New Rift Eruption On Reykjanes Peninsula Iceland

newtboy says...

Amazing at around 11:40

I hope everyone got a chance to bathe at Blue Lagoon, the amazing public hot springs facility outside Reykjavik…it’s right in this area and could be seriously damaged.

Thom Hartmann Reports from Iceland(Banksters Owned Govermnt)

Skeeve says...

Iceland is a fascinating country populated by equally fascinating people.

Of the "western" world, they have the highest proportion of people who accept evolution, but at the same time they have a significant portion of the population that wont dismiss the existence of elves.

Politically, they had a joke party, called The Best Party win the Reykjavik city council elections on a platform of, among other things, being opening corrupt (as opposed to secretly corrupt).

Quite an amazing place

No all I know of our friends to the North is Montréal. I'm looking forward to seeing the country off the port side for a couple of weeks. I'm fascinated by the further reaches of the continents. Probably picked some of that fascination up from you.

I'm battling a nasty cold at the moment, but otherwise I'm doing great. I head back to the great white north in April which is fast approaching! I'm definitely going to miss Denmark, but I know I'll be back eventually. I'm already bracing myself for the inevitable culture shock I'm going to go through when I return.

Nova Scotia, huh? Sounds like it'll be a great trip. You been before? The maritimes are beautiful in the summer. I went to Lunenburg a few years back and had a fantastic time. Halifax is a great city too - had lots of fun there.

Good, good! And yourself? When are you coming back to North America, Jesse? I'm sailing from Connecticut up to Nova Scotia in June, I can't wait.

Glad to hear it. It is a cinematic gem. How ya been, Schmawy, my man?

My New Year kicked off with one hell of a lot of firecrackers and some good old fashioned drunken debauchery, so I can't complain too much.. I'm struggling to get back into the swing of things at work and it's pretty crazy to think that my time in Denmark is already coming to a close pretty soon. Time sure has a knack for going by way too fast when you're enjoying yourself. 2010 is supposedly the Year of the Inuit in Canada. I haven't seen much evidence to show that this will actually mean anything, but I'm trying to be optimistic!

Thanks, Jesse, it's been good so far. It's been a mix of arduous toil and reckless creative and amorous pursuit. I've reestablished NefFlix's faith in my finances and am padding out my queue with JesseoftheNorth fare. So far I've added 101 Reykjavik but need to go back and find some of the others you've posted. Thanks for the tips!
How's the Scandinavian New Year treating you?

Here's what I've added to Netflix...

101 Reykjavik
The Story of the Weeping Camel
The Day After Trinity
Encounters at the End of the World
Cranes Are Flying

I was going to do War and Peace but I don't think I have the eight hours to spare.

Thanks again.

Jesse, I plan on trying to rent Reykjavik 101, I love the idea of an Icelandic slacker film. Tell me, have you ever seen Nói albínói?

No, I haven't seen that movie, but it does look good. I'll have to look out for it. I loved Reykjavik 101. Scandi films have a unique feel to them, I find. Reykjavik 101 is a good example that not all Scandinavian films have to be dark and brooding. I'd also suggest I am Curious (yellow and blue) from Sweden.

Iceland might go 'bankrupt'
