Ian Mckellen on Religion and Homosexuality

Professor Tolkien would not approve. Ian obviously feels threatened by Gods judgement on his lifestyle, and well he should be, but to boast about defacing the bible on television takes it to a whole other level of criminality and rebellion. All I have to say is that you reap what you sow.

"gods judgement?" You mean mans judgement. It is clear beyond doubt that the bible was man made and the "morals" contained in it have, for the most part, been disgarded as bronze age fear mongering and control. However, if you still believe in stoning for adultery, working on the sabbath, females not being virgins on their wedding night, cursing your parents, "honour" killings, etc, etc, etc, then go live in a country that still practices such barbarity. This is 2012CE not 12CE, and the morals we adhere to now are the product of concensus, debate and intellectual discourse. Of course they will change as we change, it's called evolving, you might enjoy giving it a try.

What an incredibly bigoted, judgmental and hateful statement.

Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Needs more Patrick Stewart, but other than that, freaking awesome.

The Xavier vs Magneto story was always my favorite. It is great they are finally going to go into that dynamic relationship!

Ya I know! Aren't Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart the most perfect casting of any movie ever? It might be the shortfall on respectable bald actors, but I always hoped he would be prof-X. I like that they are telling the young story of X and Magneto, but I do hope we get to have some more "modern" (lol) encounters of those foes of friends.

Jean-Luc Picard 2012.

Seconded!
I forgot how good of an actor patrick stewart became through ST. I just was watching some season 1 and 2, and he is so bad, a ton of overacting. But later on, he nails it perfectly. It is kind of fun watching his evolution from Broadway to silver screen.

I completely agree that Patrick Stewart became a better television actor through being on Star Trek but his real talent came from his years as a stage actor. Much like Andreas Katsulas and Ian McKellen who also gained their excellent talents from theatre I think Patrick Stewart was a powerful and compelling actor before he ever stepped into the shoes of Picard!

Did anyone see Patrick Stewart and David Tennant's performance of Hamlet that was running in 2008 and 2009? Very good, didn't get to go since tickets were scarce for every venue and every night but the BBC filmed it and released it at the end of last year.

Also let's not forget his appearance in Robin Hood: Men in Tights; or the 1984 version of Dune!

Upvote for the music. Thought the animation was pretty obviously an artschool project. B+

And, what's up with the gay tag? Is everything made by a gay artists automatically imbued with the essence of gayness? Like should every clip of Sir. Ian McKellen have a gay tag as well?

It's just amusing. Don't over-think it.>> ^ForgedReality:

Right, okay, I understand the video. But, my question is, why is this so amazing to videosifters? Where is the huge internet story where people are calling him out and saying he's faking? And how would he fake it anyway? I don't see how people would get it in their head that it's fake since nothing he says appears in any of Ian's films or anything. Skimming comments, I don't really see anyone saying "OOH THIS IS SO FAKE" in his videos.
So, basically, again, what is so amazing about this?

Uhhmmm.. I guess I don't get it. I've not been immersed in the internet as much as I should have I guess.
Why does this have so many votes? O.o

Because he is faking faking it. He does an awesome impression yet people feel the need to call out fake, so he is just toying with them.
