Largest Iceberg Breakup Ever Filmed - 7.4 km³!
Yeah, that was incredible, in the most literal sense of "hard to believe".
For a second I though it was gonna be a viral for Pacific Rim
wtf was that at 2:00? A giant monster?
Del Toro casts Portal's Glados in "Pacific Rim" (Trailer)
Why don't the monsters just use the portal to steal our oceans? Game over.
Del Toro casts Portal's Glados in "Pacific Rim" (Trailer)
I normally love science fiction and shit like this, but this just looks stupid to me. It looks like a super-sized "The Mist". I hope I'm wrong, but... "a portal between dimensions in the Pacific Ocean". Give me a break.
Del Toro casts Portal's Glados in "Pacific Rim" (Trailer)
Del Toro announced this back in October. Ellen McLain who does the voice work for GlaDOS would be doing the AI for his movie. They even put her voice through the same process that they did for portal.

The presence of GlaDOS in this is kinda cool, but also incredibly distracting. I wonder if they'll keep that for the final film.

New Extreme Sport: Trampoline Wall. Christophe Hamel Demo
I bet this guy is good at the Portal:Prelude mod.
StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson - Science of Video Games
Neil should play Portal.
Personally what interests me about the future of videogames is the prospect of more advanced AI. Seems that the goal of games for a while has been life like graphics and proper physics. We're getting pretty close there, but it still leaves us with a rather empty virtual world. I'd be much more interested in creating a virtual ecosystem complete with all forms of life, both simple and complex that are all able be autonomous. The rise of parallel processing/multiple cores might make this sort of thing a reality, as well as more realistic AIs. Hell, maybe the technological singularity will emerge from game development...
HURRICANE TABLE
Too bad it has that weird hairdrying sound coming from the portal to another (noisy) dimension.
When Gordon Met Chell
You can't destroy things with a portal gun (2:13); objects leave portals at the same angle they enter, so the monster's final shot (4:00) would have come out the blue portal either almost straight up in the air or dangerously close to Gordon and Chell; and portals shot onto horizontal surfaces always point towards the shooter, but Chell's last one points 90° to the wall rather than towards her.
These are important concepts to learn in the game, so this doesn't fit.>> ^ant:

Fun, but they got the properties of the portal gun wrong. Dunno about HL2.

But god DAMN that was a nice Half-Life reference with the crowbar and pickup sound!
Sheesh. A few too many imho. Portal cube, headcrab in the jar, lambda symbols all over the place. Talk about subliminal advertising. It's not like Valve needs any........more.......awesome games! Valve is the best developer ever! I love this video! I'm gonna go load up Half-Life 2.
Have you had a look at the Black Mesa overhaul of Half-Life 1?
Oh, and I think I spy a Portal turret and possibly a picture on the wall with Gordon.
Oh yes. They did a lot of good things in that mod; and some bad. Ladders, for one. There's also another team working on recreating Opposing Force for Source.
