Oh man. you're putting me on the spot with that question. I traded 1/2 ownership of a 128mac for my brother's old apple 2 and a shoe box of floppy's. I didn't go through 1/2 of them before I got kicked out of the house and he took it all back. I remember a few text games...hitchhikers guide among them. I think also defender, Montezuma's revenge sounds familiar, Wolfenstien, Beyond Wolfenstien, Cannonball Blitz, Centipede, choplifter, crystal castles, frogger, galaxian, joust, kung fu master, leisure suit larry in the land of the lounge lizards, lode runner, missile defense, moon patrol, qix, tapper, ultima (maybe ultima 2), and zork. That's all I recognize from the list.

What other Apple 2 games did you played? Here's what I played that I could re(member/call): Wings of Fury, Diamond Mine, Kareteka, Montezuma's Revenge, Aztec, Gemstone Warrior, Conan O'Brien (think I submitted it here), Ancient Art of War (a pastor gave me that game haha), Boulder Dash, Champion Ship Lode Runner (finished and got a paper certificate), etc.

Jackie Chan - How to Do Action Comedy

newtboy says...

Do you mean 'kung fu hustle'? 'kung fu shuffle' seems to be from 2010.

Curious as to how people feel about "Kung Fu Shuffle" and "Shaolin Soccer" by Stephen Chow back in the 2000's? It fits the genre (of sorts), has comedy (although perhaps more oriental than western in sensibilities), and I've found them to be lots of fun. There's some parallels between him and Jackie, although Steven's not acted in a while.

Thank you!! I've fallen so in love with kangaroos after seeing the video below. Someone here was telling me that as cute as they are, they sometimes attack so you shouldn't get too close...which is what inspired my cute "kung fu kangaroo" avatar.

Super Mario Theme Song Played on Ancient Chinese Instrument

lucky760 says...

No, but I've started taking lessons from the old Kung Fu master who lives down the street. I'm practicing three times a day and hope to be able to play it very soon. Once I do I'll put it on YouTube so you can see how awesome I am.

Boy Stands up at City Council on Bullying

chingalera says...

My fix if I were an adult on the school system would be to perhaps sponsor a support group-type action-awareness campaign to empower the bullied kids through a kind of humiliation campaign against the most egregious of offenders and perpetrators.

Kung Fu instruction from a 'real' kung fu master for a solid year to lay down the foundation for defense as well...Maybe some Krav Maga?? Teach em the cockpuncher defense and have a team of girls protect the smaller, less-confident boys??
I'd get real creative..

Humiliate the alpha in the herd and they tend to slink the fuck off and take their friends with em...

I dealt with douchebags by confusing the shit out of them-In the 10th grade I made great friends with the junior-varsity cheerleaders in my remedial math class, and sat at the cheerleader table at lunch, pissed some jocks off for a while until I started telling them what their GF's were talking about them....then the started coming to me for advice...Helps when you can get them weed as well

KUNG FURY Official Trailer - AKA Best Movie Trailer Ever

Chairman_woo says...

I have played Blood Dragon.....3 times now.

@9547bis 's point still stands. 80's revivalism/nostalgia has been with us before either this or Blood dragon (I'm pretty mad into my "retro synthwave" at the moment)

Blood Dragon has
No Nazis
No Thor
No "Hacking through time"
No Bright red 80' sports cars
No Vakyrie warrior maidens

i.e. basically anything in common other than being inspired by the cheesiest elements of a particular decade.

Plus Blood dragon while also being very very silly had a somewhat more realistic edge to it than this and draws more on war and sci-fi films & games. Rather than the broader action & kung fu film strokes in this trailer.

I'm not saying there can't have been maybe a touch of inspiration/motivation from blood dragon, but the material they have produced so far bears no resemblance to me of a rip off in any way shape or form.

It's like saying The Last Starfighter was a rip off of Starwars.
Last Starfighter may have been motivated by the success of Starwars but the resulting film felt entirely original (well as original as any standard format hero epic).

I think you'd change your mind if you'd played Blood Dragon.

Nobody is getting into these shorts

chingalera says...

This product is a non-utilitarian piece of over-priced garbage. The women they market this to that will actually BUY it are types that spend thousands of dollars on covetous bullshit, over-priced meals, housekeepers, etc. Privileged, paranoid, nigga-rich white bitches. How about a DIY belt with a fucking padlock onnit? Cheaper and more effective.

Krav Maga and utilization of pokey stuff: The two fastest and best ways for women to not only stop an attacker, but seriously fuck them up permanently.
Kung Fu or a pistol works fine, too.

Oh and ladies, please continue kicking your assailant in the genitals and soft tissue until police arrive?? Why send them back out on the street or even to trial, eh?? Embrace the mind of your attacker....with a heel to his temple after he lay bleeding on the ground. That'll learn 'em to practice unilaterally satisfying sex again.

Gorillaz - Dirty Harry (Hong Kong style)

This is one of the rare remixes that I actually liked. Also of note for this tune, this song was also featured in Karate/Kung-Fu Kid with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

Kung Fu Hustle - Axe Gang Fight Scene

sixshot says...

ah I remember this one... Shaolin Soccer was definitely Chow's big break-out hit, both in visual and in idea. Kung-Fu Hustle seems more like a nod to the old kung-fu flicks but done with updated visuals. Both decently good. But neither better than the other IMO.
