A Republican strategist was sentenced Friday to 18 months in prison for his role in helping funnel illegal foreign campaign contributions from a Russian national into former President Trump's 2016 campaign, per the Department of Justice.

Jessie Benton, a former senior aide to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), orchestrated a scheme to conceal the illegal foreign donation with another GOP political advisor.

Benton, 45, was convicted in November of conspiring to solicit and cause an illegal campaign contribution by a foreign national, effecting a conduit contribution, and causing false records to be filed with the Federal Election Commission, per the DOJ.
Benton arranged for the Russian national to attend a political campaign fundraising event and take a photo with Trump, federal prosecutors said.

The Russian national wired $100,000 to Benton's political consulting firm to make an illegal foreign contribution. But Benton allegedly pocketed $75,000 and gave $25,000 to the campaign, falsely identifying himself as the donor.
The campaign unknowingly filed reports with the FEC that inaccurately reported Benton as the source of the funds instead of the Russian national, per the Justice Department.

ALSO…Trump is also under investigation by Jack Smith for the biggest campaign finance fraud in history, possibly the biggest money laundering scheme in U.S. history, $800 million laundered through his lackey’s (and his own) fake LLCs created for the sole purpose of taking in money from Trump’s campaign. these companies provided nothing for the money besides kickbacks to Trump. Trump pardoned him for helping funnel $100000 through Paul’s campaign into state legislature campaigns.
Also caught in a sting where the Telegraph asked him for help hiding and funneling Chinese money ($1-2 million) into American campaigns and he did.
Also laundered money from Russians through personal accounts directly to Trump, Russians who met and hung out with Trump because of their contributions, so Trump knew.

Why the fuck doesn’t the chairman censure Rand for lying and ignoring her orders to stop interrupting answers and speaking after his time was expired? He should have been fined after his second interruption, removed and fined after the third, and held by the sergeant at arms for at least 24 hours or until he apologizes to the chair and fellow members, whichever is longer, after the fourth and fifth.

How did he ever pass medical school? It seems an impossibility considering his ignorance of basic medicine and lack of civility and decorum. Somebody investigate this, I bet he bought a medical license, he couldn’t earn one. Records show he never completed a bachelor degree before starting medical school, despite claiming he did, and that during the rigorous and overwhelming schedule of medical school he was working full time on his daddies campaign, traveling nationwide with his father throughout the campaign. He is definitely not smart enough to have passed medical school in his spare time, how did he get his degree? Not through merit, that’s a certainty.
