hypocrisy of the left

newtboy says...

If you say all lives matter in response to black lives matter, you're a racist blinding yourself to the truth that in many ways black lives don't seem to matter to authority. It's like sitting at a big table where everyone but you gets served dinner, and when you mention that your dinner matters you get answered with an angry "all dinners matter" but no food.

You can't commit crimes, dumbass. How moronic are you?

You can't (edit: or shouldn't, I guess you still can in most places) go to church because Covid is real, not a fake virus as some morons insist. I wish these deniers would sign a petition denouncing and refusing any medical treatment for covid related issues, then go party with each other making sure to shake hands and kiss each other ceaselessly. Put your health where your mouth is...or don't you believe the dangerous bullshit you spout?

Peaceful protesters don't carry bricks, those are Boogaloo boys looking to start riots. Peaceful protests at capitals protesting masks and shutdowns aren't what happened, heavily armed violent takeovers of federal buildings to denounce public health measures and threaten public officials with lynchings and mob murders is what happened....but with no feds sent in after them like was done preemptively in Portland.

Protests in the streets by mask wearing, social distancing people is not a major risk factor, indoor Trump rallies without masks or social distancing ARE a major risk factor, and sparked outbreaks.

So much nonsense and ignorance in such an annoying package is almost impressive.

David Attenborough on how to save the planet

newtboy says...

Life's not the movies.
In real life, the rich have police and private security, secure buildings and walled off communities to make sure that doesn't happen.
What you do see is a total separation. The rich and the poor rarely exist in the same space, and on those rare occasions when they do, the rich protect themselves in ways the poor don't even consider....like bullet and knife proof clothing, body guards, armored cars, etc.
Put 5 billionaires in East Oakland or Compton at night without cell phones or guards, I think you'll see the lynching you're looking for.

For it to become the norm, maybe wait 10-20 years....less if there's another drought in places like California where we grow most of what we feed the nation.

It's like a frog in the pot....if you were to time travel from 1950, you would be horrified at the current state of civilization and the planet, because it's a slow change, people forget and ignore how bad it really is. The pot doesn't need to be boiling for the frog to get cooked.

Aside: TIL I've only seen the new Mad Max.

Oh, I know. I'm not waiting for Bartertown, per se. I'm waiting until, say in the case of inequality causing civil unrest, rich people getting strung up in public by huge mobs.

You know, stuff that happens in movies but is coming to a city near you. Literally.

The Real National Emergency Is Climate Change: A Closer Look

newtboy says...

Oh HELL no. Anyone who accepts her endorsement or worse, her "help" should be run out of the election immediately, don't pass go, don't collect $200. Go away Hillary, you already cost us 4 years of Trump, if you do it again you deserve the lynching you'll receive from his base.

Like many ideas that might have saved the planet, they only stood a chance of working if you removed any choice.
Since that's not the norm in most places, I've understood we are doomed almost since I first heard of over population exceeding the sustainable food production levels, then along came global warming and ocean acidification. I understand that most people today are not capable of long term responsibility....making decisions based on how they effect their great grandchildren. It only took one century of living for today to set up a situation that threatens to destroy the planet. I see less than no hope of staving off disaster, instead of even trying we're firing all rockets at 110% to speed up the process and arguing over possibly turning down the thermostat next year.

Mordhaus said:

its even been mentioned on CNN that Hillary might toss her hat in again or try to lend weight to a conservative Dem nominee so as to 'trump' the progressives.

Your idea sounds fair, but I could only see something like that working in a country like China, where the 'incentives' are that you don't get stood against the wall.

Speech Pathologist in Texas Fired for Refusing Israel Oath

bcglorf says...

The social media mobs that take it on themselves to get 'bad' people fired and ideally unemployable make this problem more in our faces now too.

It even leaves me a bit skewed too. If someone kept on an employee that was in the KKK or a neo-nazi group, I'd then wonder about that person for NOT firing them. If the employee was a model employee and kept their beliefs quite though is that right? I see a lot of the SJW lynch mob firings and the only difference is I consider KKK membership bad enough, while the SJW crowd just picks a different political line...

ChaosEngine said:

Yeah, it’s a tricky problem.

I while there are certainly cases where an employee can impact their employers business through their beliefs, statements or actions, in general I think the burden of proof should be on the employer.

And there’s certainly no way an employee should ever be made to sign something like this.

And for the record, it goes the other way too. If a “liberal” company fired someone for refusing to sign an anti trump thing, they’d be wrong too.

Cherry picked!? Lol.

"One white person is pleasant company; 50 white people are a lynch mob waiting to happen.".... (Blanket racial statement)
Drachen_Jager-
"Not entirely inaccurate, though." (Endorsement)

All the other tripe is attempting to change the subject.
You said the blanket statement about whites is not entirely wrong, in some places it's not entirely wrong, sometimes in some places it's not entirely wrong.....
I'm consistent in saying any blanket statement is wrong, and blanket statements about race are invariably wrong and racist.

There is no debate here. You just keep changing your position so you can argue.
Enjoy

Drachen_Jager said:

You really like the sound of your own voice, don't you?

1) You cherry picked and then exaggerated my statements.

2) You toned it down a bit, while still doing both of the above.

3) Now you're just cherry picking.

There's no point debating you if you're just going to be disingenuous about it.

Does a group of white people who are purposely excluding racial minorities seem equally, more, or less prone to racially charged violence than a multi-ethnic group?

