think it’s noble to fire rockets out of hospitals hiding behind defenceless civilians?

The whole world expect Russia,Turkey and China sees Hamas as a terrorist organisation, maybe you should consider moving from the UK gorilla warfare man.

1) "The Democratic Party in Europe would be a far-right party".

I don't think it would be. A decade ago, yes. But not today.

Look at what Blair (Labour) and Schröder (SPD) did to the left-of-center parties in their respective countries: they moved to the right, significantly. And by doing so, the entire political sphere was pushed to the right. Tory and CDU, the former right-of-center parties are not that different from the Democratic Party, nowadays at least.

The French are still holding on to the alignment of their political system. However, the austerity enforced by conservative moralists, mainly the troika of IMF/ECB/EU Commision as well as the German establishment, is putting immense pressure on Hollande to "encourage" a political shift to the right.

2) Resistance from within the political system.

We have two of these parties in this country, parties that, to some degree, oppose the establishment in areas of significance. They manage to mitigate some of the damage the establishment tries to inflict upon society, but if we're honest about it, most of it is only postponed by a comparatively short period of time. One might even argue that it's just for show so that the illusion of choice is kept up...

In any case, they cannot create the level of fear neccessary to keep the other parties in check. For that to change, the ownership structure in traditional media would have to be changed, radically. As of now, the marginalisation of anti-establishment forces is working effectively and any attempts at meaningful change are demonised.

3) A recently published document by JP Morgan illustrates just how openly their efforts against democratic societies are being waged these days:

Political systems around the [European] periphery typically display several of the following features: weak executives; weak central states relative to regions; constitutional protection of labour rights; consensus building systems which foster political clientalism; and the right to protest if unwelcome changes are made to the political status quo.

The shortcomings of this political legacy have been revealed by the crisis.

In other words: these pinko Commie bastards and their anti-fascist constitutions are getting in the way of business, their excess of democracy needs to be trimmed.

Seattle officer punches girl in face during jaywalking stop

There seems to be two main forms of analysis going on here. One is seeing a cop justified in a use of force because she is 'resisting arrest' and there is an 'angry mob' around him. The other claims this was unjustified and that the cop is a pig.

Lets think about what constitutes resisiting arrest. Why is that automatically a bad thing? For what reason should human beings willfully accept an arrest when they don't find it justifiable? Why should we willingly accept a white male's handcuff and perspective of 'the law'? This officer is operating on an understanding of how society should operate and what his place in is when he decides to arrest this woman. This understanding is inherently hierarchical and oppressive. Think about the power relationship here, or between cops and society in general. There is little to no repercussion for these fuckers. Only recently with the advent of video technology can we show what these scumbags do all the time. Human beings have a right to resist the State. No reason at all why we should have to bend over for this class traitor.

That 'angry mob' idea. I wonder if it was a group of white people asking the officer to stop, what you categorize them as an angry mob? These people, if angry, have a right to be angry: a cop is repressing two woman, one of which was hit in the face. There is no reason why humans can't resist when they feel it necessary to do so. Your claim of an 'angry mob' reveals alot of racism. Guarantee that if it were white folks, you would call them 'patriots' or 'concerned citizens'.

I'm in favor of the second analysis. This is a pig, those are human beings resisting the state. Revolt is what makes us human

context from a guy who was there:
young man gets stopped for jaywalking. Cop wants to arrest him and the girls get angry and start yelling. Cop grabs smaller girl and twists her arm behind her back to the point of pain. Bigger girl tries to separate them and gets punched in the face. Even if you just saw the video it looked to me like a man being rough with a much smaller person. The bigger woman tries to separate them and gets punched. take the word cop out of the situation and the man should be the one in trouble for assault. as far as the law stands the cop is just dumb as he will cost society millions if the girl gets a felony when there was no need for anything more than a simple verbal warning for safety's sake. I hope we will see more people resisting being arrested for nothing but resisting arrest. System needs to give people the right to resist a wrongful arrest so we can stop that bit of legal catch-22. Tons of people get arrested for resisting arrest without any other charges

You really don't understand how the justice system works do you? If you are being arrested for something you did not do that does not give you the right to resist arrest and it doesn't mean your "guilty till proven innocent". Is that what you believe? If your innocent you should resist arrest?>> ^ToKeyMonsTeR:

Yea guilty till proven innocent.

No links to the Left-Wing Murder Spree Rampage? The Leftist Plot to Assassinate Key Figures in the Republican Party (Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Palin)?

Oh right, because those things don't exist. There are no liberal pundits calling for democrats to put down the right-wing resistance. No leftist militias filming recruiting and training videos in the woods of the midwest.

>>Geeze, MG. She's using matched linear forces to provide a rotational spin, and the escalator gadget is being used emmergently. I'm slapping those channels back on, and if the science channel guy wants to eject it, let him. But as the engineering channel guidance counselor, THAT one stays!

By that standard we could mark probably every video on the sift as science and/or engineering. Show me a video that doesn't feature gravitational forces in action. Show me a video that doesn't feature a lever, wheel & axle, or an inclined plane somewhere.
Science is usually rigorously enforced, thankfully. A number of the other channels are becoming catch-alls or the channel owner's favorites list. The frickin woohoo channel even says "anything else that we find suitable.." right in its description.

DAMN RIGHT!

[Krupo resists urge to tag this video in the woohoo channel... reasoning: she succeeds]

The other rationale for not getting a woohoo tag, in general, is when the video features ENEMIES of Matt Groening (it being the MG & Friends Appreciation Society).

Don't be bitter SG, we're upvoting this one more because she's successful at it.
