Disabled Mans Navajo Blanket Worth A Small Fortune

What a cynical point of view.

So his ancestor payed 4 years of wages so he could pay off his bills?

I was impressed at the sum of money someone would pay for that, my jaw was dropping in the auction room, but I would have been more moved by this story had this disabled man worked hard and achieved his dreams instead of being magically saved by a blanket he just happened to have had all along.

From poor, humble serf
Dependent on government
Up through tax brackets

Beautifully done, QM. May your artistic residency on these boards continue for many years!

According to liberal doctrine, this man just went from a humble serf, dependent on government, to an evil rich White guy who should be taxed at 90%.

Ellis emerged the victor, ultimately purchasing the piece for $1.8 million (all prices include 20% buyer’s premium).

I'm guessing there is a 20% auction fee which would put the sale at $1.8 mil.
>> ^gwiz665:
Was only $1.5 mil.

Wrong direction. Seller pays the fee, so Big LT gets $1.3 Million.
Barely worth the effort IMHO.

E3 2011: Prey 2 - Holy goddamn, Blade Runner, anyone?

NinjaInHeat says...

I see, so after you capture the bounty it gets teleported into the spirit realm and you have to follow it and fight some alien spirits using your spirit auto-cannon and spirit nano-implants. I mean, it's either that or that they decided to dump that whole Navajo-rambo thing they had going on, which seems highly unlikely seeing as it worked so well the first time around.

Baby Owl tries to Nom Nom Nom

rougy says...

Did you see how they kind of danced?

In many cultures, the owl is either loved or hated.

My Navajo bud, and I think he was speaking for all Navajo's, hated owls. I think because they hunted in the night, and that was considered evil.

Whereas other cultures see that as good, to be able to see in the dark, to be able to see what others can't.

The Rachel Maddow Show: Apocalypse Now?

rougy says...

Rachel should have blown their minds and invited a Navajo medicine man, a Zen Buddhist monk, and maybe a witch doctor from the South Seas to balance things out.

How to Make A Terrorist Cry

rychan says...

His speech pattern is a bit weird as well.

"Did I ever put a member of al qaeda in floaties and send them down a water slide into the rio grande on a tuesday during a full moon while dressed as a chicken and doing a navajo rain dance? of course"

He can only say things by asking himself questions first.

Also I'm a bit concerned about the family connections. I read of another person who was falsely imprisoned and he said the American interrogators threatened to go after his family members if he did not tell them what they wanted. So when this interviewee offering to help family members, was that to keep them safe from the bad cop who was interviewing them before?
