A Sane Republican

Nithern says...

This guy is so un-republican. He's NOT:

1) White
2) Old
3) Super Rich
4) Afraid of Socialistic Communism (how that works, I dont know)
5) Cares about those in his district
6) Has a spine

Yeah, this guy is so going to turn Democrat. Mr. Micheal Steele, 'head guy' for the GOP announced before this vote, that if anyone supported it, there would be harsh consequences. Well, Mr. Steele, is just a 'yes' man of his party. Someone that does what ever his GOP Masters tell him to do or say. I guess its rather sad when one thinks about it, with Mr. Steele. He's no more an a true American, then his Ancestor in bondage back before the Civil War on the plantations...

I enjoyed him grilling Bernanke , but this just seemed like self congratulatory non-sense, I thought I was watching Micheal Moore. Anyone else get the same sentiment?

Nonsense? Really, nonsense?
You remain true to your namesake. Well done.

What a rude comment when I was asking for others opinions, not slander. Give the man with pork flu a break.

You had to bring SWINES into this!

What a bunch of poppycock, sir! POPPYCOCK! <removes glove and slaps gsf across the face>

And who'd ever ask for slander? I'll tell you who: ME!

Slander me! Do it! Do it now! I'm right here! What are you waiting for?

Congratulatory? Where? He called his rightly own party pussies for not being able to do anything, and rightly called the Republicans obstructionists for simply being against whatever the Dems are for, no matter the issue.

So.... if mass protests, the kind that stop traffic, and the kind where people get arrested or even killed, are the most effective - then why is the government of Iran back to exactly the way it was?

oh yeah, cause Micheal Jackson died, and all international news media immediately turned to cover that story instead.

Barney Frank Confronts Woman Comparing Obama To Hitler

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

It's not the "neolibs" that revel in hypocrisy so much as it's the ****ing braindead morons.

Fair enough. As far as all the other comments go... "Neolib" is a term of my own creation. I use it to describe the leftist, liberal side of a debate in the very same way that neolibs use the term "neocon" to describe any/all conservatives. I'll make you a deal. I'll stop using 'neolib' as soon as liberals stop using 'neocon' as a generic epithet. Don't hold your breath.

We also deny that there's any kind of predisposition in America's left to be violent.

An old man and a black guy were beaten by left-wing AFL/CIO union thugs at health care debates. Bernadine Dorn & Micheal Ayers ring a bell? The Unibomber? The woman in this video? She's a left wing kook. The old guy that shot a bunch of people at that military museum? He was a left wing kook.

You may not want to admit this, but the left-wing of the US has a storied history of violence, intolerance, prejudice, and bigotry. The left isn't some bunch of snoots sitting around with a brandy snifter. They use guns, bombs, and violence just as much as the fringe right. It's a different brand of idiocy than what comes from - say - a bunch of skinheads, but that's no reason to pretend it doesn't exist.

while the American right (read Republicans, not Libertarians) think government should serve the interests of business first and foremost.

I'll disagree here. This is a NEOLIB (ha!) opinion that is skewed and incorrect. People on the right think federal government should be confined to its originally prescribed Constitutional duties (defense and some minor inter/intrastate regulation). That's all.

Michael Jackson is Dead, Joins Farrah Fawcett (News Talk Post)

Kreegath says...

Michael Jackson had perhaps the single biggest impact on the sound of the 80's, and I'm sure just about all who lived through that decade will have atleast some emotional memories associated with his music. I know I'll miss him, and will make sure his musical legacy is left to posterity.

Posting every song of his that I like would take up way too much room; and since there's no internal list of best-to-worst songs in my head, here's one song of Micheal Jackson's which holds a personal emotional significance (also, one of a select few songs in history which doesn't need more cowbell):
