Ugh... While I appreciate the sentiment, if there was ever a modern live action version for Akira, these guys should not be the ones to make it.

But more importantly thanks to all of you for being as disappointed as I am in Michael Bay for taking the dream of a new, awesome TMNT series and crushing it like a dung beetle.

When I heard they were remaking it, it took me back to that elementary school playground where someone told me they were going to release a TMNT movie with live-action turtles. I was in disbelief, but then I could not wait. It was the most excited I'd ever been for a movie.

The possibility of reliving that excitement for a new TMNT was, as @newtboy put it, raped from my soul when I heard Michael Bay was at the helm. This trailer confirmed my worst fears.

I hope for all voting to cease so this pile of turd can sit on on the sift with exactly -17 votes as a testament to what transpired here.

I loved the movie. I didn't expect a thought provoking experience. I didn't expect Inception or the original Matrix, I expected giant robots punching monsters in the face and mindless fun, and it delivered that in spades. Yeah, dumb stuff in the movie, but it was so full of win, like he says, I can't wait for the sequel... If they don't approve his At the Mountains of Madness movie, I would at least hope they go for a live action Neon Genesis Evangelion... I'd do a live action version of the 4 Rebuild of Rebuild of Evangelion films, so 4 live action movies that catch most of the story...

Such a great show. Might be the first animated show that's extremely funny and not really for children - in my experience.

I also think they get away with a hell of a lot of stuff they wouldn't if this was live action.

Hollywood needs to do a live-action Archer flick-Bet it would be a big hit if they cast it right..

.. it felt like watching a live-action cartoon in the very best way. Ron Perlman's character design and the loving shots of his shoes are straight out of a Madhouse anime (Animatrix, REDLINE).

I might potentially go back to see this one a second time. I hope it has a surge at the box-office..

If there was a Final Fantasy 7 live action movie, I think she looks the perfect part for Tifa.

I always get the names mixed-up with Greek mythos characters-I thought Sysiphus was female, related to Narcissus but that's a dude named Cephissus, the father of Narcissus the river god.

Hey there, I'm the friend in question (and the other half of Funny Shorts, for those that didn't make the connection). A couple things:
1) It wasn't DWA, it was DreamWorks Studios, on the live-action side of things.
2) I was only given a slap on the wrist over the phone. It was my college that received a phone call saying I'd never get a job there after that.
3) All the people I met at Dreamworks were, and still are, AWESOME! And I mean that sincerely. I hold no hard feelings whatsoever for the reaction to the video. It was an entirely valid response.I mean, I put their CEO AND ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED DIRECTORS IN THE WORLD in it, without permission, as if we were BFFs. That deserves an extreme reaction, one way or the other. I was sort of hoping for the other, but still, totally valid.
4) I'm not sure that I can prove that this happened, really. Hopefully people can just enjoy the video regardless? It has the Jurrasic Park theme in it, guys. How can we listen to that and not all get along?

I'm calling it: They'll turn this into a wire-guided live action anime and it'll be the worst thing since the last Wolverine movie.
