Crazy Guy Runs Into Outback Tornado To Take Selfie

artician says...

Also, two things:

*related= http://videosift.com/video/Dust-Devil-Filmed-in-Japan

(FUCK YOU SIFTBOT. Someday I'll spend all my powerpoints to hire an assassin and end your reign of terror).

Secondly, I think it's funny that videosift has a spoiler function, but it's totally not applicable for email updates.

The willy willy looks just like that recent one from a garden in Japan. I'll add it as a related tag later if I can find it.

I must shamedfacedly admit I had no idea I couldn't promote someone else's very cool video. Thank you for the gentle tutorial!
I thought siftbot was knocking me down because my "powerpoints" needed recharging--now, I am enlightened.

Thank you!

I assume you are well aware that you can't invoke *promote for another sifters video although I've seen you do this quite a bit. I assume you have seen the response by siftbot to your invocation.

I also assume you are doing this to show support for the videos(which is great) but I find it odd that you don't vote for these videos. A much better way to show you like the video imo.
Anyway the only reason i bring it up is it seems to me to be clutter in a comment thread as siftbot will always respond to your invocation which you can't invocate anyway. If you really feel the need to use promote in the comment thread you dont need to use the asterisk that will invoke a response from siftbot or you can first say promote then after you submit the comment, edit the comment and add the asterisk. This way you will not get siftbot to respond.
Just my two cents and thanks for all your contributions to the sift they are appreciated.

Powerpoints with Expiration Date? (Money Talk Post)

gorgonheap says...

I use my powerpoints to suppress, humiliate, and dehumanize people. Why would I want an expiration date on that? Seriously it's like the only bastion of power I have left in my life, and now you want them to expire? I am using my powepoints to *obliterate your freedom to express views contrary to my own!

Powerpoints with Expiration Date? (Money Talk Post)

Lann says...

I don't come here very often these days so I'm with @lullaby_lune on this one. Also, I don't like the idea of sifters clamoring to use their powerpoints up before they expire. That will probably lead the promoting less quality stuff.

I don't get that many powerpoints and when I do get them, I like to use them for things I really want to promote and quality.

Well, I don't know exactly what or how I would like to change about the powerpoints, but I do think we could do with some more things you can use them for. *quality ideas! *promote

Microsoft Makes Fun of Apple

braindonut says...

That article nailed it.

Tablets aren't about getting classic "office work" done. For powerpoint, spreadsheets and documents, you're always better off with a laptop. (Which is what the surface really is - it's more laptop than tablet)

The really clever "work" being done with tablets is in enabling people to do things they never could have done with a typical computer or laptop...

There's a very, VERY vocal minority who is going to buy the Microsoft tablets. Which is fine... But I'll keep my iPad, thanks.
