If Road and Track did the test and you posted it, it would be all good.

When Elon in private creates this video to show fanboys (notice no audience at the test track), it’s blatantly obvious he has not just his thumb, but his entire body weight on the scales. He’s been caught faking it time and time and time again, then failing to live up in real life with no apologies when his customers complain he didn’t provide what he promised for the exorbitant fees he charges.

Again, just look and listen…Tesla in launch mode, chirping but not spinning the tires…old unspecified Porsche at <1000rpm taking off soft, no noise at all, no tire spin, never a high rev, the 911 is not trying to win. Hardly a real test. No audience, no clock, no speed, where are the track numbers for the test (he lists the factory claims for an empty truck at the end, not actual test numbers, not the track results for this race).

I upvoted and promoted your bumper car video. It has nothing to do with you posting it, dummy, that only raises suspicions that it’s dishonest. It’s horrible because it’s clearly being dishonest to over hype and sell a questionable product….it’s a commercial….a bad dishonest commercial.

I had some friends into exotic cars and we'd take 84 over to the coast now and again, mostly because we had a shit-ton of money and a shit-ton of spare time to kill -- the Dot-Com fucking rocked!

There's a bend in the road just outside La Honda on the coastal side that's a 15mph hairpin with a tree at the apex. It's a lovely goddamn thing, especially when you forget it's there. So here we all come, lane-trading and exercising general assholery in cars that cost what a nice single-family home does.

Oh FUCK, the turn!!

My friend in the 911 does this beautiful trail-brake and swings through the curve. Elise follows suit, complete with smoking tires. Next up is Countach. He BARELY holds it together, but gets through without any real drama.

Now it's my turn.

Did I mention I was driving a '97 Camaro Z-28? Yeah, Camaros of that year are good at exactly one thing: driving very fast in very straight lines. Corners? Yeah, not so much. I realize I'm in trouble and I'm coming into the turn WAY too fast. I grab the shifter and get ready. My plan is that I'm going to slam it into first, let the rev limiter do its thing to save the engine, pull the e-brake and swing the tail, then punch it and swing the ass-end around and launch out of the curve with smoking Z-rated tires and all!

And HERE WE GO -- grab the shifter, yank it all the way down and...

That's when California emissions standards fucked me.

You see, when you buy a Camaro Z-28 in California, you don't actually get first gear. You get what's called a California First, which is actually SECOND gear, because if you were actually able to use FIRST gear, the goddamn car would belch enough emissions to make a farting Brontosaurus blush. And second gear ain't exactly gonna work for my little plan.

tl;dr is that I hit the no-lock brakes hard enough to get my speed down and was able to bring the ass around with the little e-brake trick. I wasn't out of the woods because I over-corrected on the way out and spun. The same God that I spite and don't believe in actually saved my ass and I didn't end up going off the road. Apparently, he loves fools and Z-28 Camaros.

I honestly had more fun in that car than the law allows: sometimes literally, like when I got clocked at 110 coming onto the straight at King City. Good times, man, good times.

Should've taken 84 home, less time driving in the stink and you could've gotten great BBQ in La Honda. ;-)

Pause at 0:13 where the bumper of the car is straight over his head.

The shadow of his head clearly goes slightly to the left of the screen, whereas the shadow of the trees is clearly going to the right.

Also, there is no chance his slightly raised voice saying "rally" at the end is the same volume as a rally car at full revs only a few meters away.

I'm Canadian so maybe that's only a problem here from my country. We have complaints and confrontations against churches for not hiring or rejecting a hire based on sexual practices, or even in one case for being an atheist. We also have a 'women's only' nude spa facing human rights complaints for keeping out people with penises because they are women too.

It is happening, and more importantly, whether the laws are all there already or not, the fact a complaint likely would travel to the supreme court at least is certainly a pretty legitimate concern about where that line is being drawn.

And hey, maybe the Dems don't want to try and find common ground with that particular demographic. The fact is though that there are plenty of anti-nazi people in that demographic and many others that the Democrats have currently cast as 'enemy' thinkers. The Dems need to pick some things they are willing to compromise on that will help them reach out to voters that didn't show up for Hillary.

I don't think he knew the prop was off until he got out and looked. You can hear him trying to rev the engine a couple of times post prop loss. Great skills on this landing, now its time for some to get some drinks!

Yeah, when they drove it out at the end and gassed it I was expect the revs to pick up faster. Sounds nice though.

Nah, that definitely looks like a throttle stick. Plants the foot at the lights and it stays planted. He smashes over the island and then continues to try and rev it out? I don't think so. Even after he loses the tire (0.29), the car continues to try and accelerate even though he has the brakes on hard (the smoke from the right back tire wasn't from spinning on the pavement, looked like the brake burning off).

And who thought this thing was a freaking 944 (which is still my favourite Porsche)?

I think everyone kind of has the right idea. The honda doesn't start making it's power until about 8,000 rpm. (My S1000RR feels asleep until 6000) You have to be riding like you stole it, and it takes more than the 2 seconds that the race lasted to get up to those revs. The honda rider seemed rather timid / inexperienced, and hildo really seemed to know his stuff. Also, those big v-twins make loads of power off the line.

Note, there is a significant weight advantage on that steam tractor. But you just can't deny the sheer power of steam engine, the torque that it outputs at low revs, 0-1RPM is just massive where as combustion engine has really none..

Not exactly.. It is limited by time and amount of energy. There is no "push to pass" button but they have some leeway on how to spread the extra energy around the lap. You can use it more on one corner but for the rest of the lap, you're total power output is reduced.

First race is now over, RBR got disqualified due to too much fuel was being fed to the engine... Also the dreaded "they will save fuel" phase was over in 10 laps. There were lots of technical DNFs, 14 cars made it to the finishline, which was miles better than worst fears. Some of the cars made their first race distance. But the main change was..

Almost unlimited torque at the low revs.. The cars were sliding, they were skittish, there were 3rd gear opposite locks.. They are once again more powerful than the grip what tires and aero can produce. Turns like T2 and T5 in Albert Park used to be "non-corners", they just pointed the nose to apex and floor it.. Now.. totally different thing. Even T9 exit was dangerous, which it hasn't been since 1999.

Eau Rouge will not be a flat out, easy corner but terrifying rollercoaster that eats lives if you don't respect it..

Only thing we lost is the sound, the new V6 uses energy so much efficiently that sound is not as loud.. On the plus side, you can hear the tires squeeling and the audience cheering. It's not V10 screech but low throaty roar.
