While cats can conduct electricity, notice the cat by it's self doesn't trigger the lamp. This is because cats have no soul.

The window panes are political quadrants. The lower right corner is punched out, indicating the man is anarcho-capitalist. The lamp is tilted toward the newspaper to bring light upon the Sri Lankan Civil War, which was set off by an ambush the day after this comic was published. (That's why the newspaper is blank. Nothing newsworthy compared to the following days/week.) The meat on the table symbolizes the impending carnage, as thousands would die, and 150,000 made homeless.

Sometimes unanticipated consequences can be fun.
And those censorship bars are often a complete joke, it's like watching a penis the size of nuclear submarine trying to hide behind a lamp post. Which I of course, totally approve of.

I actually did this as my high school chemistry project. I used 70% rubbing alcohol, 90% rubbing alcohol, and pure ether (don't try that at home, kids). You can get a number of different effects, only some of which were seen here.

As I recall, there were 5 distinct effects I noticed.
First, and most exciting, the jet. This was just a 2-6 foot jet of flame out the top, I surmised it was caused by low oxygen inside the glass making for a poor partial burn inside until the pressure pushes out enough unburnt vapor to burn outside. Depending on the fuel (both vapor level and fuel type), this could last up to 10 seconds.
There's a 'neck burn', where the flame hovers just inside the neck and just burns there, apparently in equilibrium, like an oil lamp.
There's the fire ball, which is just as it sounds, a round ball of fire, usually hovering in the top 1/3 of the bottle, sometimes bouncing up and down, but always centered.
There's the flash, where the entire interior flashes repeatedly, as seen in this video. This can end much more violently than it did here, 'pinging' the bottle loudly as the flashes get more powerful. When this happened with ether, we stopped, afraid we were making a glass bomb surrounded by high school kids.
Finally was the fire plane, also seen in this video, which can ascend, descend, or hover in place. This was my favorite effect, especially when it hovered and lasted up to 30 seconds long.

I know I've seen this done by someone else where it was done slightly differently with better, more thorough cremation. I think they put the pig in the chair and let it smolder naturally, with the fat melting, wicking into the cloth, and feeding the fire for hours like an oil lamp. This video really looked like the cloth just burned and scorched the pig, but not really '(non)spontaneous pork combustion'.

meh, seem to be really grasping at straws here... video could be 1/10th the length if it didn't include so many non-issues. I mean the number of lamps in the set-dressing of a room is something 'wrong' with a bond film? Just no.

Why would a lamp be called Tisdag? Is that like the only day the socialist overlords permit the use of electricity for bourgeois purposes?

I don't see how that is in any way more efficient than current methods. I'd go so far as to say it is vastly, massively inefficient. Still, the chairs and lamps are cool looking and I'd like to own one.
