Freya's First Recital and Small Fight

Freya's First Recital and Small Fight

I'll Be Right Here

I saw this when it came out with four fellow navy buddies. We were all about 21. When this scene finally appeared, I was discretely trying to dab my eyes cuz, dammit, there was dust or something in the air. I glanced over at my buds and they were all subtly wiping their eyes too.
God I hope that Hollywood never decides that this movie needs a prequel, sequel, re-make or a 're-imagining'.

Oh, but there IS a sequel! http://videosift.com/video/ET-has-a-sequel-ET-X-Extinction

WTF Kinect Star Wars - Galactic dance off

1) The nerd is enjoying himself. What's the harm?

2) Lucas should've been made a dancing character.

3) Notice the spokesweenie didn't say "worse thing since THE PREQUELS", perhaps cause they're being run again in 3-D.

Total Recall (2012) - full trailer

Funny how these remakes/sequels/prequels/reboots/reimagainings do kind of give you a SENSE of having watched a classic but without any of the emotion or gravitas that made it remembered in the first place. A 23 year old girl told me she liked Singer's Star Trek 'because it wasn't like sci-fi'. I passed a bunch of middle aged women a while back and caught the words "..doctor manhattan.."

Modern marketing is reshaping, monetizing and pushing EVERYTHING that was interesting, exciting and cult, into a sort of vanilla paste to be squeezed into the minds of people who have less and less ideas about life but who vaguely know that these titles are remembered for decades for some reason.. it seems some extended cartoony dance-fight for the boys and some saccharine melodramatic romance for the girls is all you need to get in there.

The world is run by inheritees.
They can't be expected to know how great things were done by their forebears.
They do however own the show and are forced by their own need for self respect to believe they are entitled to make creative decisions WAY beyond them.

What are they going to do? Imitate and resell the past till its worth nothing. Anyone want to take this bet: spiderman reboot reboot reboot by 2020, Lawrence of Arabia with Robert pattinson by 2015, and on and on until we all kill ourselves.
As long as they do Krull with Samuel Jackson I'll go quietly.

"The Thing" In Two & A Half Minutes.

the prequel is fucking awesome btw, perfectly sets this one up

The prequel was better than I expected, but far from awesome in my opinion. Yeah, the very end bit set up the proper movie well and I'll admit, the way they set up the dead creature they found was cool, but overall it pales in comparison to Carpenter's The Thing, especially in suspense and atmosphere

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (Prequel Trailer)

Talk abouty a shitty trailer !
Somebody thought editing meant splicing random .5 sec shots together one after the other.
Too bad.

You're right, but I still want to see the show based solely on the previous Battlestar Galactica series.
I actually watched, and sort of enjoyed Caprica- must have been the only one though. I feel that show was cancelled before it got its feet under it. Hopefully this new show will be the one that science fiction fans have been waiting for.

You're not alone in liking Caprica, I thought it was pretty darn good

I also think this one looks awesome too, despite the crappy epileptic trailer.

@Porksandwich I was really disappointed when they cancelled SGU, I was really in to it.

My prediction:
This will be unoriginal, tired shit.
It just looks like it's going to tread the same path as many before it.
Also, if you can't be bothered to bring out a trailer with music different to a trailer that JUST CAME OUT mere months ago, then sorry, but that smacks of laziness all around.

I think you are right, unless they can find some other, different story they can tell about the cylons that makes them scary again, and not whiney, vagina robots. My vote would be a splinter of cylons that manage to get off the planet before getting boxed. These cylons are crazy fanatic about organic life in general, they want to see the eradication of every non-cylon based lifeform, a world of chrome and steal! These relentless, inorganic pursuers stop at nothing to not only destroy human existence, but all existence as we know it. It is the only interesting story you can tell after trying to wipe out humanity, trying to wipe out all existence. Start it off with, instead of the decimation of our home world like the new ones, start with its eradication...deathstar. That could actually be your main plot device for the first couple of seasons, trying to kill the planet smasher.

Anyway, it think way to much about battlestar and how I would make the newish ones better (after season 3, I pretend they don't exist), as well as what I would do for a spinnoff in the same universe. I ended up with a show that would feel more like Stargate Atlantis (humans going around trying to stop cylons from blowing up alien worlds) than what we know as battlestar today, but I think you could make it interesting.
