Waking up the Wife

Payback says...

Ostensibly, he ended up making this video so he could remember his RC truck.

Noticed how the video stopped just when we were going to get a reaction?

I think it tells you what reaction she gave

RC Dogfighting/Jousting

Answer: you spend a -lot- of time repairing your models.

The longer answer: This kind of ribbon-cutting is virtually impossible. At many of our RC competitions, we used to try to cut a ribbon trailed by a balloon (so not even trying to dodge). Over the course of several years, I believe I saw a single successful cut.

Terrifying RC Helicopter Breaks Reality

Jerykk says...

Impressive skills but doing this right next to a road seems really stupid. If you're doing RC stunts, do it in your backyard or an empty field or park or somewhere where a mistake a less likely to a cause a car accident.

I was going to call 'fake' but his instagram is full of videos like this.

I had no idea that the laws of physics had no grasp on RC choppers.

So...I see people are selling their soul for super natural rc helicopter skills. I'm pretty sure he just broke a few laws of physics.

Ahoy's Iconic Arms S3E6: P90.

MilkmanDan says...

The first time I remember learning anything about a (fictionalized) version of this weapon was in Goldeneye for N64. But I remembered it (known as the RC-P90) having an 80 round capacity in that game.

That didn't set off any alarms for me, but an interesting note was made here:
The FN P90 only holds 50 rounds in its magazine. It is speculated that the RC-P90's 80 magazine is actually a mistake due to directly giving the RC-P90 0x50 (that is, 80 in hexadecimal) bullets rather than 0x32 (50 in decimal).

Kind of a funny quirk for a CS nerd like me. Get your hex right, programmers!

F-35 Lightning II: Busting Myths

newtboy says...

OK, so this is supposed to be convincing us that the plane works?...but they do admit that it can take numerous seconds between rudder input and response by the plane....my RC glider is more responsive than that.

<10% delivery, and only one variant = fail.
Most expensive plane ever=fail.
Past it's expected lifespan before it's deployed=fail.
'The same technology, but a little bit more advanced' is hardly worth the country bankrupting cost=fail

It sure seems like they're admitting that a minor systems upgrade to an F-22 would have ended up with a much better plane with the same tech for <1/10 the cost and time.
This plane seems designed to fight directly against technologically advanced adversaries....which means Russia and/or China. We are NEVER going to be in direct air to air combat with either of those nations. We avoid that like the plague, because it's all too easy to escalate to nuclear war. The enemies we are actually likely to engage don't have 1/10 the technological capabilities needed to take on an F-22.
The entire reason for this plane to exist at all is a fraud.
