Oh fuck!
Reports say Don Hankey said Trump and his lawyers lied to the judge about not being able to get a full bond, because a billionaire donor and the guy who put up the bond, Don Hankey himself, offered to put up the entire amount using real estate as collateral, but Trumps team hid that from the judge.

Instead they claimed it was a “practical impossibility” to get a full bond, which was a bold faced lie, and the bond was reduced by 2/3, which Hankey provided (but his bond may be deficient as a bond in New York, not meeting the minimum requirements for such a bond and not being licensed to issue bonds in the state).

If proven, his lawyers are going to be disbarred and his bond revoked. 😂

Bonus - Nice…the AZ Supreme Court just re-enacted an 1864 law banning all abortion in the state and criminalizing aiding an abortion with a mandatory 2-5 year sentence. Abortion rights were already on that ballot, nearly guaranteeing democratic wins state wide…this new rights grab goes even farther towards that end.
Republicans have lost every ballot that had abortion rights included.

Notre Dame Faculty Pens Open Letter To Delay Hearings

The ACA was passed on party lines, it was going to be screwed up because of that no matter what. What pisses me off about it is that instead of trying to come up with a better solution, the Democrats rammed that fucker through. I can only assume it is because for a brief period they had control of the legislative and executive branches all at the same time. So rather than take a chance to fix it, they figured if they were going to get anything they might as well get it in place.

Obama inherited the situation in the ME. Bush fucked up royally. Obama just took a bad situation and made it worse. Admittedly, there were other fingers in the pie also, but he is still culpable.

The rules for the drone war were decided by Obama's administration. Regardless of what Bush did before, that lays 100% on Obama and his team. Some good articles to read:

Remember, the ACA was barely passed and had to be watered down so red state democrats would vote for it, then the states had the option to opt in or out of federal assistance. Those that opted out all had terrible experiences with higher insurance costs, states that opted in had relatively stable costs and millions insured, lowering medical costs across the board (because they didn't have to eat 30% of bills and pass the cost to the rest of their patients). Should have been universal single payer. (Side note, my insurance went up 5-10% before Trump, and more than doubled under Trump. I've had the same policy since 08.)

Funny, the people I recall claiming Daesh was a nothing burger were all Republicans, Democrats were pushing to take them on immediately when they emerged in northern Iraq. You do remember who took us into Iraq with no plan to leave, right? Not Obama.
Wasn't it Bush who decided the rules for war in Iraq, like everyone's a combatant? Obama failed to fix them and that's why he lost my second vote, not doing enough...granted he had a pure obstructionist Senate so was stimied, but I expected more.

I feel like people's political memories only go back through Obama now, and that's just dumb. Our history is much longer, our memories should be too.

FOURTEEN to ONE bob... I'm really curious is this what 'draining the swamp' looks like.

FOUR times what Obama had (He Had WAY to many) in half the time....

Drain the swamp? Do you REALLY believe that? I get it, its really hard to admit you got played, but is there any level of corruption that is just to far? Or is it all, always fake news, hoaxes, witch-hunts, etc...

Numbers don't tell the whole story, do they? Were all of those deaths ruled as unjustified?

According to an article at propublica, as many as 440,000 deaths per year are attributed to poor medical care in hospitals. So what are you doing to do, take all the doctor's scalpels away?

This video shows a cop trying to find marijuana, which is still illegal in most states. What this video doesn't show is the amount of stolen property that is recovered by the same technique, which is bluffing. But of course, people who commit burglaries and thefts don't videotape the encounters they have with police officers.

Today, more and more people are learning their rights and exercising them, and fewer busts are made through bluffing. But the police will adjust to it.

When I worked the road, I didn't give a crap about speeders, so didn't run radar or laser, and I didn't really care about marijuana because alcohol is far more dangerous to people, but I did bust a couple of bikers from a biker gang trying to sell a grocery bag full of marijuana. They also had a 9mm, which would have been used to a criminal manner, I'm sure. By the way, they got off of the marijuana charge because the judge said I didn't have enough probably cause to make the stop, even though I knew through observation that they were up to something highly suspicious.
how'd you like to buy your grass from a biker with a semi-auto on him?

I know, when I was buying grass in my college days, I didn't buy it from bikers, but a lot of people do.

You were warned.

But Americans would rather watch Fox News and be afraid of terrorists than curtail the rampant abuses perpetrated by police every day.

Number of people killed by Police in the US since 9/11 = 5,000, over 350 per year

Number of American civilians killed worldwide from Terrorist attacks in 2011 = 17

Yeah, give the cops more power and bigger guns.

The video you need to watch about SOPA

Morganth says...

This is a list of all the US Senators and their stance concerning PIPA. Currently, there are 38 in support, 19 opposed, 7 leaning toward no, and 36 undecided. If you click a senator's name you can see their information, including the phone number of their office that you can call and voice your opinion. These offices WILL have someone answering the phones so I called both of my senators to tell them to vote no and was done in less than one minute.

TDS: These F@#king Guys - Goldman Sachs

I hope the media will listen to Jon Stewart and stop doing these stupid analogies. The financial melt-down is complicated and you can't make it simple by talking about used cars or poisoned sandwiches. If you want to know more (without having to be an econ major, yet without being talked down to) go here: http://www.propublica.org/feature/all-the-magnetar-trade-how-one-hedge-fund-helped-keep-the-housing-bubble
or listen to the highlights of the story on "This American Life:" http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/405/inside-job

I can't believe Jon Stewart didn't take the opportunity to make fun of the name "Magnetar!"
