Japanese Hologram Concert

SDGundamX says...

That's hugely impressive... I'm amazed at how real it looks.

From the Huffington Post:

In what is surely a terrible omen not only for musicians but also the continued existence of the world as we know it, holographs are now playing sold out concerts in, where else, Japan.

Colbert Hammers Fox News For Lack Of African-American Viewer

bobknight33 says...

Is it Possible the real question is what percentage of the black population are conservative? If you are a conservative you would be more likely to watch FOX. From BlackDemographics.com it shows that 4% voted for Mcain. That's in the ball park of the Huffington post poll and not totally out of line from the 9% viewership that I listed above.

BlackDemographics.com

I think Shepard Smith of FOX News is Fair and Balanced. Beck is preaching history. O'reilly well he is off the wall like Ollbermann.

Colbert Hammers Fox News For Lack Of African-American Viewer

Huffington Post poll --- Well that's quality polling

Fox Demographics: 9% Black viewers
Fox Demographics

BET Demographics: 10% White viewers
BET Demographics.

All other demographic data is fairly equal. BET pulls a younger audience.

So If I'm white and don't watch BET am I a raciest? If I am a Black man and don't watch FOX am I a raciest?

Not that BET is a news station however, it does point out that the Huffington is wrong and also that Colbert is still funny as it gets

Ralph Nader: Only the Super Rich Can Save Us

NetRunner says...

@chilaxe so, because there are some YouTube videos of Ralph Nader that got sifted, that to you is a specifically liberal attempt to elevate Ralph Nader to a position of leadership and national attention?

I mean, I'll accept that Huffington post and Democracy Now are both liberal networks, but the former was basically saying "hey, uncle Nader may actually have come up with a non-crazy idea for once!", and Democracy Now is seriously fond of giving a microphone to anyone who will say crazy shit, and as a result they rarely have an effect on more than the fringe of the liberal movement.

As for mainstream radio and TV channels, it might surprise you to learn that we actually don't control them, despite what conservative media tells you. They actually just love to shine a spotlight on our alcoholic uncle, especially when he's talking smack about Democrats. That's not liberals elevating Nader themselves, that's the media trying to hang him around our necks.

So again, I dunno what you're talking about.

Ian McKellen impersonator recites Fresh Prince

Porksandwich says...

Kind of a roundabout way of saying a guy doing an impersonation of someone reading/reciting XYZ.

The way it's stated sounds as if they are implying this guy is not using his own voice to create this but lip syncing. If you look at his other videos, he has quite a few and a lot of them are pretty outrageously weird....that I doubt the real McKellen would record and not have the video of him doing so just for the comedic value of watching it.

It's a long the lines of the voice actor who does the Governator and calls into the Howard Stern show to have phone sex with porn stars.

From Huffington Post. I don't know where they get their information from. But yeah, I think they are correct.

Okay, this is technically a guy doing Ian McKellen doing "The Fresh Prince." Got that? Sorry. We'll clarify. This is a guy doing Sir Ian McKellen doing "The Fresh Prince." There we go. The impression is pretty remarkable. As is the epic pilgrimage to Bel-Air."

Meh don't let it go to your head, I used to use my points for nothing but promoting my own stuff on my way to a ruby. I haven't posted much in the way of vids lately so i've been paying it forward so to speak. I think you're just getting lucky with videos that catch my eye. We must have the same tastes which is fine by me! :-D

I used to get a lot of good sifts from the huffington post video page. You should check it out sometime, they update it about once every day or so: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/video/

Rachel Maddow: photoshop of horrors

oxdottir says...

It's in Wikipedia now:

In September 2009, the Photoshop Disasters blog posted an advertisement from Polo Ralph Lauren that contained a heavily manipulated image of a female model. The post was subsequently reprinted by BoingBoing[21]. Ralph Lauren issued DMCA takedown notices to BoingBoing's ISP and Blogspot, which hosts Photoshop Disasters, claiming their use of the image infringed copyright. Blogspot complied, but BoingBoing's ISP consulted with BoingBoing and agreed that the image was fair use. As a result, BoingBoing issued a mocking rebuttal[22], using the same image again and posting the takedown notice. The rebuttal was widely reported, including on frequently viewed websites such as The Huffington Post[23] and ABC News.[24]

It's a bit of a pain in the ass. Assuming you use Firefox, you look at the iframe embed they provide, take the URL inside it and navigate to the URL. That will lead to a page with just the video on it. Highlight the video (or do Edit -> Select All), then right click, go to "View Selection Source", and in the mess will be an actual embed for the video that you can then cut and paste into the submit window for VideoSift.

I do it so often it's second nature by now, but it's obnoxious. At least it's possible to embed their videos, the Huffington Post ones are literally impossible to sift.

How did you sift that? http://www.videosift.com/video/Olbermann-s-Special-Comment-on-Joe-Wilson
