Award more power points for reaching higher star levels? (Sift Talk Post)
If people were given 10 powerpoints, I don't think you'd end up spammed with frontpages, qualities and promotes. It seems people spread their powerpoint usage out better than that. There are plenty of members here with with piles of powerpoints, but you don't see them promoting 5 videos at once, they'll do one at a time, and qualities for the most part are given to quality videos.
@Kreegath - I hear what you're saying, and yeah, we're all here to share videos not get rewarded. But there's nothing wrong with rewarding people anyway you know? It's just a little thank you more than something to actually aim for.
Anyway, was just an idea
What channel should I make? (User Poll by Hybrid)
@GDGD and @Kreegath, you don't have to make a new one. I took over an existing one when I went ruby.
What channel should I make? (User Poll by Hybrid)
This is a good idea
>> ^Kreegath:
How about instead of creating a new channel when you hit ruby, you get to veto an existing one? Or even get shared responsibility of one, or take over one that's currently got nobody running it, since there really are more than enough channels as it stands.

Was there a "Beyond Belief" 2009? Granted, I only googled "Beyond belief 2009", but found nothing except the 2006-2008 series of conversations.
Seems your search was correct - the series ran from 2006-08.

CNN: Stuff White People Like
>> ^Kreegath:
I'm pretty sure it would be a much longer list if it'd include everything that white persons like, or decidedly shorter if it'd be a list of the things that every white person likes.
What does he even count as "white"? Armenians, or Iranians? How white is "white" to these people? Perhaps its definition is based on how many generations ones family tree has resided in a western country.
By "white" he seems to mostly mean "anybody who's an educated middle-class liberal."

Not funny and anally retentive. Maybe that was the point, but in that case what has really been achieved?

Evangelist Busted For Dead Wife In Freezer...
According to Cenk, Evangelical moralist preacher, Anthony Hopkins, stuffed his wife in a freezer after she caught him molesting children.

No....I didn't catch an excuse for stuffing his wife in a freezer.>> ^Kreegath:
Can't make out what Cenk says the guy's excuse was. Could anyone clarify?
I can see why it doesn't strike you as an excuse, but Cenk said his excuse was the guy didn't know HOW she got dead before he stuffed her in the freezer.
It's right in the video description...?

Muhammed cartoonist Lars Vilks attacked by muslims in Sweden
>> ^Kreegath:
Some more info has been released, and it's been revealed that the person getting sucker punched was a police officer.
Apparently what broke the camel's back for the muslim audience was when they showed a clip of dutch exile-iranian gay porn in Muhammed masks.
I guess I can imagine a bunch of ultra conservative right wing Christians reacting the same way if exposed to gay Jesus on Jesus porn. Is Jesus on Jesus a thing? Because it should be.
Muhammed cartoonist Lars Vilks attacked by muslims in Sweden
>> ^Kreegath:
Whom did you say they let throw a sucker punch? It looks to me like there was a lot of commotion and the many things going on at once took a while to get a handle on. The police acted very professionally.
Then again we generally don't see them as the enemy, nor does every other citizen walk around with a conceiled weapon, so their response doesn't have to be that extreme.
The guy who was assaulted from the left side, at about 35-38 seconds. Then you can see the sucker punch at 45 seconds. By his body language after he threw the punch I could tell he was not a cop. No doubt the cops couldn't do much about stopping the sucker punch, and I doubt anyone really cares. It's a matter of principle, and justice is blind.
Should Brief Videos Be Considered Three Minutes or Less In Duration? (User Poll by MrFisk)
A) No one is voting to make a tag for everything.
B) According to your premise, it would take (and cost) just a tad over a second every time.
C) I think it would be very handy to have 3 or 4 time frame tags; mini, short, long, and epic.
>> ^Kreegath:
Is it really that crucial to have tags for everything? You can see exactly how long a clip is by pressing the miniaturized video window, and it takes a second to do. What exactly is lost by clicking a video and finding out it's longer than you'd like to spend on it?
Should VideoSift Allow "Always On" Perpetual Video Streams? (User Poll by dag)
^well kreegath, verboten is verboten...no streams that the rest of the rules extant don't cover-
Sifting streams is what was done here to alert the users to the concept nad availability. Popularized by votes.-a seperate channel for streams only is an option we would perhaps benefit from-I would...One Stop Shopping.....Like WALMART.
Imagine the VS as a clearing house for all things internet video (minus the porn) and make it a go-to site for anyone interested in internet video....like ovguide is for streams and downloads. Cept the diffence is, no fear of virus or similar bullshit.
And for crissakes, advertising has become the work of the devil online-S'pecially for these catch-up operations the established network stations have added to try to keep up with dwindling ad-rev from YT-
I envision a world where everyone knows what they need w/o advertising, which would be relegated to what they may want....for extras-I imagine a world where everyone creates what they envision, but hey....gonna be awhile-gotta wake everyone up from the illusion first-
IS THIS POLL OVER YET!!!??
