Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Climate Change Debate
I'm with @newtboy. Do you actually read the responses or just cherry pick the parts that suit your agenda? Christ, even in the part you quoted I said "the first step". The paragraph before that explicitly outlined how that there were huge challenges to overcome.
And you're posting links from an organisation that
You expect that to be taken seriously?
Oh, and your passive-aggressive hypocrisy is staggering....
Fixing problems often requires much more effort and commitment than simply "admitting the problem."
But I commend for you getting through an entire comment without a single slur or epithet. You must be so proud.

I totally agree. It's incredibly sad. If the New York City subway system had run with this sort of precision through the 60s and 70s, the city might have never gone through terrible economic recession of the 70s...because the attraction of such an incredible infrastructure system is compelling for everyone.
What gets me is the apparent investment in maintaining infrastructure. In the US we just kind of build it and leave it, and only in the last few decades does it feel like we're getting around to: "... Oh, yeah I guess we should check on that...?"
Cosmic Journeys : Attack of the Sun- watch in High Def
They should have finished with footage from KNOWING where New York City is completely incinerated
Oakland CA Is So Scary Even Cops Want Nothing To Do With It
This is Democrat failure of epic proportion.
From Wikipedia:
Politics
"Oakland was politically conservative from the 1860s to the 1950s, led by the Republican-oriented Oakland Tribune newspaper. In the 1950s and '60s, the majority stance shifted to favor liberal policies and the Democratic Party.[156][157] Oakland has by far the highest percentage of registered Democrats of any of the incorporated cities in Alameda County. As of 2009, Oakland has 204,646 registered voters, and 140,858 (68.8%) are registered Democrats, 12,248 (5.9%) are registered Republicans, and 41,109 (20.1%) decline to state a political affiliation.[158] Oakland is widely regarded as being one of the most liberal major cities in the nation.
The Cook Partisan Voting Index of Congressional District 13, which includes Oakland and Berkeley, is D+37; among the six most extremely Democratic congressional districts in the US."
Crime:
Oakland's crime rate began to escalate during the late 1960s, and by the end of the 1970s Oakland's per capita murder rate had risen to twice that of its neighbor city, San Francisco, or that of New York City.[125]
During the first decade of the 21st century Oakland has consistently been listed as one of the most dangerous large cities in the United States.[126] Until 2010 the homicide rate dropped four times in a row, and violent crime in general had dropped 27%.
Violent crime in general, and homicides in particular, increased during 2011.[127] In 2012 Oakland reported 131 homicides, the highest since 2006 (when there were 148 recorded).[128][129]"
I know one thing...you can't blame this on conservatives.
Black Range Rover Runs Over Bikers in NYC
Found the video on another site since YouTube no longer has it. http://www.radiolive.co.nz/VIDEO-Bikers-chase-Range-Rover-through-New-York-City/tabid/673/articleID/38178/Default.aspx
After watching it, I must say, if I was the RR driver, a lot more bikers would be dead. The bikers got off easy from the looks of it. The RR could have swerved into them while they were riding up past him, could have aimed for them etc. Hell, if it had been me, the first guy that came and tried to open the door up wouldn't be alive anymore. And neither would the guy busting open my window.
But hey, that's just the way I'd react to a gang of bikers purposely harassing myself and my kid.
Then again, as a cyclist, I just call the cops and file a report when someone driver slights me purposely. And as many have said, we don't know what happened before the segment posted, but I would wager a fair bit of money that the most the RR would have done was yell at them or honk, or in the midst of a sudden onrush of motorcycles while trying to change lanes freaked out and didn't know what to do.
The Scarecrow
Almost all of the GMO's on the list are when "Soybean Oil" is an ingredient. They mention that "Our restaurants in the New York Metropolitan area (including New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Northern New Jersey, and Southwestern Connecticut) use Rice Bran Oil, while in other restaurants we use Soybean Oil. We are currently in the process of transitioning all of our restaurants to cooking with Rice Bran Oil."
McDonald's was an early investor in Chipotle. Here's a current list of all the GMO's in Chipotle's meals (i.e., everything marked with a G).
Too bad it's the marketing campaign that matters, not its veracity.
13 Signs You've Lived In NYC Too Long
I've visited New York a couple times and all I know is that there's a fascination with it that I understand. How many movies and shows are about, in, or around New York City? How much of our History is about New York City and it's culture? Heck I know more about it's boroughs than the city where I actually live.
Low Security Jail In Norway
This video was talking about Norway, and the Norwegian system, and although there are some similarities with Sweden it would be a bit like me suggesting that Canada is unsafe because of crime in the U.S.A.
One thing that does stand out when looking at both countries is that they are very small. Norway has approximately the population of Melbourne (or Los Angeles) and Sweden is approximately New York City (or Melbourne and Sydney combined)... and of course there is more crime in the larger cities like Oslo than in smaller towns.
Thanks for your comment since, despite not entirely agreeing with your original statement because I think the topic is a little more complicated than that, I have learned something (about both Norway and Sweden)
@oritteropo
The reason you don't know this is because your thought-leaders intentionally hide information from you

Lego paper plane folding machine
"Man arrested on the observation deck of New York City's Empire State Building today after 14 people were critically injured as far away as Queens and Westchester, as north-easterly winds carried thousands of paper airplanes he was throwing...."
Man , the headline would just keep getting better!!
Give me 100 of these things at the top of the Empire State Building.
zambie ~ to keep back
Zambri are sisters from New York City (Cristi Jo and Jessica)
They have a web site http://zambri.net/ with links to twitter and their label's web site etc. but tbh I didn't find much either. I believe they played at SXSW, perhaps there will be some videos out there?
New York's Mayor Bloomberg Promotes Agenda, Wastes Money
Well, I didn't say tax payer's money, I know it was his personal coin. It came form the same pile of money the cunt bought the election with-He's a fucking piece of human garbage, and all I have to do is watch what he does, and listen to him talk.
These attempts of his to blame the drug and not the user with guns??....Complete horseshit, another baby-step towards the future police state AFAIAC.
"The MAIG was formed on April 25, 2006, during a summit held at Gracie Mansion in New York City that was hosted by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who serve as co-chairs of the coalition."-waki
To be fair, he didn't waste taxpayer money. It was paid for by "Mayors Against Illegal Guns", which has over 900 mayors as members. Would you like to donate ?
It's a Bird!...It's a Plane! Yep, It's a Plane.
