Isaraeli War Crimes Class of 2009

Come to Australia. We've got more god-forsaken desert than you can beat a war drum at. You guys could bulldoze shit and build fuck off walls that would make the Chinese blush to your hearts content.

Australia will let 7-8 million immigrants in?

>> ^alizarin:
How does "stop committing war crimes" lead to "I have to move"? Just stop committing war crimes.

Aside from the white phosphorous, which is illegal and over which there was a big debate and investigation here recently, everything else in this "creepy music" video is just war. Funny how no one is bothered by rockets being placed inside a UN facility, but later are horrified at it becoming a military target.

>> ^Asmo:
Are you a war criminal? If so, move directly to jail or hell, your choice.
If you aren't, how about standing up against Israelis who are? Then mebbe one day there will be a lasting peace between the Israelis and the former owners of the country you now occupy.

Lovely optimism. Nice cut-and-dry war-criminal/innocent terminology there too. I've been hearing about lasting peace ever since I was old enough to understand that some people will blow themselves up for the opportunity to kill me. I would also love to hear about American plans to restore the rights of the former owners of the currently-occupied United States, aka the Native Americans.

--------------------------------------

What most people don't seem to grasp, is that there's no one to make peace with at the moment. Fatah controls the west bank mostly, and Hamas controls Gaza. Those two organizations are currently AT WAR with each other. Neither group can be said to be in power over a clear majority of the Palestinian population, and Hamas has made it clear that it will never accept any agreement Fatah makes with Israel.

I want peace. Every Israeli you ask will tell you the same thing. But I want to live, also. I want to be safe. And at the moment, I can't feel safe if I know there's a chance my bus could explode or that a random rocket might land on my roof.

Imagine for a moment that Iraq wasn't on the other side of the world, but rather, shared a border with the US. Let's say in the south. Instead of Mexico.
Now imagine suicide bombers were crossing into Texas on a daily basis, and some terrorist group was firing rockets from Tijuana on San Diego at a rate of 10-15 rockets a day. What would you want your government to do?

Actor/Playwright Wallace Shawn on Israel/Palestine Conflict

>> ^Winstonfield_Pennypacker: The real problem is the fact that Isreal is making a VERY simple request. "Accept Isreal as a Jewish State".

Did you even watch the video? Both sides need to expand their perspectives, both sides need to take responsiblity and both sides need to be willing to take steps to fix the situation.

Oh yeah, and the people with nukes, attack choppers, artillery, tanks and white phosphorous should probably stop taking cheap shots at the people bottled up in the worlds largest concentration camp with nothing more than assault rifles and the occasional RPG. It's like watching Mike Tyson beat up a kid in a wheelchair.

The red and green laser-like effects for projectiles kind of subtract from the realism, no?
Audio is very nice - graphics not so much, though.

You've never seen green tracers, before? The US and NATO in general uses phosphorous in its tracer element, which tends to burn orange/red. Soviet ammunition has always used barium, even back to WW2, which instead burns green.

This game looks really good. Two more weeks till it's released here.

Huge Phosphorous Explosion

>> ^FlowersInHisHair:
As opposed to all the humane grenades we normally use?

The frag grenades we normally use are primarily designed to incapacitate, though they are certainly lethal within a considerable radius. (Approximately 5m lethal, 15m wounding, according to FAS.org) Yes, being killed by a frag grenade is a terrible thing, but being wounded by a white phosphorous grenade is a much worse fate.
Being wounded by a frag grenade is like being shot with a (jagged) projectile. Being wounded by a white phosphorous grenade is like being shot and then scalded at 5000 deg F, and if one is unfortunate enough to survive the burns, an exceedingly unpleasant death from phosphorous poisoning.

The goal of combat is not strictly to kill your opponent. The objective is to reduce or eliminate your opponent's will or ability to fight.
Incapacitation is equally effective as killing at achieving this goal on an individual level. Persuasion even more so. Unfortunately, we've come to the (questionably-valid) conclusion that killing is more efficient and economical.

No upvote for two main reasons:
Terrible camera, can't hold focus and makes horrendous noise as it tries to shift focus
& the big one
Rather than holding steady on the explosion so we can see the shockwave come across the ground, he pans up to see the rather dull cloud rolling upwards.

Oh, I see, you're one of those form over function kinda guys. It's real and someone recorded it. Kinda like amateur porn, it gives an illusion that a steady cam can't.

I prefer amateur porn, but my explosions have to be professional.

I was thinking the same shit! I'm like, "FUCK! I wanted to see the shockwave!"

I also wondered if any little children or kittens wandered into the blast zone as the troops were driving off to a safe distance after setting the charges. Whoopsie! Vaporized kitty parts.

Evidence of White Phosphorus in Gaza

balabing says...

Even the Israeli government is not denying white phosphorous bombs were used at this point. They still maintain the bombs were used lawfully away from civilian population.

This is a slight change from their previous position where they claim only inert white phosphorous was used to illuminate target area.

That was a change from their previous claim that no white phosphorous was used at all.

Stay tune for next week's explanations.