And before you bring that black group back into the discussion, remember, odds are (at least in the US) they don't have the range of options the whites do. Most of the time, a group of 50 or more black people forms with no other racial groups present because they're pushed into less desirable areas and excluded from the wealthier side of society. I agree that it's possible that group could be prone to violence, but I'd argue that their reasons would stem more from social inequality, rather than racism. You can't make that same argument for the white group.

TED Talk: Whitopia

newtboy says...

My counter argument....that that's not what you said....and it's still inaccurate.

You said the blanket statement about any/every group of 50 whites being a violent racist gang is not entirely inaccurate. It is.

Now, had you said the blanket statement about every group of 50 whites being a lynch mob was true some of the time, that would still be a wildly inaccurate overstatement, but better. There has been no point in time when every group of 50 white men was a lynch mob.

Had you said what you now say, it's not entirely inaccurate because it's true some of the time in certain specific areas with certain groupings, it would be contradicting the original blanket statement which is inaccurate, so it's still technically incorrect, just like saying the statement about groups of black people isn't entirely inaccurate....it is, because the unwritten but undeniable subject of the statement is ANY group of 50 black/white people, not one specific group in a few specific places at some times.

If you understand that, you understand why it's entirely inaccurate no matter how you wish to interpret the rest.

Is it true that there have been groups of 50 white men that were a lynch mob, yes. That doesn't resemble what you said.

Drachen_Jager said:

Okay, still an exaggeration. How about we take it to mean what it says, instead, "That's true some of the time."

Now, your counter-argument is?

Newt,

I was riffing off the statement told to the presenter that 'one black person is pleasant company; 50 black people are a ghetto.'

Obviously, I don't believe that white people gather in numbers just for the sole purpose of lynching. It's possible that Lynyrd Skynyrd is in town.

Woman Tries To Block access to Apartment

newtboy says...

I think it's not likely she would have been so insistent he was barging in if he had used his key fob as he claims, but when he had a working key to his apartment that should have made it obvious he belonged there, after that I'm not sure why the police were needed. That's the only thing I see she did that was uncalled for, calling the police after he produced and used a working apartment key.

I do agree, she should have just called the police (not the board) immediately and kept an eye on him and not tried to physically stop him, for her own safety and liability. I don't agree she should ignore a stranger pushing their way into a secure building, even without the HOA emails. That's just being responsible.

The article indicated she had produced multiple emails from the HOA/management telling her (and every other tenant) to not allow anyone they don't personally know inside without using their key fob, which is what I believe he did, not use the key fob. (If he had used his fob, he could have easily let the door close and used it again in <2 seconds instead of intentionally creating this incident he recorded and uploaded to shame her, it would still be in his hand. It's possible they're both telling the truth, her leash was holding the door open and he used his fob, wrongly assuming that's why the door opened while she wrongly assumed he just pushed it open.)
If that's correct, the HOA asked residents to act as amateur security, I'm curious how they expect that to be enforced against people like him who not only ignore that request but rudely insist on being intentionally obtuse and looking as suspicious as possible. I also wonder if this was his intent with his suspicious actions, creating another racist white woman to figuratively publicly lynch. It seems likely, considering all the facts and the current climate, and his actions during and after the incident. He's milking this for every second of public exposure he can, from what I've seen, being interviewed on every newsertainment show that will have him.

Mordhaus said:

She claims she had the door cracked and he came in. He claims he used his key fob, you can hear him in his video claiming he buzzed in with it at 1:31.

As an individual member of the HOA, she is not allowed to enforce anything. She can report the incident to the Board and they can enforce fines etc. The HOA board hasn't even stuck up for her actions, which means they are likely sending out messages telling their fellow condo owners to act as security in lieu of actual security.

You can tell she knew she fucked up when she saw him put his keys in the door to his condo. She may not be racist, but she is the type of person that shot Trayvon Martin. We should likely be glad she didn't own a firearm.

Black Child Abducted and Assaulted by White Supremacists

newtboy says...

Really, he's competent enough to escape from multiple armed kidnappers, several kids and at least one adult who all just left him alone and unrestrained while they all went into another, non adjoining room so he could escape unnoticed, but he can't show police where the property full of racists, guns, and torture devices he escaped on foot from is? And local police don't know the fat ginger racist in a red truck with "I hate black people" tattooed on his forearm by name?
Sounds pretty fishy to me.

Inappropriate channel assignments, so
*nochannel
Maybe *news (likely fake news) *equality and *controversy, but certainly not for kids and not related to the military war on terror. Also not a lynching.

New Rule: Distinction Deniers

ChaosEngine says...

I must have missed the news cycle where Weinstein, Spacey, etc were murdered, 'cos last I checked not only were they still alive, they were still free people, who so far, have suffered relatively minor inconveniences for the crimes they committed.

I think you have confused "telling people how someone assaulted you" with "calling for a lynch mob".

How one tweet can ruin your life - Jon Ronson

newtboy says...

Yes. Profiting off of racism and racists of a specific race is also racist.

Some history, not how it works today. The guy in your link wasn't fired for saying something about whites he was fired for making political statements (that were intentionally misidentified as anti military, anti flag, anti America) at a work sponsored function, and not what happened to Kapernick either, he may be hired again next year and wasn't fired for a minor private joke about white people. I won't bother with lynching...please. Don't be a bobknight, dragging up red herrings and claiming they're blue fin tuna.

Funny, you bemoan the historical mistreatment of certain people while advocating mistreating others in the same or more harsh way, all based on race, and you probably think you aren't racist....in fact I would bet you feel you are fighting against racism....by sounding racist.
*facepalm

C-note said:

So you are implying profiting off racism and racists is racist. That is an interesting opinion.
In america there is a well documented history of what happens to any black person caught demeaning whites in any minor way.
